I like the pictures that this thread has and the amount of information on the current trend statistics. I've looked around this forum and I couldn't really understand why there is so many coins trying to prove that they can do something better than Bitcoin when they rely on an Altcoin for their ICO or for regular transactions.

This coin may not get very far because nobody will want to use this coin other than to make a little bit of cash on the side then they will dump the coin whenever they receive the opportunity to do so since it's not a real coin.

How does this benefit humanity? You do know that we're facing some very serious issues with the destruction of the environment, largely due to the needless excess of capitalism and consumerism, yes? Do we really need more self-absorbed individuals taking selfies while they wear the latest fashion to boost their egos gaining likes on social media? We need to find ways to slow down the consumption, not fuel it.

I admire your concern for the environment, but let's talk reality. Social Media and eCommerce are the two major industries driven through the internet right now, we all contribute to its growth. That being said there are two sides of every camp, we are in the pro-fashion, pro-entertainment, pro-nightlife camp.

So, What you call an ego boost is self expression to us, there is nothing wrong in providing yet another platform to express yourself, have fun and make some money while doing so.

Sorry, my turn to disagree now. Lots of people I know have abandoned social media because it sucks. It wastes your time and messes with your psyche, making you more concerned with what other people think about you, rather than paying attention to what's important. It detaches you from real relationships, and causes you to become more introverted. You idea plays upon the worst aspects of all that.

You could have chosen to make a better type of social media than the ones we already have, but you didn't. And when people point out that your idea isn't very good, you don't take it on board as constructive criticism, you choose to see it as opposition to your lifestyle choices.

Kind of reinforces my point that focusing on the wrong thing means you don't see the big picture.

Your point is well received, however we did not see any constructive criticism from you with your point telling us to shift our focus from being a startup looking to build a style and fashion friendly social network to saving the environment and getting into messed up human psychology.

The world is simple for us, we do not complicate things worrying about peoples psyche, our motto is to take one day at a time and the purpose is to always get back to having a good time.

By telling you about two camps is not to dismiss you as a person or your opinion, but rather to defend mine that I do not find anything wrong with building another social network. I guess it's part of the human psyche to think everything is about ourselves and miss the bigger point or picture. :)

As far as differentiation and building something different goes, we need to start somewhere and the market will give us feedback in which direction we need to go.

I have simple words to say about that matter, Even we say that lots of people has abandoned social media but do you think they will don't use it again, the truth is social media as of now is the effective ways in expressing ourselves our skills or talents to be recognize. We all habe different opinions and scope of limitations in our minds but the fact the most of us the people thinks can't live, have a beautiful.day without opening any social media sites. IMO.

TRENDS will be used in 4 ways on trending.me
1. To reward users for their participation in the community, for posting photos and curating the best content and making content "trending"
2. These rewards can be used to buy attire and clothing from trend stores, trend stores are eCommerce stores
3. Trend Stores advertise to the community using TRENDS as a payment method.
4. Users can send or tip each other Trends directly (This can be done via wallet directly also)

Trend Pool is a module that serves a critical function of automating payout to the users, a couple of points to note,
- Initially 26 Million Trends will be in the Trend Pool where half million TRENDS per week will be paid out to users in the first year
- All advertising revenue earned from Trend Stores and other advertisers on the Trending.me network will be circulated back to the Trend Pool
- In time as more users are onboarded, more orders are placed across trend stores, the value of TRENDS will appreciate

During ICO TRENDS can be purchased at 3000 TRENDS = 1ETH (price excluding bonus). With a limited supply of 61 Million TRENDS our market cap would be ~20000 ETH after the ICO.

With 15 Million TRENDS available in ICO, we are looking at funding of ~5000 ETH (approximation due to bonuses involved), for ICO to be successful we need to raise 25% - 40% of the amount, the renaming 75% - 60% can be raised during a next round after we have our BETA launch in January. Raising 25% to 40% in this ICO will be enough to expand the team and carry our project forward into the next few months.

Not yet, so do you mean if all tokens were not sold by 25%-40% means that it was already successful and the remaining unsold tokens will be prompted again to an Ico sale in january and it will not only a single ico. But i think your project is good so goodluck.

What we mean is, by raising 25% - 40% of the amount we are seeking, we would be able to expand our dev and marketing teams and be able to build our beta quicker and also bring in users through marketing effort.
After this release, the remaining 75% - 60% TRENDS can be used for a second ICO, however the price would from be 3 to 10 times more based on success of our Beta Launch.

Okay i get it. So what specific amount is 25%? for us to know it And it should be written in the OP so the people wouldn't ask it again this is the most problems with the ico. There is no such specific information that we can rely on.

Seems interesting but then to be honest I am not sure how you can bring the two world together. RDD coins tried that, meaning they tried to tip their users for blogs and social media but then never succeeded. Their Dev are still struggling to join the two world and along with few other challenges. Your concept looks good but honestly, this will require a lot of hard word.

With that being said, the fundamentals trending.me is based on are different from RDD. Trending.me is an entire platform while RDD is looking at integrating into several networks like reddit and youtube etc.

