Some of us have known gambling since childhood. well, I want to ask you what your first bet is .... if I bet with my friend when playing snake ladder who will be the winner at that time. that's the way make me knowned about gambling.

I have only placed one bet in my entire life. That was on a horse at a point to point race deep in the countryside. I think my win was 12x the bet. I decided it wasn't going to get any better than that and never did it again.

I first started betting in Counter-Strike professional matches and skins-based roulette websites. In two weeks I went from $50 to $1000. Yes, I was pretty lucky, but I am actually thankful for that, because I needed to cashout my skins and the solution was pretty simple: Bitcoin. I didn't knew Bitcoin very well until this point.

My first betting was when I was in elementary; it was a running game and I would give my lunch money for a whole week to the one who wins the game on who reaches the finish line first. And sadly I wasn't that lucky, I had to give my whole lunch money to the person who won.  :(

First ever bet for me was match up for NBA. It was with a friend who has been betting with a local bookie for a long time already. It was actually an easy odds to be honest, I really thought it would win no matter what. So I placed a $10 bet and the bet won. After that I got into gambling some more and probably got in too deep. Profited on the earlier parts however lost a lot by the end of my run.

My first bet was with a thimblerigger to get money for a jacket, which I couldn't afford that time. Well, surprisingly I lost  ::)

Was never someone who bet, I didn't like the notion of someone having my money but as I grew up, I found out about the thrill of winning someone else money especially gambling company.My first bet resorted in me losing some money but I came really close to winning until I was finally able to win some huge amount.

So remember childhood ;D. My childhood is already bet with my friends, i bet in marbles game. Like a billiard game but there is a round circle in the middle, have to pull the ball out of the circle his way of being hit by a hero I hold. ;D

This is nostalgic as I have done my first betting during the classic childhood moments to my considered best era of my life which Year 90's.

I can't specified what is the first but there are childhood games here which involved a small cards of any trending anime or cartoons (which we called as teks) and pogs (I think everyone knows this). The amount involved is just small since it was only given by our parents. The trend about that game is all over the country that's why I missed those times where we can lived without computers, cellphones or any gadgets.

So far I never gambled with fiat currency and my first bet was with Bitcoin and it was a cricket bet. My first bet was between Indian and Australia match, and I bet on India to win, and I won that bet. It was a good feeling, and after that only I started to bet in cricket games and made some money. But never used to bet on all matches instead, used to bet only on selective matches but now stopped after directbet site closed down.

i am not too remember when my first time betting but i think i am betting in 8 years old with my friends. in that time, we make a gambling, who can pass to attract a girl in next house and asked her to play or spend our time together. fortunately, finally i win that gambling and i can go with that girl and we make conversation until hours.

I can't remember how I started betting. I think it was way back when I was in my elementary days, I collect cards like magic card, pokemon cards, etc. when I was a kid. Well my very first bet was on a cricket match, till then I absolutely hated betting. So we were in this lecture, and my friend was playing on a team, I don't know what happened to me and I was like, okay let's play I took a stand opposite his team. I'm not sure with the betting in the earlier days with fiat. With bitcoin the first betting was on a tennis event where I placed an betting amount of around 5$ worth of bitcoin. This gradually got increased when started to know more about gambling and the different techniques to avoid loss.

My classmate invited me to join their dota team to face another team from a different class for money because they were lacking one player that time. My first bet was when I was around a gradeschooler.  I played with my friend a game called lucky 9. My first gambling experience was through a promotion at one of the earlier casinos. I can't even remember which because I don't think it has been around for a long time. My first betting was when i was just a little kid where there's a festival celebration, my father brought me there because he likes the rides and the betting game. My case was same as yours. I have never bet though but yes I saw many people betting at many things. I have seen people losing their bets on so serious materialistic objects that they had so huge loss because of that. Same as yours, my first betting when i was still on grade school level on which i do make some bettings regarding on playing Counter strike with other people. Results? Sometimes i do win sometimes i lose when there are better players than me.It was just like yesterday and i do miss those old days.

