If you can only use the digital currency for one specific company, then it's not a real currency.  Does it fluctuate 1:1 with any specific fiat currency?  Then it's even more useless.

No, it's not like that. A company definitely starts a currency for payment for their products. But that currency can very well be used to buy other things provided vendors are interested in accepting that. As Bitcoin itself is struggling hard to gain acceptance among merchants and vendors. Such new coins definitely won't get much recognition though.

It makes sense to try and circumvent various economic events using cryptos, and seeing UAZ starting to sell their vehicles and accepting cryptos is definitely not something that I would expect, especially from a brand that I at least know a bit about. The question becomes whether or not the Bocoin will actually be useful for exchanging goods and services.

Whoppercoin, on the other hand, allows for people to directly buy food (assuming they go through with it) so that immediately has a lot of value for just basic survival.

Automaker UAZ already has a working product, they can easily integrate into their system their own digital currency. Not like others that needs a crowdfunding source. Maybe in Russia a well established big company can demand whatever they want. Not only accepting payment from car sales, but they can impose Bocoin payment to their suppliers and the supplier's supplier can also demand to accept Bocoin payment.

Its still going to be a joke and even a waste of time because I don't see how useful a coin can be if its only going to be used for a particular service or the purchase of one and nothing else which cannot even be exchanged for another currency unless first converting to fiat. All I see is all this looking for a way to also be relevant in the scheme of things without even doing it right.

if it is not bitcoin then it is not bitcoin! and it is not helping anything.
i've heard about the burger king thing and i still find it strange that they did something like that. when you create a centralized currency that only works in your own little circle that is not really efficient in my opinion. they have just added a big database to their business which will only get big and consume space and resources to hold it and people will continue using fiat!

That's a good outcome from an automobile maker creating his own digital currency and circulating for an ease of usage. Russia has got good support for digital currency. In the past south Korea made its own currency named Boscoin, which was done testing and haven't gained more popularity.

Are those scamcoins trying to look like blockchain gift cards? Will they be listed in altcoin exchanges? That would be funny because if something like Burgerkingcoin will become successful and widely adopted, then I am sure Mc Donald's and the rest will enter and also issue their own coins.

Will each coin be backed by 1 happy meal?
