Me personally, a couple thousand $.  :(

For me it's 0.3 bitcoin plus 1 ether plus 100 usdt. Total loss is around 1500-1600 usd. I don't know how to get them back again. I'll chase all of the trade opportunities.

That's not the way to think about your investment and trades. This is not a loss but an opportunity to get more investment for us. Think about the price going down today is nothing but a chance to get more coins. A smart person would choose this option because they know that the price is just dependent upon current situation if market and news in the world.

It will disperse soon in the future and the price will start increasing again. You will get your today's loss covered as well as if you put some bucks in then profit on top of it.

I was going to lose some today but since I just played with BTC, am actually in profit. If I had put some in altcoins then I would have definitely lost in the panic as well as fluctuations. Some of the altcoins touched all time low. Interesting to see that more people are interested in ICO's and they may get a huge return in upcoming months.

Most altcoins today are in red mode--dump mode so i didn't sell anything although i have three altcoins i invested in and plans to harvest them in a

few months or if a major pump happens. today i just bought a few coins and might bought a few more if it continues to dump since its one of my

strategies to only bought as much as possible during dump and only sell during pump. so yeah no profits nor lost today, for now lol

Not a single buck :) :) I am in loss today but I will lost my money when i sell them.But i am not going to sell my coin right now.I will hold them untill it raised again.There are no los in crypto until you dump or sell your coin in a low price.I never support it.I dont need quick money.I like to hold coin and earn some good money investing my noney and time.

Not much. I think i bought at the lowest price, but after that the price still continue to down.
luckily i set some capital backup. i still have some money, so i can buy at the dip. More down, more good

I will put it this way.

If i cash out everything, meaning turn to fiat, i would be around couple of big $k in total loss (more or less).

But since i wont do that, due to obvious reason, will wait for more appropriate time. But I wonder if i'll ever sell.

if in a total of a few days I have suffered a loss of $1000 because the price is suddenly dump not just 1 coin only but all this coin is a nightmare for me during life.

why would you lost it ?
are you using leverage ? or just a normal trade ?
you're only lose it if you buy it high and sell it low,if you do not do that you will not lose anything.
it's a normal cycle in my view,because we will see another bull run a month before another hardfork and chain split.
i don't anything from this down trend at the moment,and do not use leverage right now because we will see $4000 soon.
or at worst we will see sub $4000,but it will get pump again in the next 2 weeks or week.

it's not surprise dump,
everything is calculated by them my friend,we have been pumped so hard for a month or around that time.
so it's not really surprising for us to see something like this.
and iam sure we will see another ATH this month or next month.
just be ready to buy as much as you can in the bottom and hold it tightly

Bitcoin and Altcoin prices are all down now.
most of my funds are in altcoin.
XEL = 30% and TKN = 50%
if sell it now i got a loss of about $ 2000.

in this 2 week period I have lost about 0.04 BTC from XRP and 0.1 BTC from REX and about 0.05 btc from IXT
And for anymore tokens I have just hold them

The big question to ask yourself is WHY DID I LOSE MONEY TODAY?

I lost 30% in QTUM, BCC and also XEM.

You are not losing money but losing time in time unless you sell it to yourself that you will find it harder to lose when you sell a loss especially if you have no plans to revive your losses. it's good to do that you buy again at a lower price if you do not have the option to spend the market flow for your losses. do not worry about returning the price to the highest and then repeating it especially bitcoin.

Be patient, everything goes down, will goes up :)

I don't trade more frequently but I have some investment in Bitcoin and altcoins. My portfolio is showing a loss of nearly 10% but yes, it was expected and I am going to accumulate further considering long term speculative gains. I am aware of the crypto markets and its wild behaviour so I am investing slowly and I can bear the loss up to 60% to 70% for my portfolio as I did the research focused on the long term market environment.

How's that even possible you almost lost 95% of your money and that's not possible because most alts fell by max 25% unless you invested in some shitcoin well that's kind of your fault.

Regarding the thread i lost around $400 i wouldn't mind this as i was aware something like this is going to happen but i didn't want to sell it because it was invested on crypto games bankroll and this is crypto world the more we hold the more profit

Perfect investing pattern, only if you invest this way of split and invest now you are able to invest more in this dip and average your investment price so that next pump of price you will be in profit very soon. Only the shitcoins where Chinese were involved will get dead other good altcoin will pump back to high price in some time.