But in the early 2000s, CS 1.5 for sure.... at local LAN pc zones in a country where internet was not strong enough yet to play online  hehe..  we would choose want to play a game... asked who wanted in at the place.... (sometimes arranged matches too with teams already set) .. but captains would chose team 1 by one like soccer captains when we were kids playing etc.... then we would make a individual bet with 1 or more people on the opposing team... so everyone would wager what they agreed to with whoever they wanted as long as they agreed to it too..

That's a funny question, and yes, now that I think of that, I did start betting when I was a child as well. I guess that most of us do that, and that probably explains why gambling is so popular. It's kind of part of us, as human beings, to try our luck from time to time.

I remember that my first bet is when my Mom and my sister playing cards in our house, our bet is just small amount but that time we can't afford it because we don't have work. My Mom always wins. Maybe because she is the one whi thought us that game.  ;D

I can understand you was just did betting only for fun time, because 9 years old kid have no strategy in his mind only pure winning for fun and nothing else.

Wow 8 yrs and you started with the bet as well. Till 15 I was not even knowing betting and casinos as in our country this is ban. I heard in news about it and then slowly started to understand about it as was reading an article in newspaper regrading that some one was caught due to betting which was illegal  here. Your words true, we will start with a small amount but what we do mistake means every day we will start to spend small amount this will make us to addict to this gambling. I didn't have that much knowledge about gambling when i was a kid. But i will watch that elders will play card games, and everybody will put some amount. That time i don't know it is gambling. But when i started to use my money to bet on sports that time i learned one by one.

The first betting as I recalled was when I was still around 8 years old and we had a game with my cousins of whoever hit the marble first would win and would get to have around $5 for the first person to hit the target. Eventually I was unlucky and never got to win that game.

That's sad for you, that might have affected you on your mindset on gambling but nevertheless, It's never over and gambling should be moderated, if you are planning to gamble in a casino. If you have the chance to win something and is sure of it, then go, if you're not so sure, never gamble with it because chances are you're gonna lose.

I still remember the first bet i gamble is on soccer match when world cup 2010 is so hype on that year and i still underage on that day, my friends also the one who tell me to join him. That's why i try it for the first time and my bet was won on that match, since then i keep gambling until now.

I would say that my first bet was when I was a kid. We were betting on magic cards. This was a lot fun back then, I had plenty of good cards so I won a lot. The money I won I always used it to buy more booster packs. That is why I was always able to improve my deck and won some more. i think almost every one have the experience for first time betting including me which is i am started my first betting high school. but i am not good for betting so sometimes i called my friend and asked him if there is any games that i can send the money and my friend place betting together with me. usually if my friend is positive with the betting, he will suggest me to add more amount in my wallet.

I would say when I was in middle school and started to play basketball league whereas most of the time we always bet with our opponent. I don't remember my first bet. It was a long time ago and I have no idea if I won or not. But I certainly remember my first bet with Bitcoin.

Tennis is the worst game to bet buddy because there are single player game can change at anytime but multiple player game like football, rugby or cricket will be the best games to invest your bitcoins. I started gambling with friends on video games we played some years back.( i.e. Playing soccer on PlayStation). We also did gamble when we played his fathers chess set and even though it wasn't that much I think it pretty much started my gambling career and I formed the habit of earning from games.

Mine has to be dated back to 2014 when CSGO skin gambling was introduced. I had a couple of extra skins which I had no use of and decided to bet them on CSGO matches. My did my first bet when I was sixteen, It was football, I remember I choose Real Madrid because it was the stongest tam at that time, and i won, it was a small amount, but I was happy so much... eehhh :)

My first betting was a long time ago. I believe I had 7 years and my cousin and I played the coin game. The winner was the one that could throw the coin further to the wall. The player with more coins that were near the wall would win. We played small bets that could be comparable to 10 cents or so. But that betting experience had influenced me so much that later after that we wanted to bet on everything that is playable. Our parents weren't comfortable with our bets but they had also gambling experience in their youth so they couldn't say anything against our little games that provided us the entertainment and joy.

