Localbitcoins.com (http://Localbitcoins.com)

Bitcoin ATMs located around the country at your local hipster shop. https://coinatmradar.com/country/226/bitcoin-atm-united-states/ (https://coinatmradar.com/country/226/bitcoin-atm-united-states/)

You can buy physical bitcoins via eBay, but the prices are straight robbery by the seller. Only a sucker would pay those prices.

On the online exchange front check out Circle used to but in researching the response to your post I learned that Circle has gotten out of the Bitcoin business to focus on fiat based peer to peer online payments.

Sorry, should have said...looking for online methods like exchanges. Localbitcoins I will check out but I believe you are buying from others and have to trust them? Do they offer an escrow service? (I will also research).

I found Cex.io takes USD for BTC too...higher than Coinbase.

You could always suggest escrow, there's plenty of people offering such services here (not me) and it's possible that local BTC sellers also have a presence on this forum.

Be careful. If I find other exchanges I'll let you know.

Hey I would suggest you an alternative, local Bitcoin, exchanges can't always be trusted, why don't you check out the currency section of this forum, buy and sell. People who have a huge reputation you should deal with them and buy it from them, what's the benefit you can be assured you will be paid, but for that make sure whom ever you choose is running this kind of service and has done deals lately. You should start searching if you are planning to buy, prices have fallen. I would recommend only this forum trusted buyer and sellers, then upto you.

Also, found Kraken.

Localbitcoin prices are a joke. Only for fools or those looking to hide.

Plenty of others. If you live in the US, Gemini is a great alternative to GDAX.

Damn good timing to buy now on the dip. The markets panic as usual and we have a opportunity to buy cheaper coins. I buy directly from people I have met at local Bitcoin meetups. You pay a lot less fees and you do not have to trust third parties with your private keys. If these exchanges gets hacked, your coins are lost.

If you have no other option, use these online exchanges, but transfer the coins to your own wallet as soon as it was received.
