Title: Bitcoin Lost and Found
Post by: bitrebel on June 23, 2011, 01:20:21 AM
If you lost bitcoins or had them stolen, post here for your claim. No spam robberies or sperm robberies please.

If you found lost bitcoins and they do not belong to you, post your report here.

Let's be honest folks!

One of my video cards glitched out today and I lost out on something on the order of 0.05 bitcoins in mining over the course of a few hours.  If you could reimburse me, that would be great.

Aren't chargebacks impossible with this system? Aren't any Bitcoins transferred out lost forever unless the thief elects to send some back?

Oh man, wouldn't you know it? After reading your post, my 1,000 BTC was stolen! I can provide the address in blockexplorer if that would help. Just make sure you donate to the address below.

Thanks!

True, chargebacks are not possible with BTC. Either the thief or the person who happens to have received the stolen funds. Or also the point where he tries to sell the BTC.

I 'lost' 100 btc last winter.  I'm not sure whether the address I sent them too was from an old wallet, or was one of those 'one time use only' MTGox addresses.

If you love something, set it free.  If it comes back to you, it's not your bitcoins :)

I think I should probably sue you not only for the coins I lost out on today, but also for the emotional distress you are causing me in this thread.

I live a microfiber couch with multiple cigarette burns, a cushion that never stays fluffed, and probably some dog feces embedded in there somewhere.  I lost them in my couch.

Did you read the disclaimer for claimers and miners. It reads, "The Bitcoin Lost and Found is not responsible for your emotional distress."

That's on the Mt. Gox terms of service I never signed I think.  What about irritable bowels, am I covered for that?

There's this site called www.mtgox.com, they told me if I send some coins to one of their special deposit address then I can exchange them for real god trusted USDs.

But they took my hard mined coins and disappeared  :-\
Guess it was too good to be true huh?

I bought my BTC there and withdrew them the same day, like always.

eBay started off as a way for the guy's wife to collect Pez dispensers, and look at what a clusterfuck THAT has turned into.

I have found owners to three of those addresses.  All of them are people I have sold coins to on #bitcoin-otc, and I guess they have bought coins from other people as well.  I have checked the rating system, and the users have not been rated by anyone at the date of the transactions involving stolen funds.  None of them are around on #bitcoin-otc any more, so further investigation will be difficult.  The largest transaction involved was 10 BTC, the smallest only 0.001 worth of stolen funds, so I'm not sure if it is worth the trouble.
