Title: WARNING: Poloniex blocking clients from contacting them, SCAM in the making?
Post by: Retired on September 04, 2017, 09:10:55 PM
They are actively blocking clients on their social media profiles.

If they don't just ignore them but actively prevent them from contacting Poloniex, I think there's a quite fair possibility that all the problems Poloniex is having are connected between them.

I'd a problem with my funds on polo, i just try to deposit a little amount to my account and my accounts has been suspended due to the unknown reason. Poloniex is shady ass hole. The team behind the polo is the greedy person.
They are blocking the user's account too.

It's insane looking at how many unsatisfied customers Poloniex is dealing with nowadays ~ in some cases people tend to exaggerate the situation, but a large part of the complaints are well justified.

Not exactly sure why they are not doing everything to satisfy their traders, but if things continue like how they are right now, Bittrex will grow even larger due to Polo users making a switch.

Browse through every social media platform and you'll see people complaining about tickets not being handled, verification not taking place even after a month, frozen accounts, and the list goes on ~ good job Polo!

Day by day complaints against polo multiplied having almost the same problems from their users. And I don't know if someone of them resolved already.
You have to stay away from this exchange for the better. I will not wonder if one day their service suddenly closed without even telling their users.

I think people should be careful and keep their funds out of Poloniex.

They are showing all the signs of scam in the making.

Honestly they are worst exchange from before and until now they are doing the same thing. if you care about your coins better to take them out and move to other safety place where you can trade without any issue.. the support are also worst and i think there are only few people operating  the poloniex and maybe they are bankrupt to hired someone to help their website active in support..
I was honestly experience of 3 times in poloniex and now i didn't trust them so i think if you love your coins .. you can try to go in cex.io or cryptopia..

We ve been listening about Polo going down for months but they still NO.1 crypto exchange. I do have to say I do not like the way they treat their customers but you can always choose an alternative option, Bittrex or Kraken.

my Poloniex account was wiped out clean beginning of year

the annoying part was I received the email notification saying unusual login when I was sitting at the pc , first thing I did was change password and request account to be locked .. never got locked ... an hr later all gone

and this other person managed to login 3 times within that hr after I changed passwords multiple times !!!

Do you have any proof for this? I understand that they are not responding to support requests and so on but this is the first time i've heard anyone say that they are actively blocking people on social media platforms.

If true, then this is definitely a sign of an exchnage that has liquidity problems or others that will probably force them to go scam soon.

Even without this no accusation i think that nobody sould be using them. Deposits and withdrawals are held up every single day, and support seems dead.

That sucks, I'm sorry to hear that.

But just to clarify... there's email confirmation for any withdrawals. Did they manage to somehow change the email address associated with your account? Or did you forget to change your email password when you saw the unusual login?

Maybe I'm thinking about this the wrong way, but it seems like even if you didn't have 2FA, you'd need to have both your account and your email compromised. That leads me to ask: were you using the same password for both services? :-X

I moved call my trading off of Poloniex and moved to Bittrex.  It's shame because I enjoy the manual trading experience on Poloniex much more; and they're UI design is much better.  However, I was having increased anxiety over the security of my funds as well as numerous errors when doing API calls to their platform.  I rest easier now but I'd like to return if they can sort their stuff out.

This is really bullshit, I am quite sure that poloniex is also having financial trouble apart from shortage of staffs. They should have enough money to hire thousands of new staff to handle support requests if they are unable to handle the number of tickets they are getting everyday. But they are not doing this for months, I have already moved my funds out of polo because sooner or later they might get bankrupt.

As far as I am concerned, poloniex is a confirmed scam, or maybe they have been taken over by the feds. Stay away people!

There are being reported increasingly complaints and problems against them. I have not been victim of one of them yet and I deposit and withdraw without problems there. I only deposit and withdraw small sums so maybe it is this that they don't bother scamming my deposits and withdrawals. I would also advise to change exchange after reading a lot of threads complaining about their service.

Unfortunately, It will give another reason for the medias to talk badly about Bitcoin to tarnish its image. And some people will learn by the hard way why it is not good to let the coins sleeping on exchanges. I hope you're still able to transfer out your coins, if you can do it asap before it's too late

I fortunately got out my funds in june before the issues began. Wanted yesterday login. Couldnt. Tried to recover my password and got an email with recovery link. Link goes to nowhere. Wanted to submit a ticket on their site but also that is not possible.
Now I will try to delete my account.
Poloniex seems to go down soon.

it's the constant glitches that scare me more than anything. so many features of their site simply do not work like they are supposed to. when you combine that with the notion of missing deposits and withdrawals? very scary! i had the same feelings about bitfinex last year before they got hacked...... the constant glitches in their interface and server outages in the early summer should have convinced me to get my funds off back then. i'm not making the same mistake with poloniex.

unfortunately, i'm hearing reports that even BTC withdrawals are not immune to getting stuck. again, very scary....... :-X

It began for my experience in june as they had many ddos attacks and I began to doubt about polo as they removed the troll box. The next big doubt was, as my friend suddenly had bad trades without doing them himself. We thought he "just" was hacked because he hadnt 2fa but the same was reported here in forum. So sorry about this situation. Polo was really great.

Can you please just show something that called "proof" . Need proof in every reports to make it more trustable. If not all words you say are just words and nothing more.

Well, it is still quite unclear whether it was just a bug on his end that somehow restricted him to view others' profiles or the owner of poloniex actually blocking him. I can't really confirm from that alone that they are blocking users on social platforms.

But your point still stands, imo. Stay away from poloniex wherever you can, use it with only small amounts only if they have a coin that is listed on no other exchange(probably nothing, really).

Them not responding to support requests is as bad as "blocking people".

Well even without this problem they are still a very very shitty exchange that nobody should use.

They don't answer support tickets, withdrawals are stuck in "awaiting approval", deposits are delayed. Just a dysfunctional exchange, yet everyone seems to still use it for some reason and think that it is safe to store money on.

If they are really blocking people on social media then it's definitely because of the recent issues that were mentioned before. They removed the trollbox as well meaning that new users can't see complaints.

This. I don't even care whether they are "blocking" people or not. It's becoming painfully obvious that these problems run deeper than a simple support backlog. Check their twitter, or the Polo subreddit. You can instantly find dozens of people complaining of stuck withdrawals for weeks and even months. This says "Cryptsy" all over it!

Yesterday I transferred half my funds from Poloniex and today I transferred the other half. I transferred via litecoin to keep fees lower. In both cases transfer took less than 30 minutes. I had nothing against Poloniex as reason for transfer. From these 2 transfers I cannot complain against Poloniex. Quick transaction with no problems.

Deposit funds (money or cryptocurrencies) is always an easy thing, nothing will hold you to do it, but most people have problem when they want to withdraw their funds which takes more than 24 hours, or never even processed. The thing is, this problem does not happen to everyone. only few unlucky users. But, still a problem to consider before you inject funds to their wallet.
