According to the indeed to determine a value coin or project the main thing is the plan or what they bring. If I look at the plans that they have had a value that was useful in the future is certain and I am sure that the coin will soar and gives many advantages to investors, the next step is the team. If the coin or project has a solid Team and never do the work of a successful project, I think it has better value. But it all depends on which team consistently create.

The value of a coin is perfectly determined by the demand to the supply requirement. Basically the value gets determined once after the ICO sale gets over. Later the same when gets listed to the exchanges for trading requirement the value gets pumped causing a increase based on market capital.

i think the demand has a big role in this case, the demand gives you the total person that already interested with the coin and the suplly gives a clue about how many the coin will be distributed to all of them. That will give the total value of the coin or it will be automatically deployed.

I can determine the value of the coin by looking on its project and also the road map of the coin. If i will see that the coin has a good project that can give benefits to its possible users then it is already a good coin for me and if their road map is also good then i will definitely buy that coin and keep it on my investment portfolio.

Same to your way I also looking for a roadmap and the project that coins are focused because it can give idea to the investors that the type of coin that they are choosing are depending on their wants and uses of the coins. The project that have a beautiful plan in the future and the company that are in the coin also helps the coins to be pumped in the future.

The value of a coin is the most important thing to those sellers and buyers. It is according to the value if how long or short you hold a coins. If that so, I think the strong foundation and the longness of coin is what I'm looking for, for me to value the price. If a coin has a great foundation like btc it is already a trusted coins and I was one who are the first investors who are hold this coins in long-term. If they was looking for high demand I think it is ups to the price of this coins, some investors are looking in that way.

For me.

For old coins.
If it available on bit exchanges. Like Poloniex or Bittrex.
If it in past had rise up.

For new coins.
Popularity on bitcointalk.
How big was (or now) bounty program.
Who are developers.
If it presenting on sites like icorating.com, tokenmarket.net

It's a good question. Some scam alt-coins calculate it this way.

1. Pre-mine 10,000 dumcoins.
2. Sell one to your buddy for $120.
3. Now advertise dumcoin as having a 1.2 million dollar marketcap.
4. Vacuum up money from people who can't do math.

The value is determined by every users either alt coin or bitcoin, if the price is going to up that means there's a hype going on. Buyers and seller will always determined the fluctuation of the price and also this coming November there will be a greater fluctuations to happen. That's why you should always check the marketcap if that coins is on the list and is improving.

Well you can determine the value of coin by considering the fact that how it is behaving in the market. Secondly, it also depends on the number of individuals which are dealing with that coin. Also, how much popular that coin is amongst the investors also matters a lot.

The value of coins is determined by how the project is going to success . Its all about the coins that they sale and if their coins has become in demand or more seller buy their coins that means the coin of that project has the chance to have higher value and many investors in the project. Also it depends on how the project will be successful , there are also coins that has low value cause of the total supply is not that much but its doesnt mean that it wont have a chance to have a higher price.

Yes we can determine its value in the marketcap. Ive look into their project roadmap, developer, total supply, and devs activity. Usually the good thing is to study first the project before investing so you will not regret later on. Thus, as we are all saying don't invest in just one coin, think, research and invest in worth project.

Value of a coin? Then it would depend on how big or small its entire supply and the coins are circulating and price do matter on how much investors or users do tend to buy or sell it. If there an active community and having a big trading volume on famous or big exchanges then expect this coins would really valuable. These are the factors i do see on which it can really affect the price of a certain coin.

I think the value of the coin is determined by the market interest into that coin. In other word that is the market demand. Market demand arises due to buyers and sellers. Market interest depends on the how success of that project. Successful projects have the good road map, team and plan.

in my opinion the value of a coin depends on marketcap if the price is higher then a coin automatically price the coins would be high so many coins that are provided during the ico but it will also affect their activity and for this you can check their bitcointalk on the forums. If during the ico they hit the target, then those coins easily after ico ends. with a way to determine the price of the coin so it will give the total value of coins or will be placed automatically.

most people will not see the value of the coin.
but the concept of ico is, and what they give, innovation, usability still lots etc. it is very influential for the success of an ico, especially a solid team and a respectful dev. but not with the coins value. I think a successful ico is not necessarily the value of the coins in the market will be high.

Well I agree on this matter mate, marketcap is the most reliable monitoring of coins status and I believed that if the current situation of the coin status will fluctuate; coin market cap site will be updated always. Of course the demand also matters most when the price of a coin went higher specially when the market cap of a coin will be promisingly reach to the progressive demand which mainly investors were looking over and over again.

I guess that depends on what you are looking for when you say value. Crypto-currencies are the epitome of the antic that everything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Most of these coins have 0 Market Capital behind her back by absolutely no assets whatsoever and yet that will sell from anywhere from pennies to several dollars a piece based on nothing more than the willingness of another party to pay that much.

It is a broad question, and it's initially more about the potential of the coin and its technology than its value- is it an innovation that will be useful longterm?  Of course for ICOs, they do put an initial value on the coin to raise the capital they need to get the project off the ground, but once it hits the markets, all value is defined by supply and demand.

It is the market and demand. There are coins that went so well that demands are so high it is hard to buy one of them. The buyers will tell it all. Look at the top 10 alternative coins and you will see they have been living for years. The support from investors is still there and from other users. Litecoin is one which have been bashed for years and yet it is still kicking and have been one of the great crypto coins due to usage.

I feel Ethereum has been established as an viable alternative to Bit coin by the crypto followers and investors. There are lot of applications running on ethereum platform so its value has been established.

Lite coin is not able to to get much traction as it is compared as a competitor to Ethereum. Not sure if it has its own platform. Its value will go up when it being used as  medium to build applications.

I think after Bitcoin which enjoys the first mover advantage, all the new coins are valued according to their utility unless there is pump and dump involved. For example, ETH has it value because of smart contract, recently EDG coin has been highly valued because its a gambling coin with zero house edge, PTOY coin's company has news recently that is why it is being valued more. These factors derive the price. Whether company has the potential or they are making some upgrades or solving some big problem are beneficial in determining the price.

The value of coin is very dependent on the demand in the market, that's why fluctuation of price is very often to happen anytime. Mostly we can say that a coin gives a good market value when it have a huge volume and it is listed to the big exchanger. And in buying coins, it is very important to have a look of their market trend and volume, and then decide to invest or not.