The two worlds can come together with ease of use,
1. For a regular user trending.me is another website where they would post photos and get paid, they do not need to know everything about crypto, they just need to understand TRENDS, how to earn it(by uploading photos) and how to buy it.
2. For merchants we are already using direct marketing to get in touch with them, hence we are educating them as part of the onboarding process.

It all depends on presentation of the project, this is something we are good at and will keep getting better at so the hard work is built in, more than a tech startup, we are a design startup. I have an impression and your concept is good and i want to ask some questions.

Do you have an escrow for the funds to be collected ?
How long it would take and the possible exchange for the coin to be traded?
Lastly, what is the assurance that the merchants will accept your coins?

I loved this project and its concept, also total amount to raise is very low and this is a very good thing.

Let me start with merchants,
We want to release our BETA by end of this year, our discussed marketing strategy to bring in users on trending.me is to go to colleges/streets in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Delhi. These are metro cities in India and a perfect market for us to start with.
We aim to bring in some style bloggers and influences as well. Hence, before we on boarding eCommerce stores, our phase 1 involves getting our beta out and getting users on the platform. Once the users have earned TRENDS and trends are paid out for at least 6 - 10 weeks we will then enable stores.

Soon after BETA launches while we on board users we will also on board at least 3 stores to start with. We did test visit to around 15 stores who already sell on amazon, they liked the idea and the visits gave us a lot of feedback. We would build an app that can aid right form uploading products to looking at and fulfilling orders. Some logistics questions did come up and we would tie up with a third party to start with. Also some of them did say they would like to be on a marketplace rather than be a "store" so we are looking at a marketplace model rather than a "stores" model. Some questions about taxes also did come up and we are researching these solutions. There is interest from merchants and we have to go through phase 1 to get there.

We do not have any escrow, my devs are exploring creating a smart contract, but we might not be going that route as we want to entertain contributions in BTC, LTC, XMR and few other currencies as well.
We are approaching for funding locally also, In fact with an initial local funding we were able to invest in a cool domain name to get this project going.

As for getting on exchanges we have not discussed internally as yet, this is on our to do list, it will be easier to get on an exchange once we have a BETA product out.

1) Will a person be earning just by posting photos? I mean take for example Instagram, where people post millions of photos each day. Are you saying that one would earn just by uploading photos which they like or after uploading photos, someone needs to like them for actual poster to earn?

3) The photos that needs to be uploaded should be in line with fashion and trends or can it be on any theme?

Users will be earning for posting pictures that "trend", basically the community curates the best photos and user are paid out based on popularity. So yes, someone has to like("heart") your picture to earn. Secondly, users who curate content in the form of quality comments and hearts will also be rewarded.

The Merchant concept is what ties the whole concept together, else TRENDS value does not appreciate without a clear cut way to use TRENDS. Majority of the users would not be crypto users and will not go on exchanges to convert TRENDS, so the marketplace comes to fill in this gap for the general user to use TRENDS

Yes, the photos that need to be uploaded need to be in line with fashion, style. We will also steadily go into nightlife, as there is an emerging nightlife market in India right now.

Yeah, you got the concept. Also, since posts are image based we need to guard users against irrelevant and pornographic posts, this is where the community comes in again and will get rewarded for flagging such content, so there is a chance for community moderators to earn also.

15M TRENDS have been allocated for the crowd sale(ICO) and another 5M for bounty, that makes a total of 20M from the fixed supply of 61 Million TRENDS will be released in the distribution on Oct 22 after ICO ends.
Another 10M TRENDS are going to be used to onboard ecommerce merchants with the prerequisite being that you need 5000 TRENDS in your wallet to become a Trend Store, they can purchase these Trends from us directly or from early investors who purchased them during ICO or from a user who has earned TRENDS by posting/participating.

Hi, there is no limit on how far we can take trending.me technology. Following is the overview of the first 2 major versions.

v1 in general consists of building the basic features of social networking and marketplace and also making sure the application can scale
- v1.0 will contain basic features of a photo social network, upload photos, get rewards, buy attire from stores
- v1.1 will contain features where you can start a style blog and also start upload videos, style blogs are required for brands and style bloggers/influencers
- v1.2 will contain scale implementation as we predict this is the point we will see influx of issues, so preemptive scale enhancements

v2 is where we introduce features creatively, we have one on the books right now
- Ability to tag a product available in a trend store while uploading a photo and video, we are excited about this feature as it provides an opportunity for a user to be an indirect affiliate of a trend store and can possibly get a commission if someone ends up buying the tagged product

Thanks for appreciating the project. We started working on this seriously end of July - August. We are in a rush, I agree but I think that's the only way to get things done. Right now we are around 5 people and we need more people on board. After bringing on the core team and working on the concept and developing the trending.me brand etc we have exhausted funds. We need to scale up technology and start spending on marketing the concept as soon as our alpha is ready.

