You should look for Google Chrome extension for Waves. That one is official and working quite nice. But you should always backup your private keys and pass.

If it's an offline wallet why do I need G Chrome?

Couldn't I download it without Chrome?

Type Wavesliteapp in google open the link, and it will ask to add extension add it. After that, you can launch that app the new window will open it is waves official wallet. Register your account and save the key. After entering inside the wallet take backup for your account, private key and other things. Here you can lease your waves and have the trading option. I am using this wallet and not faced any issues till today.

You probably already know this but I use the Waves Lite Client at: https://waveswallet.io/  It lets you backup your wallet, seed, and keys; so that should be as good as storing it locally?  It also lets you lease your waves to earn a small passive income; also gives a mobile app... and it's actually nicely designed.
