Title: BitForce 5 and android
Post by: freelosopher on May 22, 2013, 04:23:30 PM
Hi - i have not found out why i can only post in the newbie section. What du i need to do?

OK .. so i am putting the questione here. I have ordered a "BitForce 5 GH/s SC" BFL miner and i am wondering if anyone here have experience hooking it up to a Android unit instead of having a PC running the mining software? I saw this vid on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9hBRljvZPI so it certainly is possible

I was thinking also if it is possible to somehow have the phone plugged in the power while connected to the BitForce at the same time using maybe bluetooth ???

Any help much appreciated :)

Mining on smart phones doesn't seem worth the cost. I mean, its very expensive hardware, and is mining really slow.

Maybe i do not understand completely how things work, but is it not the GPU that makes the most work - not the mining software? If the BitForce is connected to the Android and the android therefore only is the one that runs the software, i.e. a "control unit", then i would guess it is fine. Am i missing something?
