Title: Where to point to?
Post by: claussteg on September 02, 2017, 12:07:44 AM
Ladies & Gents!, I know someone around here might help pointing out where to look.  And probably I'm just barking at the wrong tree here, and my money is lost... but I'll go for the long shot.

Back in 2013, November, I tried to get into BTC wave... I had a mining account and I even bought some.  BTW, I'm from Argentina, and back then there was currency controls, so It was quite a hustle.  I created a VirWox Account, and a Skrill one and made a 100USD worth operation.  On the end of such opperation, I got some 0.1 BTC wich were sent to my address on my computer Bitcoin Core.

Fast Forward to now, though I never formatted my computer, I upgraded Win to win10, and had to reinstall mostly anything.

Don't exactly know what to do to try to get a hold of my small riches...

SOme ideas over there?.  Already looked for wallet.dat on my harddrive and found nothing.

I do have the BTC address, and if I put it on blockchain.info search engine it shows me it's an address, and the only movement that occurred back then

"Number of ttransactions: 1
TOtal Received:0.108 BTC
Final Net: 0.108"

Is it possible to get this back? what/where should I be reading to understand my situation?

Much thanks in advance!

i don't know if you have other solution or something like that from others,
you can not find the wallet.dat and you 'mostly' reinstall everything which mean you already wiped out everything in your PC and i am sure everything in your roaming also wiped out ,
oh,right.
how about private key? if you have it you can claim it back.
because i used it to recover my wallet,it is gone too ?
you can not recover it back if you only have the addres, you need 'wallet.dat','private keys'.
if you don't one from both of them,i am afraid you will never get it back again in the future.

for your reference how to recover it if you have that go here:

he lost this wallet but he own the private keys, but everything is solved right now because of the private keys

So as of this moment, you don't have anything that can help you get your money back? Wallet files, private keys, literally anything? If you haven't changed your hard drive and just migrated from win7 to win10, you could try to use Recuva to see if you can salvage anything relating to your old wallet file. That's the only way I could think of that you can try since you have nothing apart from your system which remains (I assume) unchanged except for the OS.

You are unlikely to get it back, even if you were to find remnants of the wallet file on your PC it will very likely have parts missing and be corrupted. I recommend you forget about these funds in the past and work on new methods to earn bitcoin if you want back in.
