Post by: TaKlarPH on September 03, 2017, 10:01:36 AM
Do you use Coinbase? share your good experiences while using this wallet and the bad experiences you tackled along the time you use/used this wallet.

For my fellow Pinoy I have a question for you.

Did you experienced good transaction and bad transactions? please do share what are those.

Coinbase is a legit service, and extremely good for people who are new to crypto. There's almost zero risk to be scammed, but their fees are pretty high, and make them alot less competitive for someone like me.

They might have delays with sending transactions sometimes, but you will always get your bitcoin/ETH/altcoin. They have a pretty good trust record and a good technical team, and they are making so much money that exit scamming is probably not worth it for them..

As for using them as a "wallet", i really wouldn't. It is much easier to just get a hardware wallet like electrum. This way you are not dependant on a third party like coinbase.
This goes for any exchange/market^

I'm not from the Philippines, so they might have different restrictions in place. After using coinbase for around 3 years, they have been very reliable and never had any problems with using them. I have heard they were blocking accounts that used gambling services, which seems a bit weird, but I'm not sure they are still doing that.

Probably has something to do with US laws which they need to follow. Coinbase is extremely regulated in this position.

Something i found from another thread,

" the federal government has a law - intended to ban online gambling - by making it a crime for any financial intermediary to service gambling companies and proceeds. "

Also, http://www.bitcoinbettingreview.com/coinbase-shutting-accounts-transferring-gambling-sites/ , It seems that this is only for US accounts?

I'm not entirely sure about that though.

Coinbase is horrible.
The site becomes low or offline as soon the Bitcoin value start seeing some big up or down. They don't wanna learn and improve their site because each time the situation happen again and again. So if you are in hurry t transfer out your coins because the price started to failed big or something like that, then you won't be able to log in.
Their support is also horrible: If you need any help and contact them, you won't get a reply, not even after a month. So imagine you made a deposit to buy some coins and your deposit is frozen (as it happens often) then your money will stay frozen for an unknow period of time.
