We moved to scrypt back in 2014 or whenever due to the rising ASIC threat, yet there are now tons of ASICs for scrypts. It just assures that this coin gets added to a multipool very quickly then the difficulty will jump around wildly when the massive pool(s) switch over to it temporarily. So why not produce a new PoW algo that will be impractical for ASICs or even just general mining?
