Are there any legal implications for Storj farmers (or Storj itself) if it becomes an outlet of pirated video and software?

They will be using Storj. It is in demo mode, https://k.im . They stated he has chosen Storj.

This is really good news for storj but why don't they use sia instead of storj? I think kim is one of the people who should take advantage of decentralization.

Great news for decentralized cloud storage users! I guess storj will be pumped in this week after these news. But yes there are couple of problems about piracy.

I think that the hype for storj will come and it will be easy to the moon, but is there an announcement about that? I will try to buy more storj token as much as i can. it will be definitely interesting news and i keep my eyes on it. And storj to the moon, kim will make it become a real thing.

A pump on Storj can happen indeed but so many accounts are promoting it so this is not a good sign tho.

Is this a legit news? I am following the movement of Storj in Bittrex but there is no huge movement happening yet. The price is still a dollar per Storj. And if you trace the line, it is really going downwards. I hope this news is real and will put a stop to the downward movement.

This is about storj and not bitcash, these people :D they want to know what underwear someone bought last year when you bring their name up. storj had the potentials and it proved to us how that potentials could work in favor of investors.

Why would people think that associating themselves with Kim Dotcom is a good thing? If anything people should really be carefull with anything associated with this guy since hes on the radar of alot of authorities and will ever be.

FYI anyone can build apps on top of the Storj backend, it is permissionless, it does not imply any relationship or partnership with the company Storj Labs. Storj software is open-source. Regarding the Bitcache demo, if you actually have tried it out, you will see that besides Storj, they also list Siacoin, Filecoin, IPFS and many other services, including Dropbox, Google Drive etc. Centralized services that are listed there should be more worried about this than any farmers on Storj, as we are talking about an end-to-end encrypted file storage service here that stores only encrypted shards, not whole files, on the farmers´ hard drives. Farmers cannot know what is contained in those shards they store, and cannot decrypt their contents. Only the person that uploaded the files has the keys for decryption. If the uploading entity now decides to make a pirated video file public, sharing access keys, then farmers that identify such renters can blacklist them and thus avoid that questionable content would land on their drives.

Just to put this into perspective, if you do actually try out the k.im demo, you can see a whole list of services to choose from, besides Storj also Siacoin, IPFS and Filecoin are listed for example, and the big established services like Google drive, Dropbox, Box.net etc. What was shown are early demos, not a finished product, you don´t even actually upload any files to the listed services yet in that demo anyway (I have tested this), so I would be cautions and not jump to conclusions, and wait to see which of all the services will be really available in the actual working product in the end.

It's obviously not a partnership, but MU just uses STORJ as one option to store the content. Everyone is free to use STORJ, not even a need for a partnership. But being used by MU will definitely help STORJ to more visibility and adoption.

So what's the difference between Sia and storj? Both are in the same niche? Is there anything that storj is offering that is not available in Sia?
Personally I don't like Sia as an investment because of its huge supply. I think Storj won here easily but why the users would use Storj instead of Google drive? I need some clarity here as they are competing with the tech giants.

Its a good thing for sure but it wouldn't cause the price to jump that much imo. I've been proven wrong before though and as a storj holder hope i'm wrong here.

Doesn't seem to be back up over here. As a matter of fact it's been down for quite some time and I don't see anything besides somebody's YouTube video that says it's going to be back up. There's no reason that you can't deal with other exchanges and I don't see that website getting any kind of trust anytime soon.

The fact is they messed up, they got kicked out, and they need to either stay down and prove themselves overtime or simply stay out of the game. BUT Now they are back and this is what is more important. Past is gone and presently they are back
