Title: Trying to Mine on CPU with GUI Miner
Post by: LinuxCoiner on May 24, 2013, 03:46:31 AM
Hello!

The GUI Miner says that there is "Nothing to Mine On". Does that mean I need OpenCL.dll?

Feeling Confused - :-[

yeah you need open cl installed to mine.
GPU-Z will tell you if OPENCL is enabled
GPU-Caps Viewer too

however mining cpu is pretty pointless

This...

All you are doing here is heating up your CPU and warming your house. Most CPUs won't give very many hashes at all compared to the ASIC devices that are in the wild now.
