Title: Alternative for Bounty Payments
Post by: aoluain on August 31, 2017, 11:47:54 AM
Apologies in advance if this is not the right place to post this

Would it be a consideration for the Bounty campaign managers to
make payments and rewards in Litecoin as well as Bitcoin.

and would people in general be open to this idea?

I have seen signature campaigns offering ETH and other tokens
as rewards but outside ETH/token rewards I would possibly like to
see Litecoin as an alternative

I think that's no problem, LTC is legit coin.
I see there's not yet LTC payment for the campaign reward in this forum.

Mostly campaign which offer ETH and token as reward is because it's in the same platform, it's means the token based on ETH system and mostly related to ICO.

I do not know anyone who uses ltc, but maybe in the future.
I think paying a gift with ltc is a great idea, we see the price of ltc in the market is quite high and this coin is stable.

Well because eth has its own blockchain they can freely make transactions in payment. Im not realy updated on ltc, but if ltc has its own blockchain then we can use ltc also a means of paying people if there are any platform made in the name of ltc. From what i know btc and eth has there own blockchain so they are paid in those currencies. Some also give tokens as a reward so i guess that could be better although it is really a long term profit.

Bounties with its own tokens , is a free way to projects develop team,so devs like this way. BTC/LTC/ETH paid bounties are absolutely more attractive to bounty hunters , tokens  are not  legit coins for short time.

Personally I dont know anyone who uses Bitcoin or Litecoin
but I have both! Litecoin I thought would be another way
to receive a bounty. I have also noticed on different signature
campaigns where the manager has to reduce the rewards
as the price of Bitcoin rises, Which I dont dispute because
I know there are budgets to adhere to etc.

This is the reasons on which most altcoin in the market now is using ETH-platform or even waves platform. I havent see any ICO or bounty campaigns which do make use of LTC this is why we cant really see this coin to be used as a payment and we cant do anything about it since those projects have chosen to use ETH based than on LTC.

I'm fine with how the payments work so I voted for staying it as it is since it was what was already initiated in the first place, I wouldn't change it in my opinion. And I think this was the main reason why another platform was created like the Ethereum blockchain too.

Agree,im fine with the common ways on how bounty amounts have been ditributed to its participants.Litecoin might be good even on other coins too but most project would really prefer on sticking on bitcoin or altcoin payments which is based on any platform that they used and as being said project been launched are mostly basing on etherium.

as someone who likes Litecoin and also holds litecoin i say it is a good idea because i wouldn't mind getting paid in LTC (if i were to join one someday).

but as someone who likes Litecoin and holds it, i say it is not so good because most people who get paid these rather free tokens will start dumping them just as fast.

besides, it is a hassle for the owner to buy each of these coins to pay. everyone owns bitcoin obviously so it is convenient for them to pay and get paid in bitcoin.

but if you want to be flexible then i guess the best option is to provide the participants with the choice. let them choose what they want to paid in.

Last time, many developers began to be used to pay for your own bounty tokens on these platforms as WAVES or ETH, but often after the end of the subscription company these tokens down and it turns out such projects use the free method, which is wrong. Method of payment in BTC or LTC would be more progressive, and possibly more cost effective in the long term.
