Title: Thoughts about my portfolio
Post by: RubendeB on August 28, 2017, 01:10:15 PM
Hey guys,

I am quite new here on the forum, and in the crypto world as well.
A few week ago i invested some money for long term, i am planning to hold a few years.

Just curious what you think about my portfolio right now:

40% Bitcoin

7% Waves
7% Dash
7% Stratis
7% Shift
7% 0x
7% BNB

4% NEO
4% QTUM
4% ARK

2% VIA
2% SIA
1% CVC
1% OAX

The first weeks are going quite well, with like a 10% ROI.

What do you guys think? what is missing? what about the ratio? any suggestions?

Feel free to discuss

Seems very good, long term you should be fine :)
Seeing all bars green, i'm thinking to sell some of my NEO (100% currently ;D) and daytrade other coins, but im holding for life :)

You need to consider to add more Shift. Phantom will be on mainnet soon and new website, roadmap and whitepaper too. Sky is the limit. People love decentralised web.

I like how your portfolio is diversified

Although i know that diversify is good for investment but my investment is more risky and i kinda like your portfolio

40% on BTC [Safe]

7% x 6 on Big Coins [That has great future]

And the leftover

Just perfect, do you mind telling how much is your total investment?

Thanks and regards,
puremage

It seems good to me as well. It is hard to understand why didn't add any Ethereum or Litecoin to this? I mean both are useful, deserving coins to be added in many portfolio. I also think BNB should be less than %7.

OP I think you have too much in altcoins, in short term is great but in long term I would stay just with less for example just NEO, Dash and Waves.

Agree with ethereum. But I would not recommend invest in a speculative coin which does not offer anything new like litecoin.

really liked your portfolio
i'm also investing on waves, stratis, ark and ofc bitcoin

shift, bnc, sia, via, cvc are interesting...especially via, i've been waiting for a dump so i can get in, but it's taking too long lol

thinking that you should add litecoin for the stability and long term value, you probably heard it already that "ltc is the silver of btc", that means it's here to stay
also, verge and xspec are really good, you should check them out

I also don't know why i don't hold Ethereum, i just have BTC as main coin.

About the BNB:

I am holding BNB because i think it can be huge in the future (maybe like bittrex?), also they have some intersesting stuff coming up.

In my opinion for long term better altcoins. They can rise up 2-5 times or even 10 times, but bitcoin is hardly can be 40000$.
I mean bitcoin can rise 2x but in the same time altcoin can rise 5-10x.

Anyway good luck to you!

You have a solid portfolio and well diversified. All you need to do now is be patient with your investment and know the perfect timing to get out of it. What I do with smaller coins is that I set a target sell amd sell it when it reaches that amount.

I would definitely add a substantial amount of Ethereum, maybe swap it for one of your other 7% coins.
And I'd add some XRP, although plenty of people don't like it :)

Verge and xspec look both very solid as well, but i want to read more about them before i jump in.  ;D

What is your investment strategy?

Do you try to diversify among industries or how do you select your ICOs? Which information/media do you use for your buy/sells?

What is the return you try to make and how long do you plan to hold the investments?

Are you looking for long-term returns or do you want to speculate?

These are questions that will help to evaluate your investment portfolio better...

You're planning to hold for a few years ? If that's bitcoin ,it's a good choice.Other coins would possibility have dumped and lost their value in a few months. Most of the coins in the list are complete trash and you're missing out on the big players in the game like Eth,doge and ripple. It all comes down to the same thing that is what strategy you're using.

It depends on how many coins you have. You say 40% BTC so how many coins to do have? If you have 1 that is not enough to be honest. How much in US dollars are you investing? This gives me info to make a better opinion on your portfolio.

Hi there.

You portfolio looks good for me at the first look. But you should more waves to your bag, if you can claim it ~100 satoshis. You should also have a look at ARDR, they're launching arround october it has many good features. And another underdog is HEAT in my opinion.

I would put less on Bitcoin and more on other altcoins. Bitcoin is a safe play but if you want to grow your portfolio faster, buy more altcoins. you should add some ether and definately some litecoin. Good altcoins are making 2x, 5x, 10x moves. I was holding a lot of ETH until now and missed out a lot on the rally. A big part of my portfolio was ethereum and i held on to it and i missed out on the rally of other coins like MONERO, LISK, DASH. These are good altcoins and they can rise 2x on good news but for BTC to rise 2x it takes a lot of time.  :)

Indeed! He has very diversified and amazing portfolio. I will also suggest him for adding more waves along with bitcoins. Waves seem to have good future and people are really supporting this project. I hope they will soon beat eth too. I am personally holding quite a big number of waves.

I would also like to know how much is total investment in this portfolio. I like some of your choices, waves, neo and cvc, and bitcoin.
I invested my money in BitDice, BetKing, and TrueFlip ICO`s, one of my next plans is to start buying bitcoins and some alt-coins for
long term holding.
Great portfolio, I have a dream to have something similar, and I would like to know how much money you invested in all this alt-coins.
I do not have enough to invest as I wish, so I will do it in couple stages.

40% bitcoin is good, I also hold 55% bitcoin in my portfolio. I use it in my trading.

Waves and BNB are similar decentralized projects. Both are also promising.

Neo, Cvc and Oax, I also have them in my portfolio. I expect them to multiply their value on the exchanges.

I think your portfolio looks good. I think you'll gain a lot of profit in the long run if you have a good ROI on the first week. Just keep an eye on the market. Try to expand your investments, but I'm not quite sure which coins are worth to keep, dump and invest. Congrats and good luck on your portfolio.