I bet a lot offline with my friends but when I discover bitcoin and I was able to try to gamble online, that is the time I realize that it's very easy to gamble online and it's fun because you can play anywhere and anytime you want. You seem to be very lucky for the first time you gambled in your life because if you would have made a bigger bet than then your real amount, I am sure that you would have definitely lost the game. I am saying this because there are two big reasons; first is that you were betting for the first time which means you wouldn’t have been able to tackle the situations like other gamblers, secondly if you have bet with a large amount then the pressure of losing would have squeezed all of your hope.

I could say that my first time in gambling was great. My 1st betting ever was at a local betting game that included our national league games and it was the pre-final round and things well already done since the leading team in the standings was 10 points away from the 2nd place holder , same for the gap between second and third place . Yes, it's seems that game was made of some kids but it was adopt as well of some adult which they really impressed and get interested to play this game and the advantage of this game is you can decide to create by your own rules to be stablished. Which is might be forbidden in the official game of billiards. Because of this freestyle rules many stanby here in our place played and make a bet of each other so that to make it challenging to play in every set of games.

Haha! Well, I have also done this thing in my childhood, betting on marbles. What sweet days were they! Marbles used to mean a lot to us and this is why we used to care a lot for them and try our best to win the bet. At present I am not involved in any kind of betting especially those land based betting where not only your money is in risk but also your life. Betting is good only with marbles not with money.

I don’t believe in this thing, why everyone is blaming luck for this. Luck is not that something occurring and encountering with you every other day. Definitely a man can be lucky in a day out of one month or may be 2 days but no more that.

Anyway, I would guess that it would have been quite different back then than now, since everything now is quite easier and automatic unlike before. The first time gambling was when i was an adult. Exactly when i was becoming a sailor, I gambled poker with captain and some other colleagues. It's really funny to remember that, because i am really do not understand about gambling cards (until now).

I've known gambling since I was a kid. My family gambles a lot, we even had a mini casino at home were all of my granma's friends would gather there everyday just to gamble. Phew..If I remember correctly, I placed my first bet when I was 19 or 20.  Having grown up as a loyal supporter of a certain football club, you tend to start believing that there is nothing impossible for your team to achieve so I put my weeks wages at the time on a match.  I lost all of it of course, but it was a great experience, knowing that I could finally bet or gamble.  Although it didn’t take very long for me to realise that I wasn’t much good at it because I kept losing.

Hmm. You must be a very lucky person. I only had a good experience when I started and I wish the following ones were that good. It is fun though, but losing most of the times have never really been, and I am really just considering dropping online gambling pretty soon as there is really no point anyway. My first beating in my life was about 15 years ago when there is a cricket match between two countries and I bet with my friend that this country will win the match, and likely my favorite team whom the match and I won my first bet. cool. nice story bro but i think snake and ladder is not a form of gambling rather it is called board games. howver it is played by a dice therfor some people wil think ( including you ) that snake and ladder is still gambling. well for me, i first known gambling when i was 10 to 9 years old that time my brothers and cousins are playing card games specifically lucky 9 and they then taught me how to play it.  i was eventually hook on some different kinds of gambling , not just card based but almost all of them.

I disagree, you can actually gamble with anything you see. You can even gamble just by flipping a coin, let alone a children's game like snakes and ladders which actually has a dice mind you. A dice resembles gambling in a lot of ways, a lot of gambling sites and establishment even use dice as a logo. Practically a die (dice) is the symbol of gambling. So we can't really rule out that what he gambled on is not gambling.

this is what I did when I was a child. sometimes me and my friends just flipping a coin, guess if its number or face and I think this is pure luck because we don't know what will show up. and because of this, I enjoyed my time to play a dice game and I see there are more than just luck in a dice game. but when I grow up, I don't play gambling anymore until I know bitcoin in a few years ago and until now, if I want to play gambling, I choose dice game because this is the easy game for me.

We flip it and the winner gets the bet cards.

i was introduced to betting by a friend and we just did it for fun. We were passing by a betting shop and then my friend convinced me to ho there with him, and i staked my first bet thrre which I won. we used to bet with very small amount so we were earning very small and they also won against us very small. This is really a nice feeling when you bet for the first time and you win it. If I could remember it correctly, My first bet is a Basketball game (Our team vs. our rival). It was a championship game and the last game of our senior year (High School). If we won a bet and then using it again on next game will really not assure us to win and might really cause frustrations but well we do have different decision into different matters since its our money then we can do whenever we wanted. My first bet was a football betting which I went successful in my favour though it was a very small amount of money but is worth doing. A friend of mine won a very huge amount of money lately though she has been into gambling for a long time and I refer to her as a gambling expert.

