Title: taking cryptos off exchange/where to store?
Post by: DeepTerrfici on September 04, 2017, 04:01:18 AM
I'm taking my cryptos off the exchange. I see enough warnings about storing cryptos in exchange accounts. A number of them, I was able to send to myetherwallet addresses. Some I'm having trouble finding wallets for are BCN, DCR, STEEM, STR, XEM, XRP, ZEC. Are there paper wallets available for these like the ones I can create with myetherwallet?

Send from an exchange to myetherwallet ?

Both are online services so you still are vulnerable.

At least with myetherwallet you have your private keys

A idea could be to get some paper wallets for them if you are looking to store the coins and not constantly use them.

Just make sure you store the paper wallet in a safe place and then take control of it when you want to use/sell.

Just an idea

there was a website which looked very much like bitaddress.org and did exactly what you wan: create paper wallet for many altcoins: here is the link: https://walletgenerator.net/
it supports 150 cryptocurrenices already.

this is not a feedback on its safety though. i am just mentioning that it exists. you have to judge if it is safe to use it or not.

also remember that when you create a paper wallet you need to spend it some time. and for that you eventually have to install the original wallet and waste a lot of time syncing with the network.
