Over the past months/years there have being numerous statements and speculations on the digital currency “bitcoin” ,deciding its fate and on how a money that you cannot see or touch can be used for every day transaction, many countries have being calling the cryptocurrency a “Scam Coin” and that it is meaningless and pointless.

It was just a part of actions taken by governments to prove that bitcoin is nothing but a scam coin.The governments and bankers have tried their best to prove bitcoin as wrong,but despite their efforts,they have failed to prove so.Now,most governments and even banks have started to accept block chain technology since it is secure and it makes the work much easier.By this way,they have indirectly approved that bitcoin which is also working in block chain system is also secure.Now,some governments have even come to the extent of legalizing bitcoins to atleast save their tax revenues.They have almost understood that bitcoin could be only regulated,but could not be stopped.

Don't see anything special here. Bitcoin can harm the current bank system so modern authorities see cryptocurrencies as a personal threat. As they think attack is he best defense so thats why they are calling it a scam coin. Nothing special.

The banking system or competitors want to discredit bitcoin, because that it is unprofitable for them to use a lot of people and earn good money on it. You just need to believe in it and do not pay attention to it.

Between scam and "the future" ,i believe the truth is somewhere in the middle.
Bitcoin is not a scam,but some greedy devs and miners might want to change bitcoin and increase their own profits scamming the millions of ordinary bitcoin users.
I don`t see governments as such a big threat for btc.

No different then what is going on, on the stock market. Only difference is goverment, the big banks and firms have not found a way to control it.....yet

The government's official statements will always be as Bitcoin is a scam and buy/sell on your own caution. We all know that Bitcoin will become something from the first day we heard about it but still, there are some people who think of it as a scam.

A product/service/whatever would be labeled as scam/something not good as long as it hasn't proved itself to be worthy of trust in any way. In the case of bitcoin, many people have already claimed their hefty profits that's why it:s turning out to be "the future" for most speculators. Fair enough, bitcoin is indeed the future. It's just a matter of time for people to realize this.

I really don't care what these banks thinks in the first place because all that they care about is their profits and since people are no more saving at banks they see bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies as threats and that's why they spread these negative news about Bitcoin now, but we are busy making money to care about what they are saying.

Bitcoin was considered a scam since it is a new kind of investment and it is new to people. Only after bitcoin has proven itself to be legit and profitable then that people have been convinced that bitcoin is a good investment. Those who trusted bitcoin in its early stages and hold it have gain huge profits while those who did not are now joining late.

Agreed with the Op, when I first came to this online world, I was so surprised to see so many scams happening, but last year I finally came to Bitcoin world, when I was discussing it with friends and families all thought this was the mother of all scams, and I just had faith in it, today all these people are biting the dust while we all those who had faith in Bitcoins are rejoicing. Truly enjoying the moment.

Bitcoin tells for itself. I also remember how it was called as a new financial pyramid on the TV at 2010-2011 years. But bitcoin could make a real break through and showed everyone that it's not a pyramid and not a babble. I suppose only cause of that proves so many people and governments are paying attention at bitcoin nowadays. I admit that I also was skeptical when I just get joined, if I would know bitcoin will raise so high I would sell my car and invest everything in this currency!

Yes it's true bitcoin now one of the promising future investment for lots of people's .But some of people saying it's big bubble it can explode any time what should i tell about this people.

My neighbour said the same thing.... I then asked him this question. If you use PayPal to pay for something, CAN YOU TOUCH that

money? No it is digital and the same goes for credit card payment and also bank accounts at a bank. He smiled and walked away.

A month later I was at his house, helping him to buy bitcoins.  ;D

Yeah , I readed your article That is totally truth that happened with the bitcoin because when i started to use bitcoin in 2011 then it get banned by my country's government and after that 6-7 months they un-banned the bitcoin because they want figure our whether the bitcoin is better option for the earnings or not and how much impact will be on the economic development of the country .
But now about 3 months ago many people and experienced people said that it is scam and they will ban but due to the example of the JAPAN like countries our government also decided that they will not ban but regulate it for the limit use .
So here in my opinion people were only spreading the stupid news from social media and making money from popularity and views .
So here instead of the official announcement , we should not think -ve or +ve Because we are the users and if we will stop the ise of bitcoin then surely the value of the bitcoin will get down , so don't see at any unofficial announcement from any platform .

From the past that bitcoin has just little value and no one give a thought about it then many have been shock because of the sudden surge of it's price many did not expected that the Cryptocurrency that they though was a scam turned to be a valuable asset, I never blame them for not doubting it because I myself did doubt bitcoin at first because it is so good to be true that this kind of technology can simply change everything that you had believe in.

I did not know that it was called a scam coin.  The time I know about bitcoin I thought that it was really a scam.  How can a currency you cannot hold can give you an income.  But never heard that it was called like that. 

Whatever it was called, the important thing is that it is not a scam.  We are able to have or secure our future because of it.

Well in the beginning, bitcoin really has been attached to "Scam" or "Dark Web" or "Illegal Activities". But unfortunately, this hasn't been the case and the only one that spreading this rumor are the governments, specially anti-bitcoin nation. However, in the last couple of months/years bitcoin has been the buzzword from Banking system to IT sector that one begins to wonder and asking the question if its true that crypto in particular in a scam coin. Bitcoin already proven otherwise, seeing the price goes to $4000++, it has gain trust and confidence from ordinary citizen to big time investors alike. So I can't see how can crypto or bitcoin becoming a scam.