My first betting ever was in a slot machine in casino here in our town. I had a beginers luck and i wont doubled my money. when you go in debts you will always think of the return. It will make you mentally disturb and you will not work properly. I was always against betting, because I knew that I wouldn't be able to stop myself ans that's exactly what happened the first time I made a bet online. Well me, my firts betting is to my brother. When are just kid we love to play chess. And we also fun of making a bet. My first betting was i don't remember rightly, but i thought i was started when i played with my friends in cricket matches and all the time we have bet who will win. I call that was my first betting experience, but professionally i started gambling when i know about bitcoin.

My first experience was with pokemon cards (lol).. We used marbles and put up pokemon cards against the wall.. It was long ago, like in 2001 or something, I was sightseeing in Vegas and I and my girlfriend we decided to play the machine. We must have had luck, beacuse we happened to be in Ceasars Palace, and one bet was 1 dollar there, while in all other casinos it would have been 25 cents. So we put our dollar into a slot and played the game. We didn't really recognize the outcome as a winning one, but it was. We barely noticed that "50" appeared in the small screen and we were allowed to play some more. Good that you even won something. I never had a single luck once, and I really did not bother since I only bet with the little I could have dashed out anyway, but it is a past tense now. Wasting time on gambling even after learning the nature of dice games is not very smart of any person. I start to get in contact with gambling is when i am very young that time i always go to my father shop house and along the stretch of shop houses some of them have those illegal gambling jackpot machine behind their shop and i started to get hook by those interesting jackpot machines. That was a bad first time of gambling that you lost in sports bet. If your first experience with cards and you didn't bet on it that can't be called as a gamble.

I remember playing Penny blind Texas Hold'em It was so fun, I remember (One of my first encounters playing this younger) when I had .27 cents, I had 1 quarter and 2 pennies, when I bought in. we played and played and at the end of the night I cashed out with almost 15 dollars, Mind you It was a hell of a lot of pennies, But I was so happy, I was probably 12 to thirteen at the time, playing with my older Brother and his friends!!!

My first betting was on sports and I was happy because I won the bet. The amount was very less but I have won it. I was very happy because that was the very bet of my life. I never gambled after that because I am fully aware of the bad results of regular gambling. I think that gambling should be for fun and not for greed of money otherwise it will ruin your life.

You are much involved in gambling than me, I only did in my childhood with my friends and class fellows and did not look back again. It is a mode of fun and entertainment for me and nothing more and I do not like to choose this way for earning money because this has a lot of risks and has less probability of winning or making money.

I look at it for fun and enjoyment and nothing more. It gives you instant profit which is the major advantage but you know of its losing probability as well.

Actually it's when we do card game and of course it's just for fun and for added excitement we put money to it and that's it. We just bet some penny and whoever won will treat some food. My first betting was with my cousin it was a card game I forgot the name I did not won because obviously it was my first time and my cousin was teaching me how to do it that time. It was our way of killing our time since there was no gadgets at that time later on I learned how to play and I can proudly say that I am good at playing that card game now but I don't play it with money bet anymore I just play for fun like giving consequences to the one who lost.

Most of the people who write on this thread have the same answer and I know the reason why the answers are same because I also did the same. In sports betting, the person has the advantage to put bet on the game in which he has command or has a good knowledge of. I myself putted my first bet on sports and I also made some money from it.

I agree with you in this regard because I also went for gambling just because I earned some money from the game that I was playing with my friends and when I saw my money came back with double indemnity, I became a little bit greedy at that time and started to do gambling by putting bets on other games that I used to play but later on as maturity came, I left everything and I am glad I did it.

When I was little my mother used to buy me a few lottery tickets when we went grocery shopping.  I also used to play some video games that had gambling aspects but no real money was on the line.  My father and I had a habit of placing small wagers on sports.  It would usually be for doing a chore and choosing what activity we did afterwards.
