Title: what will stop the rise ?
Post by: 600watt on May 24, 2013, 02:00:01 PM
whatever went on the last 3 years concerning bitcoin...  thousands of people getting to hear about it, learning about it, getting involved, demand rises and so does the price. except for the guys who bought on those 18 days when the price of bitcoin was higher than today (thx vladimir), everyone bought lower than the current price.

whatever made it happen the last three years will just continue. gox didnīt stop it, DHS didnīt stop it, BFL didnīt stop it. nothing will stop it. there is only one direction: UP.

ladies and gentleman: kiss the pessimists goodbye. put your space ship gear on. get oxygen supply ready.

I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASO_zypdnsQ) instructional video about how we should behave now.

Attending Bitcoin 2013 conference was an eye opener.

For me it really gave me a chance to get a in person analysis of the general world's sentiment of Bitcoin.

One word: BULLISH

Get your coins while you can below the all time high because we aren't going to stay under it for a year.

CHOO CHOO MUTHA...you know the rest.  :D

Government ban might do it. Or some alternative with some very great benefits over BTC (none of the current altcoins which offer only minor, if any, improvements IMO).

Otherwise, I agree there is little that seems to be able to stop the train.

But I've been bullish for a while  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=188829.msg2182824#msg2182824)already. :P

I was more referring to the long term, I don't know yet if we can rule out a bear market. If we do get one, I'd see it as an opportunity, and I'd trade that to accumulate more. Just recognized that some of the things I was caught up with (Cripple, Blightcoin and other scamcoins, blocksize issues) really are nothing but distractions at the current stage.

Thing is, I've been ignoring the news during the entire parabolic rise to trade the crash, so I'm only now kind of catching up with the state of things, and it appears the network effects in play are strong, so I think my bearish fundamental bias was unfounded. I honestly believed the rise might practically kill Bitcoin. This network effect is evidenced for instance in persuading the Humble Bundle and the EFF who have been reluctant for a long time, thanks to Coinbase who were recently funded $5 million and Bitpay who received $2 million. For all intents and purposes, Bitcoin is already the currency of the internet.

So, now, I'm kind of back to where I was when the price was at $13, mentally, and willing to be more of an investor again if the technicals align. I believe that Bitcoin has a good chance of seeing 4 digits within the next couple years. Hell, make it gold oz. parity.