I meant strange pictures on main page of ANN. Those pictures explaining how this works has images that appear to be edited photos of photos available on net (intuitively ;D)

And yes we can use icons etc available on the net in our graphics, who does not? What are you trying to prove here? You can make an argument that we can do better on image quality etc, we would appreciate feedback like this as we are a young team and constantly improving. But using words like "strange" etc is just baseless.

What's really strange is the way you communicate your opinion and the stranger thing is that you have a reputed rank on the forum. This is beyond me, but it makes sense as you can increase your post count going into every thread that offends you and post strange comments.

So ICO will be postponed, because the site is not informed if it has been postponed or not? It looks like some coins are coming out of the red.

ICO is not postponed, we stick to our schedule of ICO between 15th Sept to 20th Oct, that's over a month long. Also we have done our research and these red days are unpredictable. The best strategy is to go through them and wait it out. We realise we need to start getting comfortable with this uncertainty if we want to survive as a venture in crypto.

On web there is a lot of photos  but they are extlymly expensive.

As a feature we did debate a case where people looking for more than just stock photos could make a request in a section on the website, with amount they are willing to pay(In TRENDS) and the job description eg "Stunning Pose beside a motorbike by an Indian Woman in late 20s, needs to be above 5ft4". or "Couple having a meal at fancy restaurant with evening gown(female) and suit(male)"

Users on the platform can then take up these assignments where multiple users can respond and the selected photo gets the reward. All Participants will also be rewarded for just posting the pic as part of normal rewards. This feature is possible and we would need to streamline it into the normal flow.

I agree that our bounty marketing strategy can be way out there and hear me out, let me own this,

We are not your regular crypto project with a budget for marketing, just a startup looking to create something out of little with crowd support, so we need to reach out to the crowd. We have no budget to place banners on every forum and pay for ads at the start of every youtube video you watch. Our budget is aligned with what is required to build brand and technology. Don't believe me? We acquire trending.me for a huge sum, we pay for an incubator while we could have out of my own 2 bedroom apartment. We hired one full time engineer to work on this paying him his full corporate salary. These are essential.

Now to address the PMs, I do not see anything wrong with it, of course this is debatable. Communication is the basis on how relationships and creating new contacts are build, someone has to send the first message. Why would you not want to receive A(One) Message, We did not SPAM you with multiple messages, that is the actual definition of SPAM

And to say we sent a PM to every member on this forum is not right, an exaggeration, almost an allegation and the fact that you posted this in our ANN thread when in fact the message we sent to you was inviting you for bounty showcases that your intent posting here was malicious, to ruin us, to teach us a lesson while all you needed to do was ignore the message.

A privacy policy will exist and ensuring photos cannot be saved or downloaded is a good feature. Buying photos is an awesome feature too, we did not think of this. I think the possibilities where we can go are endless.

I`m not sure. Yesterday was the first ICO day, and Etherscan shows that there no funds or even 1 substantial transactions on their address. It is very strange or i`m doing something wrong.

Unfortunately we have not raised any funds as yet, this should change in the coming days.

really sad, out of 10 ico 9 are failed 100% , i am wondering if it would be better for dev to start to make airdrop instead , if the project is valid the value will come later

I remember that I was just walking around minding my own business and suddenly, there was a new message in my folder. So I thought to myself, this message could be from anybody so I accidently opened it and what I saw was pretty interesting.
The message contained a whole bunch of website links (8 links) and I am not including the links that weren’t clickable
Nothing but large amounts of text just waiting to get looked at.

a more aggressive promotion is needed for the ico to take place successfully, its so important that people start trusting in the project that they may even start asking for the ico, them selves, it a good project i still retain my word.

We need more time to prepare for ICO. Bounties will continue and participants will be rewarded when the ICO restarts with a smart contract in place.

What sense are you trying to make? Absolutely none, Sorry to be blunt with you but I've almost had it with no grammar, no common sense sentences that honestly look like thoughtless word vomit on my screen, Sending a PM does not make us scammers looking for an investment, please learn some basic common sense, we are an actual project, only common sense will tell you that. We do not boast of big affiliations and names just to raise funds, what we have is sweat equity and use our time effectively to build a real startup. All startups have problems and we sometimes do not hit our arbitrary targets. With lack of funding it will get harder to hit those targets.

ICO is postponed as we need more time to do media and make a smart contract for the crowdsale.
We also need to raise more funds to keep going, and we will raise funds locally like how we did earlier to kick start the project.

Well Yes i do, I would not make this conversation roll over , Im done with my words. I have a successful projects in real life (nothing to mention) its not like this an im assuring that i don't want this kind of things. I learned over some practices, conferences etc.

its a good idea for the dev to postpone the ico, when you see the turn up not so good you quickly go back to the drawing board, and thats what the dev has done, prepare more and give the project the audience and time it needs,

I agree it takes a lot of preparation and expectation for a successful ico and if the team sees that it is not met, they can always go back to the drawing board to look what must be added to make this ico a success I hope the announcement will be sooner than later.

I just don't see people who are into social media vapid trends to be too much into technology to use block chain.
