If you don't have a specific exit plan, you're better off holding solid coins with high market cap.

What about those coins have the low marketcap and i meant that was relate to the top 50 - 100 coinmarket cap, because that still has a lot of the potential in the future because the room for the growth still always there.
It looks to be a good choice. The price of top 10 coin market cap is too high.

There's no guarantee that mid cap alts are going to be around even for a year. Most of them don't even have a good use and are pumped&dumped all the time. For long term, I'd recommend high cap coins. The only mid cap alt for long term I strongly believe in is UBQ. If I had to choose another mid cap alt, I would pick ZEN. For short term, there're many good ones.

there are some altcoins that I hold for my assets in the future.
lisk, waves, stratis bitshares, syscoin, golem, iconomi, ripple, etherium and most importantly bitcoin.
some altcoin above I am sure the front will have a good and high price.

I have invested in many coins and I continue to invest. A lot of good quality projects and I follow them constantly. My top 5 coin is constantly changing. However, this has become a bit more balanced.

I know nothing about ARK but it gets mentioned here and there; could you explain why you think this is a good project?

UBQ is basically a fork of ETH and ZEN is a privacy coin.

Yes i think that there are a lot of coins that have a very big potential in a near future. At the moment i am holding some coins, but i will suggest you to advice in those who gave me more profits;
Ethereum (it has been growing a lot in the last week, about 40%)
Monero (you all know that it went from $40 to $140 in two days)
Litecoin (just because the same, from $40 to $85 in a few days)
0x (they have an amazing dev team and the only thing they want is push the price up, right now they are so cheap)

If I'd kept with this from the start i would be in a way better position

Eth I could have had at 55$, monero at like 20 bux, btc at 2500 and Ltc at 5$

My top 5 are:

1.Bitcoin - the king you need to have it so you can buy other coins.
2.ETC - seams quite undervalued compare to the rest of the top caps and with ETH switching to POS at some point in time, this might be as good a time as any to stock on ETC.
3.IOTA - risk/reward still seams pretty good on this one considering it might be a next level crypto with many use cases. The team that is forming behind it is also top notch. It will do wonders in 2018.
4.Tezos - insta 3x out of the gate, need I say more? If you are on twitter prepare for a lot of Tezos in 2018.
5.DigiByte - DGB is still vastly undervalued, considering it can do what BTC and LTC can do and then some more. I fully expect DGB to go over 1Bil cap in 2018.

If you do not have an idea of which coins to choose yourself then you should not invest, it is that simple, this reminds me of the Warren Buffet quote that says that you should not invest in something you do not understand, you will be risking your money, do everything you can to learn how to tell when a coin has a future and when it is a project that you should not invest a single cent.

But I do not store them in wallets aside from the trading platform I am using. And I do not hold them for a long term goal. I buy and sell these coins depending on the price.

My favourite top 5 coins to invest are waves, ptoy, tenx, bat, and most of it is XVG the one that i invested a lot maybe i'm so lucky because i buyed 5 bitcoin when XVG just dump into 60 sats and as of now my money just tripled without doing nothing

Right now i invested based on some tips from a member here, in Radium (RADS) and Syscoin(SYS), which could moon anytime now. Other 3 coins i choose are Ark, Lisk, Iconomi.

Does your cryptocurrencies include BTC?

If yes, my suggestion will be BTC, ETH, LTC, NEO and XMR.

If not, i will replace BTC with OMG.

Hi, To choose top 5 currencies go through TOP 25 cryptocurrencies in coinmarketcap, read all ann threads, websites, forums, go to slack channel, research their social media, github page activity, devs acitivty and then try to make logical sense how this product makes a world a better place to live. Dont ever trust anyone with their best picks, thats the main point about cryptocurrency, you have to pay interest yourself and know whats what. If you want to put money in and forget about it - BTC, LTC and thats it. Even ETH is too young to put in money and forget, you may consider XMR, NEM and Ripple too as they are quite old too.

There are many coins that will flip 5-10x

my top pick is XCP, it will create smartcontracts via Bitcoin
other coins that I expect a lot of are SCORE, XtraBytes, Anoncoin (anonymous coins). I wouldn't invest in Monero (I liked it much, but transaction fees are too high), ZEC (they use zerocash which can be used in a bad way by developers, and if we are looking for cryptos they should not be altered/regulate by people)
Coins that DBT1033 mentioned Ardor, Syscoin, Florian I think are good picks (look what else he shills)
Some other people think highly of Solaris, I really don't know why but I invested a small amount in it.
A big sleeping giant could be RAIblocks #DYOR!
AdEx is a short term play that will do something nice.
WeTrust is a really nice concept, and could get rid of banks for good. It let stakeholders finance each other.
I liked Bitbay at first, but they want/are pegging the coin, which in my opinion is not good, so its a no go!