It is quite unpredictable to tell if we would experience loss in terms of our tradings in bitcoin. Because for me it is important to know and to analyze the price of bitcoin so we could avoid unwanted loss specifically on holding in bitcoin. And for altcoin it just the same on how we are going to deal with our bitcoins that could be good if we are going to set tradings and  target price to know the probable causes of your transactions.

patience is a virtue even with some big reds indications its always needed to us to learn the drill crypto is full of surprises so who knows
tomorrow rebounds will happen and the value of such investment will be doubled,.

Dude! Are you planning to keep your coins forever? Now is not the right time to sell out bitcoins but there was a time, just two days ago, and again there will be a time when selling out bitcoins will give huge profits. Also, sorry for your loss but don't get upset because it will be recovered soon.

Bitcoin has passed a much more difficult time than this.
BTC still lives in the market with a great reputation.
One of the main tools of the trade is patience
It is not possible to do Trade on online without patience.
There is no loss to me till now But if I had lost patience and sold out All coins then I would have suffered losses now.
Holding coin is the best and main policy of crypto market.

I'm on your boat :( I didn't managed to hold my coins out there for too long, a panicking trader will be having its regret at the end. When we are on the greener days, I realized that trading isn't for the type of people like me because I keep on looking on the charts and worried about it which lead me to lost thousands of $. What a pain.

I have gone through such experience, I had my investment in one coin and within a week it was showing the loss around 30%. I was expecting the rise in the price within a month or two so I decided to keep it as it is and wait for the change that I expected. Soon the situation started changing and price started rising, then within the period of few weeks, the same investment was showing 10%+ profits so it not only covered the loss but also made little profit.

To think about recover your losses sometimes could make you under pressure.
So better don't do it , just learn more and be patient more than you has before.
Trading always about that , and profit will come to you by itself , don't forget to use only the amount that you can afford to lose.

For now, i do not experience to lost, because i am on the stage of learning on how to trade, and i do not want to lost my capital if i will start investing in trading method, i am expecting that is would be more profitable for me to increase my earnings.

a few days back in my opinion is a bad day for traders, I'm sure many people who experience losses on a large scale. including me, I also lost almost 50% and it made my head dizzy.

Yes bitcoin prices do move hugely due to its volatility nature in pricing. Thus after reaching 4k ystd it started to bounce back and again today its trading above 4400$ per btc. So quickly the price has recovered and probably those who had hold on and be patient would have being relieved due to this comeback.

Also I think OP is referring to notional loss say you got at 4800$ and now its 4400$ so probably 400$ per btc is the loss though its just notional amount and not realized one.

Yeah man, sorry to say but that does not also make sense to me, "I wonder if I will ever sell". If we won't sell our coins then how are we supposed to make profits and how can we do trading?

Ive experience of losing btc during trading days. As far as I remember I lose for about 0.1btc due to panic selling. In trading there is a great patience and timing when to buy and when to sell in order to gain profit.

Yes you don't have patience then surely you will lose money in trading. The market will make you become panic like that every day the price will vary. So you should be very calm while doing trading. Especially when you invest on any coin don't take any sudden decision let's wait for some time 100% your coin will grow.

I must say that you have a very good luck. You learnt a very great lesson which most of the investors even don’t know and they are losing a lot of their money due to panic selling.

You need to e more careful in future in order to prevent yourself from getting more loss. Patience is the only key to success.

Really sorry, I'm not daily trader and only calculate after end of the month. But last month I lost almost 40% from my money ( $ 200 ) and that's make me really angry and stress. I can accept if lost because the market, but this time just because I can't control my emotion. Bad day and bad attitude, don't ever lost emotion control. Thank you.

When I compute all of my loses, I found out that it was $1000-$1500. For me it is big amount of money and I want to earn many money so that my loses will replace by profits.

My portfolio is down for almost 50%. It's really a bloody season for altcoins right now and its kind of depressing to check  it so sometimes I avoid looking at it.

I thought I was the only one who lost on trade, but many people same with me. Since i started trading about 6 months ago I have lost 0.2 BTC included my profit because I play altcoin and the prices of altcoin that I bought is going down, maybe in the future I will focus with bitcoin which is more promising than altcoin

Around 500 bucks so far. Plus potentially I lost 500 bucks more, I bought XRP instead BTC in this july. 

