Title: Is there a guide to creating an Alt-currency fork of BTC/LTC?
Post by: rlh on May 22, 2013, 03:49:04 PM
First,

I'm not looking to fork and make a new coin.  Instead, I want take a snapshot of the latest Litecoin-Qt source and modify it so that you can create a one-stop, GUI-based source to load any number of alt coins.

Almost all of these new alt-coins are the same.  They fork LTC, the modify a few of the same variables and then they point the node look-up to different started IP or IRC channel.  If most of these coins are only 99.99% different from one another, an all-in-one integrated GUI could be easily made.

I'd like to make that client.

Any tips one what needs to be modified to make a full-functional scrypt coin would be helpful.  Thanks guys!
