Chinese government recognized all of ICOs are illegal,all of related platforms must stop offering services for ICO projects,it seems that is just a start,the regulation of ctyptocurrency is on the way.
Some ICOs refund to their investors already,but this event has an effect on cryptocurrencies including bitcoin,the prices droped seriously.
How do you think of that? Good or bad?

Yeah this is a great crisis for all. And I think that it is not good for all of us to experience this. As we all know,  chinese people are onto the greater for good of their business.

Looks like the Chinese government is getting more and more strict especially with cryptocurrencies and since there is an element of scam in these icos, that is probably why they banned it. This is good though, since we will see less scam icos, and scam icos would be more afraid due to the strict rules made by the chinese goverment.

I think icos need to be more regulated, right now they look like an easy scam method.

Chinese government just banned all ICO while the hotel heiress, Pris Hilton is promoting some ICO. According to what I've read a while ago, the rule of internet is invest on what China banned. Lol. I have have high hopes on the cryptomarket. I'm pretty sure that it will recover in no time and everything will be back on track.

People are just looking for the reason to panic...and this is what is the current behavior of people in the exchanges. China is not anymore where the biggest volume of buyers coming from...it is already Japan so somehow this panic is unfounded. And I am sure that soon Bitcoin can be back rampaging because actually the Chinese government has not yet banned Bitcoin...it is just the ICOs released in China and maybe also forbidding their citizens to participate in ICOs though this can be so hard to implement since there are now so many moneyed Chinese and they can go abroad to do what they want.

I am hoping though that soon China will instead come up with stricter rules and regulations for any ICO applicant. China does not want to be left behind with the global trends and there can be powerful lobby within the country to allow ICOs but must have stricter laws to follow.

This is the saddest part of this new chinese policy. The market for bitcoin as well as for many alts is pushed upward partly because of the chinese market, which is very big considering that the population there is also very large. The business people there who are into BTC and altcoins are now thinking twice since this new policy is really disastrous to their investment. Hence the dip of almost all coins right now.

I think not only ICOs,but also cryptocurrency,need to be regulated,thus can have a long-tren healthy development.

Good decision on China's part. Most (like nearly all) ICOs are rubbish pump and dump schemes. This news may have a very short term negative affect on Bitcoin, but the real impact will be seen in the ICO market...as it should. When people talk about Bitcoin in a bubble, what they really mean is that there are 100s if not more of these ICOs are illusions of value. There's zero reason to support nearly all of the alternative cryptocurrencies. They offer no new enhancement or evolution beyond the existing Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether, Dash, Monero options.

Good on China... they aren't banning crypto currency, they're protecting their citizens from getting scammed by pump and dump ICOs.

I thought this event would not be such a big deal and things would be the way it was but I guess I was wrong. The ban of ICOs in China had such a huge impact on bitcoin's and altcoin's prices. Most of the coins lost its value. I think the investors sold all of their coins to not suffer from huge losses and thats why bitcoin and altcoins had a huge drop in price. Many people including me took this opportunity as an advantage and made good money on those fluctuations. Bitcoin had fluctuations frequently. People were buying and selling all over.

I think it's good for the future of bitcoin, but it will have a lot of bad impact for the world of the world, many have stopped working in the real world and working the world of cryptocoin, of course they will be at a disadvantage, so the new rules will have good or bad impact

I'm sure people are monitoring the price and this event, kinda different from all the events or news from the past but I'm sure Bitcoin will get back for sure we have been to this so many times before what makes this different is the government of China now showing restrictions

I think the Chinese government's decision to ban ico has little effect because China is one of the world's economic powers, maybe if china knows the development of the government's crypto will change their policy, that's my opinion

Bitcoin has always been tricky business in China. In the early days, it was really difficult to set up crypto-currency exchanges. So many of the exchanges moved to other jurisdictions such as Hong Kong and Macau. But now the Chinese government is a bit more accommodating. They are allowing mega Bitcoin mining farms and several exchanges to operate legally.

BS, The Chinese government could care less about their citizens. They are trying to protect their local currency < Renminbi > from taking too many knocks. The investments into ICO's are currency leaving China and they see this as a form of capital flight.

Another stunt from Chinese to cause a massive panic sell out, instead of giving them what they want be smart and keep calm, nothing will happen if you don't dump.

To be very honest, I was waiting for such a move. It is not very surprising from China because they have already done stunts like this in the past like in 2013. What I think is the massive investments of local currency in unregulated ICOs forced Chinese government to take this step. Well, I am as cool as I was last week. This storm will also pass.

You know what dude, you are damn right. It is nothing new from China and now they are planning to resume ICOs again with some sort of licensing regulations. Some people are also saying that China has banned exchanges but it hasn't yet. You see, humans like making fuss out of nothing.

Chinese is just one part of bitcoin supporters all over the world and though it affected so much on the value of cryotocurrencies right now, i believe it is going to regain back it's value. The asian cryptomarket is very powerful, that's why the chinese ICO Ban affected the whole market and everything dropped. Each time an asian trading site listed a certain coin this coin increased highly. So we hope that the chinese government will overthink their decision. This news has been around for six months. But I want to note an interesting fact. The same news was repeated a few weeks ago. This suggests that you should not believe everything that the media write. The market and news are cyclical.

Nobody knows what will happen to the bitcoins in 5 or 10 years maybe it will not be at all.

I view this as bad for crypto but good for clueless investors.  Its bad for crypto because it will decrease the influx of money coming into the crypto market which will slow down the increase in price rises.  It's good for clueless investors because now they wont be getting scammed by sham ICO's that try to prey on the uneducated by luring them with catchphrases like block chain and disruptive technology.

ICOs of late have actually become a way for people who are looking to make quick money to scam others out of their hard earned money so I can understand why china has taken such an action to protect its citizens.

Though it is a bad news that the valuation has deflated to a very serious value but rather I would like to take it as good news because the legalisation of bitcoin and other crypto currencies has been started. Since September 4 last year, ico has been banned in China, but there are still many projects with Chinese parties, and ico activities are still being held.

they would not ban it forever. I believe china is afraid that many of their money coming out from their country. I believe china is still trying to manipulate and control the economy. That was on the time, but now the trends of each government tend to accept bitcoin and crypto moreover on last G-20 convention had been stated that crypto is not a threat for their economic.

This is not for the first time happen, i think that such news have already affected the market but after that the price recover too much. This is old news, and I think it is the right decision of the Chinese government. There is a lot of risk in ICO companies. The government immediately protected itself from the possibility of losing money. I am also sure that China, as a Republic with a Communist system, does not give the right to many who want to become richer than others. Communism is equality. Common sense, it is bad.  Did you think that it was good when you get some investor using ICO's then they banned it? Of course it was bad.  It could affect bitcoin too much and that's why the price was still going down.  This forum or other sites was work because of the ICO's and the China was the one who are the one who create much ICO's and now the forum getting work slowly and people get tired from this and invest to another investment.

That's not a good news for the crypto world considering that a good number of investors are Chinese. News like this will always affect the price of Bitcoin and in turn the alts, but eventually, we will bounce back. Its only a ban, it can be lifted anytime.

China is a big part of pie in the market. Do not underestimate it. But I think this won't have bad influence on the crypto.

Indeed the Chinese government bans the ICO but I see many Chinese people who do not comply with this rule.