There no winners on trading field buddy! Loses would really be a normal things on this field and speaking on my situation about loses i do believe that i lost for about $5000 over all on my entire trading career which i do believe that i already recovered it as the times goes by because i am getting a better trader everytime i do make trades and gains experience.For sure there are lots of traders who do lost even more higher than me.

Today I do not have such large sums, but the fact is that I'm more careful about tea and the other is also a small amount of Bitcoin. The fact is that in the first place I sell Talking back the etherium and then I sell the etherium on Bitcoin. I lost around 0.009 bitcoins this week trading NEO which dropped its price from 0.009 to straight 0.005. Fortunately, i did not invest much on it but just 0.019 and today cancelled my old trade and sold them at 0.01 as i did not find any hope for getting my desired bet very soon. It is how alt coin trading actually works i guess. Sometimes profit, sometimes loss.

I must say that you have lost a big amount and that too in just one day. I will suggest you to control your nerves so that you may be able to start your next day with more motivation in order to compensate loses and that you can manage to earn a good amount of profit. You can still make a lot of money, you need to learn from your mistakes.

That is why i dont do trading anymore, i just trade when i see a good opportunity. But holding is better, you dont need to check the charts every hour, or even minutes, only at the end of the day if you want to check your profits.
But one you are acostumbrated to hold, you will realize that there will always be downdays, and maybe one day you will be in -50% profit, and next day you are gonna be in 60% in green. So it is better to hold, doesnt matter what

Because my investment is small. 50 $ my losses, I hope I get it back because I really need money. Hopefully the price of bitcoins will increase again because I've also lost $ 150 and have not recovered. I feel, you feel because your losses are bigger. To me because it's just $ 300. But it's a great deal when it's replaced by our money

Yes I agree to you that holding altcoins now is better because it is the time where the traders are wanted to buy at low price and others are panicking to sell their coins to avoid big losses but if you have a strategies in trading where you know if it is the right time to sell in order to buy low and sell high in order to create more income.

Well trading and investment are somehow similar to gambling but trading and investment of course can be more profit and chances of losing is lower than gambling. My point is there is always a risk, but losses only gives us experience and that experience will grow and might get us to the top of trading.

You well not loss if you don't sell on lower price.  It's only called paper loss but not an actual loss. Just let it stay until it rise again and sell it.

Actually it was too hard to calculate and for me there's nothing to compute woth the total lose , i compute what my winnings are because computing what you've lose is such a waste of time.and it is a negative effect.

Ya talking about the negative things will make you week.If you want more success means,you have to do the job very wisely.I am not only saying about the trading but also about the entire thing in your life. You should make many success to tally the loss of money. Only with the profit it can be possible.

Its normal for having those price depreciation knowing bitcoin is volatile when it comes to its price.If you did convert your altcoin into bitcoin then it might still a good move.This is how trading works,we should be wise on the things we do in order to make profits in any move that we do.Failing is always been part of learning but later on you would really got used to it and would able to figure it out on how market works.

By just looking at the prices i know my wallet is bleeding, but i just don't login hehe, i rather wait till is a bit up, so when i check my losses, they are not as bad as they are now  :P

Not much. I have converted all of my bitcoin and altcoin into USDT right after Charlie lee made a tweet about Chinese exchange. I expect that the price of bitcoin will be lower than $3500. I will collect more if it hit that price haha. Thanks for the rumors. Everything is now brighter again :D

I lost around 2k, which is most of my profits. Seems like a good time to buy more though :)

I keep FIAT most of the time (I do day trading) so the drop today and yesterday didn't hurt me, actually made 5% today. I am finally in the green this month (lost 40% of mi initial investment before I started to slowly recover and make good trades). 19% gain on my initial investment so far, which is great, even though it's less than 1000$ (I plan to slowly add money each month, looking at long term gains with as little risk as possible).

I'm down a few thousand dollars and am waiting for the market to recover.

I cannot say that i have lost it as i have not sold it but by value wise i am in 5k loss but i have faith that within 2 or 3 days the price will be back above 4500 level , so i will be buying tomorrow as i will be getting some fund.