I don't know who are the people behind the scam accusation of Bitcoin. But I am also a victim of that fake news spammed on social media. That's why I have hesitation before when I first met Bitcoin. If only they're not spreading such fake news maybe everybody is rich now. I know that some powerful institution or individual are behind all this. It could be possible with newbies in crypto too since they are targets of scams as they have limited ideas in cryptocurrency. I don't understand why they did that to the crypto community.

Some people just have nothing better to do then moan and grown and speak utter rubbish about things they have no idea about. These people usually are not doing much with their kids and want to inflate their own importance and act like they know everything. Naysayer's. Never listen to them for of you so you will fail at everything in life . It's really obviously Bitcoin is great and whoever can't see so.... Well.... They get get left behind.

bitcoin is never made as a scam, the problem with most people is that they talk too much and don't research nor ask someone who understand what bitcoin is. and sad to say even financial gurus, tend no to read about bitcoins, rather they focus on the stock market, even though it is their specialty, they should also try to read articles regarding bitcoin. I had an experience before with a so-called financial guru here in m country, I showed him the charts of bitcoin for 1 year, I should him all the graphs, and the speculations prior the actual graph, then I've been told that it is not a good investment, what you have is a scam, no investment can go more than 200% in a short period of time, even google took that long, then I ask him, is it possible to have a great stock, he then told me yes, but bitcoin is different, there are no board of directors, who are you going to trust with your investments. I was shocked with what I've heard and was saddened to know, that certain guru, doesn't do what he preaches, he was advising that time that gold is still a good investment, and bitcoin is considered gold 2.0, just the same with physical gold, there are no board of directors. Instead of asking that guru again I read articles and books and gained more knowledge, and what I've found out, is that bitcoin's volatility is a good thing, it will give you more profit in the future. I think those people who say bitcoin is  scam, just need to be more diligent in finding out what bitcoin is.

government and banks see bitcoin as a threat as it will be soon replace fiat money thats why they make action to prove that bitcoin and other crypro are scam but still they cant prove it and banks fail to there moves thats why government and banks are now accepting bitcoin they say" if you cant beat your enemy join them" that what banks and other government do. as they cannot stop the out growing popularity of bitcoin and other crypto they are now accepting it plus blockchain is secured. in the near future bitcoin will be the next currency

There is always two ideas in everything in this world. The one who supports and the other ones who are against it. I don't care who discredit btc because I know they will never win and majority of the world will support crypto.

I think the government does not want to lose their currency because bitcoin will replace it. many reasons the government announced to bitcoin that bitcoin is a counterfeit currency. that is wrong .. i think today people already know about bitcoin. most of them are already using it. and become a millionaire because of bitcoin. so even though the government and the bank give an announcement that bitcoin is a scam .. it will not affect the society .. especially for those bitcoin users

no country has ever called bitcoin a "scam coin"!
some of them may have said bitcoin is used for illegal activities and 2 or 3 countries out of 195 countries in the world have made it illegal. but even they have never called it "scam coin".
the only time that any one used that word, is when a random person or a shitty click-bait website like your link wants to attract attention or spread FUD.

It is the joke of the year, calling bitcoins or even any other crypto currency is just ridiculous. I have heard rumors about bitcoin being illegal in countries like Russia etc but they have not made it illegal yet. Actually, they are thinking to introduce it to their people. If it was a scam, it would not have such a large community.

Bitcoin was considered a scam at first because it is a premined coin and usually premined coins are scams. But not always. And over time people have made millions from Bitcoin so it is safe to say it isn't a scam at all (obviously). Also when it started it was used to buy drugs and illegal stuff mostly which is another reason for the negative stigma before.

Banks are selfish they don't care about the money you earned or on you're savings they care about the high interest on your money they earned or steal. Unlike bitcoin,bitcoin does not take interest on you. So other government and banks makes way to make bitcoin just a  bad or scam but there was'nt a prove to make bitcoin bad and they have no choice but to accept bitcoin

Everything is a scam until proven it isnt. Do we trust strangers by nature? Do we not see them as a potential risk in our life? Don't they have to prove us wrong? Well, Bitcoin is not the exception. We don't know if Satoshi is going to dump his thousands of Bitcoins one day on the market but I guess even Nakamoto will want to take profits at some point unless he is dead  :P

This is absolutely right. Because in that time no one has proven that the bitcoin is a legit because it is a new for us because it is the very first digital currency but suddenly the banks and other financial sector accept the bitcoin as a currency in that situation there will be a drastically change in the way of viewing the bitcoin so for now the bitcoin is the legit one and maybe the future of the currency.

I don't think the truth is somewhere in the middle, the truth never came up. It doesn't exsit for now. Bitcoin still keeps its magical potential, and whent he potential appeared, the truth will be available for us. We still need time.

it is true bitcointak for a good future and should be active in bitcointalk every day and can see a scam or not.

They are just jealous and do not have time to buy at a low price, and after that they make useless news like this. If bitcoin SCAM we will not be able to get a profit, let alone to be able to sell our Bitcoin. I am very thankful for bitcoin, bitcoin has changed my life. Such nonsense will not change my love for bitcoin

The statement BTC is a scam has never been hold up properly. Usually people who said that are ignorant people, people who did not do their due homework, or people who have benefits in going against BTC. Rather than saying BTC is a scam, I think I can accept BTC is lousy more in my dictionary.
