Title: buy in ICO vs Exchange
Post by: bbcolex on August 30, 2017, 08:28:31 AM
I've participated like 5 ico's recently and i think it's more profitable waiting for the coin/token to be listed in the exchange platform than buying in first from the actual ICO, cause of DUMP from bounties. so i'm having second thought participating in ICO and would rather buy it in exchange .  ???

i am thinking the same. its way easier on an exchange and the promised benefits (x % bonus etc) are often not worth it.

It is true. generally when a coin enters the price will actually fall and of course you will lose when selling coins purchased when ICO. so the right thing is to wait for the coin to enter the exchange and buy it when the price down.

I mostly buy in 2 parts when i decided to invest in ico. First i decide how much money i am going to invest. Then i joined the ico in the very first day with half of my money. And then if everything goes successfull i buy second half from exchanges. It is usually less risky.

Guess you can never know upfront, else no one would invest during ICO/ Pre-ICO.
I like to invest as early as possible (just backed 5 ICO's that i think are interesting) in the early fases. (so that means another like 30-50% discount)

So as most coins they will first drop when they hit the market and thenn go up. I will check price and level out when they hit the market if the price is right.
Else ill just HODL and sit it out when it rises.

Buying in exchanges is mostly better but if a project is very good and there is a contribution cap for every person, buying in ico may be better.