The overall value of my portfolio has fallen by about 20% from a little over 11000 to 9000 now. But I sold nothing so if the price recovers in the future then I will not have lost anything and I never even had that dollar amount so from my initial position I have gained money, it is always important to remember that in my opinion.

I bought bitcoin when the price is low so If I sell it even the price decreased I can earn profit but I will not sell it I will hold it for few months and few years. I think I lost profits hundreds dollars but it is okay because I believe bitcoin increase again so if that happen my lost profit will be back and I gain profit and maybe it will be higher than the profit that I lost and ofcoarse all of you earn profit if you hold your bitcoin.

I never put any of my own money into bitcoin, so technically I am always in profit. However, just going off the past week I've "lost" about 400$ worth of USD from market fluctuations. It's really not much of an issue for me, I'm positive Bitcoin will rebound after people realize that China banning it is not the end of the world. I don't think it'll be able to reach 5000$ again very quickly, but it will definitely stabilize soon.

Looking at the market prices I know that if I converted into fiat now, I will definitely lost half of my profit. I still have faith that bitcoin would recover again just like what happened before. I am not sure but maybe the cause of bitcoin's dump is the bitcoin ban of China. I hope not.

If bitcoin would continue to go down I will not panic. I will hold my bitcoin and wait for the price hike again.

For me if the market is falling, it's an opportunity to buy more coins because if you believe that bitcoin rise again you still have your profits and gain more unless you sell it during low price for sure it's a loss.

im totally in hodling-mode and didnt sell any coin, but my portfolio went down around -800€ - but nevermind, all my coins are from profit and im only trading these. as well i bought some more coins after the dump from saved profitfiat and now its time to wait!  ::) ;D

I'm stop trading day long time ago. My biggest lost is 50k$. And if I hold till now I can gain 200k$ just by hold. So I stop trade

40k ripple at 0.4$. now with 0.2$ I lost total 8000$

I lost investment including capital all a total of $500 last month because the investment site was a scam lesson learned. Today i focused in signature and twitter campaign with no investment but time consuming and i just hope that this time it will not be lost and wasted because to much effort and time are already invested and i may stop dreaming for bitcoin if this will happen.

Not a single Satoshi. I am a day trader. I always trade for profit. Today I eaned .015 BTC. Although Bitcoin price is so low, if Bitcoin price were so high, So I earned more.

I lost total 45% my balance in 4 months, some stupid lossing price of bitcoin and altcoins are talking away . Haizzz

Of course if that amount is from profits you earned in past time, you do not need to care.
But be a trader, you should have a look about this loss and reseach the reason make loss this money, it will useful for the road growth in trading of you.

Haven't lose anything yet since i'm for the long holding, and this price drop isn't really of any concern to me. I actually bought a couple of more btc just a while ago. Day traders are probably the ones that are losing quite a lot right now

In the dump scenario, you are the right track all most but if you to be a regular trader you have to take initiate for long time holding some amount to get a huge pump. otherwise you missing some promising profit.

i will not say i lost because i have not sold anything yet . you dont lose untill you sell. but yeah my portfolio is down by almost 20%. i will try to accumulate more in this situtation.

this is the cycle only dont sell your bitcoins and altcoins this year in month of july bitcoin down by 50% but in a month the price go so high like 70% both of you say you lose but i think if you sell that you will really lose now,if i have that money i will not sell that now because i think bitcoin will go so high at the end of a year base on speculation

What I have lost today in this scenerio is what I termed 'unrealised loss'. I believe quite a number of people will fall in this category because the loss is one that have been made by the reason of holding, the loss came as a result of the drop in the value of our investment from what it was some days back and not as a result of sale.

Currently, I have an unrealized loss of about $100 because I made some some not too long ago and that was when the price was in the region of the $4,500 but the loss will soon turn to real profit soon.

You were quite lucky then. I think you need to look for long term investment so that you can get a huge amount of profit at the end. Earning this much of profit and that too in just one day surely means that you are very good at it. You only need to make the right decision of investing in Bitcoin for a longer term; this will help you earn more.

I have not lost much as I have not seriously going into trade. I only trade few times and I thing lose close to just$12. I hope to remain successful after I enter into trade fully. Having lose so much money in forex trading I decided to be careful when going into altcoins and Bitcoin trading. If you trade with good money management policy in trading you will hardly lose money and with time become a professional trader.