1) Bitcoin, because it's the only crypto that's guaranteed to stay on top. No matter what they say about ETH or BCH, Bitcoin will stay.
2) NEO, because it's got the same potential as ETH but it's not as far advanced in price, meaning it's got a ton of potential to grow

Do like your coins as well except from ripple. Could you tell me a bit why you like or bought waves BAT XVG and Stratis?

I recently bought XVG because of its anonymity. Apparently this coin is total anonymous. This compared to for example monero or dash where the transaction are just shuffled a bit and zcoin actually makes a new coin every time a transaction is to be made.

Like the advertising idea behind BAT, apart from this don't really know how and what this coin is.

Waves and stratis i like because of there easy blockchain. Makes it easy for other companies to start there coin or application on the blockchain of either waves or stratis. Ico for waves. Application for stratis

IOTA, I know it has a large market cap, but if they pull off what I think they can, it will be bigger, if not as big as bitcoin.

My favorite crytp currncy are listed below: Bitcoin,ETH,litecoin,Ox,Omg,stat and waves . but i cant able to hold all of them .I only bought some coin.will hold the for a long term investment. but if i had a lot of bitcoin now i will buy a lot of waves and stat now.
IOTA is also looking good and promising coin.
 

You have great choice and I am sure these coins are going to pay you off tremendously in near future. Bitcoins especially are going to make you rich within no time. If you are having bitcoins among the few coins you are holding, don’t take out them out of wallet until they touch 5k dollars.

For me, I will recommend BTC, ETH, BCH, NEO ,and MNC. Those coins will have a better value as time goes by, Also, even their values decreased it will pump to a higher value so it is better to invest on those coins.

start with the standard, ETH and BTC, ETH is already an altcoin so you're basically hedged and you can have a descent return

I think ETH have the potential to grow more and double his value. If you have blockchain account you can use eth with btc. They want to make eth bigger. So i think investing in eth will make you money.

Eth will rise as btc . Btc is now dropping, and eth is going to rise.

ETH - for buy some good token. (If u dont invest to ICO this is still a good coin)
LTC - Good dev, good marketing, many support
STRAT - Good coin, many update coming, many fan, ....some bad news about dev but doesn't matter

hi LixiR, any articulated reasoning about xrp or is just guessing? i invested a little of my portfolio in XRP but is already three months that is underperforming after the big pump. i know that is well above levels of 2016 but i hope last part of 2017 will take some news and movement

If you are that kind of person who likes to play in risky trades like me then what you should do is that when a coin gets launched and is not on an exchange or maybe on a not so well known exchange then you should buy that coin for cheap and hold and when it get listed on a well known exchange then sell it and there would be a profit of many folds.

Yes, it's safer than the smaller, easily pumped coins, and the profits are almost just as good in the long haul

Nobody will become rich by buying high value coins. Max profit you will get is 2-3x that too in long period.
Invest in shitcoins or low market cap coins there is higher chance you will earn higher profit or may be next millionaire  ::)

By doing that, you will face the greater chance that your investment vanishing to middle of nowhere.

And, there WERE people that actually become rich by buying high value coins, especially Bitcoin.

i hope you are right about Kickico, i am still waiting for my tokens to arrive (because invested spending BTC instead of ETH, so will have to wait for ICO ending). if i am correct ICO value is set at 3000 KC : 1 ETH and ETH was lower then today (at least when i invested also BTC was) so we can already aspect a small profit, but i think everyone is hoping for a higer shot

So true, these coins are well established so its platform and strong community support can be trusted.
Also look at the coinmarketcap.com and choose undervalued coins but still promising. I'm talking about waves, ltc and xrp and xmr. This is just an advice so better to do also some research and analysis.

NEO because I think NEO will bounce back in the next couple of months or sooner, Shift is something I've kept and believe it may end up being something but I don't know how active the team is, Civic, Waves, WeTrust, Humaniq, STEEM, ZCOIN, UBIQ, StealthCoin, OKCASH, MaidSafe. Those are some of my holds.

I miss ARK and Lisk. so sad. If I follow my friend I will be rich now. About NEO I think it's hard to recover for a long time because effect of China ban

i only know two because im beginner in terms of trading but i earn in xem and clam for this past few months,a little earning but i earn,monitor this two altcoins to see what i post here now i try to know the cycle of some coins like you i will read some of post also here to learn in some persons idea

- Bitcoin: You can invest but i suggest you to wait and buy bitcoins when the price is really low, and sell them when the prices are back at its normal form.
- Litecoin: Litecoin is for me the sleeping gold. It has the potential to rise and double his price.
- Dogecoin: Dogecoin is a small coin, but if you invest a little amount of money and it rises at price you can make some money out of it.
- ETH: ETH will rise for sure. It is like the next bitcoin for 2018. Blockchain already added ETH support so you can buy there BTC and ETH fast and secure.

Be careful with investing now, not only do weak hands leave the market, weak projects leave as well. Do your research and don't take anyones word for it, no one is unbiased
