how many cryptocurrencies are out there in the Bitcoin industry?

maybe more than 1000 Altcoin has Announced on this forum.

You can try to see all of them in the coinmarket cap, but it was over than 1k crypto currency which has included the crap coin as far as I know If you are feeling curious about that and you can try to visit the coinmarketcap. But i think the coin marketcap just listed around 90% of all crypto currency, some coins might not have listed on there due to some problem already faced by the way.

I think it's hundreds and even a thousand more, we can visit coin coin in direct market, and maybe not all crypto coin can enter the market because of some mistakes.

There is no way to know whatsoever. I estimate the number to be in the dozens or hundreds of thousands.
It's literally impossible to count every single shitcoin that isn't listed somewhere.

To know the exact amount of altcoin will certainly be difficult because altcoin already listed properly and there is an error but surely the amount of altcoin reaches 1000 more. And will continue to grow over time but also decrease when each altcoin is problematic or has never been used again in activity.

I think it is impossible to know that.. just look at coinmarketcap, i dont know if you can look for how many altcoins are out there.
by the way, there are a lot of icos being announced in the forum everyday, there is always more upcoming coins everyday, the altcoin market will never be full.
but a lot of altcoins die too, there are a lot who become useless and people stop using them, that happens everyday too.

I do not even know the exact number of how many Cryptocurrency are circulating out there. Whether they are listed on Coinsmarketcap or those who have not registered and it must be very much and not easy to remember them one by one in addition to you record them

There are so many cryptocurrencies out there, maybe around 1,000+ coin and keep increasing because there are always a new altcoin created every day. I agree with other people here, just look at coinmarketcap.com, it's like a database for all altcoin, price, chart and many else. Altcoin market also increased day by day.

it is a lot more than just 1000, there is next pages on coinmarketcap.com which shows more. and also there are coins that are not listed there because for example they are small or shady or scam, or even nearly dead.

and also if you add the coins that existed before and now are dead the number is much bigger than that!

There are many altcoin created, you can hardly know the exact number.
 Many altcoins are created but it never gets to the floor so it is also counted as an altcoin.

There 1090 total altcoins available to trade from 10-15 different exchangers.
Almost 50% of them are dead volume and not in yse at all. They have very low volume to use and trade in the market.
There only 100-150 total coins which are worth investing because their market capitalism is larger than rest of the coins and they garuntee the returns of whatever you are investing.

I met information that now there are 1037 altcoys. Probably for today this information is already outdated, since varieties of altcoyins appear constantly. Some of them disappear. There is a normal process in the crypto currency market.

a really fantastic number. Altcoin just became a prima donna and the weak disappeared like a balance in the real world. The strong will survive. But whatever happens cryptocurrency will always evolve with various features and advantages

Over 1000 is an insane amount. I guess out of all of those a couple hundred are useful. I wonder how many dead altcoins there are ?

There are over 1500 different Altcoins worldwide but only 1090 popular Altcoins were listed by CoinMarketCap

I am sure there were more than 2000 or even 3000 coins in the market over time, some of them died some of them were revived. But there are only like 20-30 altcoins which are useful existing right now.

There are far too many coins, and as others have said most of them are worthless. Part of this is because it is so easy to create a new coin. You can probably do it on Waves in under a minute.
The trick is in identifying the good coins among the rubbish :)