Over $1k sadly.... Hoping for a recovery lin in July tho, i believe it can happen.

As long as you don't sell while the value is down, you do not lose any money. HODL until the price recovers.

I lost - 500$ , haha . Cause when the moment i knew about Bitcoin, I already save it til now not selling. But sometime i did lost some with gambling but if it count as BTC i still make a good profit 500$. Holding Bitcoin for a saving is not a bad ideal at all. Just Believe in it. Bitcoin will pay you back.

I was not much affected by Bitcoin because I switched to USDT to avoid a market crash. I think now the market is recovering very fast and we should buy as many BTCs as it will surely return to the $ 5000 price.

I lost... Many thousands in fiat. I won't get into the details but I was sub August 14th prices. That was a crappy chart to look at. This recovery was so much quicker and smaller than I thought it would be though. It's pretty amazing.

I lost 40% in terms of USD. Mainly because I was big in NEO.

I assume the OP means 'how much did your portfolio drop in value' as selling would have been crazy anyway. Only day/short traders would be stressed by these large dips, the long term traders like myself just buy in times like this. In fact my BTC trade yesterday is already seeing a huge return as the price has corrected upward significantly.

I dont look at my portfolio in value terms, as much as I look at the weight of the bag. Example, selling 10btc 4 days ago and buying back 14.5btc  yesterday. The end game bag size is more important to me than focusing on how every dip/spike affects my overall current value at any given time.

For me is 0.05 after a huge dropping of Busrtcoin :(

Sometimes losing is inevitable when money is concerned, I can't blame my friend for losing a couple hundred dollars for any reason but still I will compliment him because he tried hard not to, but in the end weak hands when accompanied  with a panicking mind many decisions can be fetal to investments. That's a set back for him but inexperienced maybe the cause of this and lack of knowledge how market behaves. I hope he learned his lesson the hard way.

When you just HODL there's nothing to worry because you didn't lose anything. But the moment you sell while the drama is not yet over and you already lose.
Well I lose some last two months ago when I sold my adex and later on it pumps really hard. All I can do is *palm on my face upon seeing the price. I lose maybe 0.7 and that's my very frustrating story.

So far I haven't lost anything because the majority of my coins I have earned not bought and the rest I got on much higher price. The last few days in the largest problems were users who have bought their bitcoins at the highest price before the drop and then started to sell it when price begun to fall. That was a very bad decision.

i think i am not having too much loss and i still can make profit although bitcoin and altcoin price is down because i am buying the coins when the price is at cheap price. and now, i only need to waiting for a while until the all coins is increase. i am trying to be bag holder and yes i make decent profit with this and until now, if i sell right now, i still make profit.

An 'unrealized loss' is still a loss. Its like pulling a blanket over your head so you can't see the wreckage of your trade.

This statement is only true if the market is guaranteed to always go up in price.
Why do you believe that this market will ALWAYS go up?

Spoiler alert; I think that Bitcoin will recover and go higher in the future, but I also think that it has further to drop and will reach lower lows in the near term. Around $2500 for Bitcoin and $100 for Ethereum.

a few days ago I lost 50% of my money, when Bitcoin price throw away and make all red altcoin. until now I'm still trying to do a hold with the coins I have. in the hope that everything will come back to normal.

Way too much, more than I am willing to admit. It will slowly go back up tho, I can wait.

Did you create this thread just to tell everyone how much you lost? Sorry that you lost, but there are people that lose more than this because of trading... So don't think of it like of an end of the world (if you're very sad about that.)

Is it really losing though, more like your capital taking a hit? I mean the currency doesn't disappear.

Today, I start trade with bad mood and finally lost $ 200 and 0.5 eth. I have serious problem about emotion control and patience, this is my second loss on this week. My analyze is good and money management is so wisely, but when enter real market always take the wrong option, not the same with my analyze. Keep hold and finally cut loss. Maybe trading world is not mine, or just because only me?. Don't waste your time to analyze something but ignore the result. Have a nice a day. 

I've started September from buying some ETH, BTC and LTC. During all that time its price is going down, so I don't calculate everyday loss, just waiting when it will be growing again and I'll be able to calculate the profit

I am up 100% on my investment (600 euro) this month thanks to the China ban.
