When you get involved with an ICO, you want
- to get a status of the important investor, or
- to get discount from the project, or
- to try out your luck? :)

Mostly ICO for me is, buy cheap and sell when listed.
Few ICOs are to hold as they can provide better returns on the share.

We looked heavily into the funding approach for our new project which is going to be announced in a few weeks however the ICO method does seem to be at present the most heavily influenced way to create the initial economy needed.

I am with bankera, of course! Why ? because after the ico a strong approach is to be expected and I would like to be there.

Is it cheaper this way or not? :) I mean to do the best of the best marketing for ICO might be pretty expensive.
Is ther eis no secret, what kind of project are you going to boost via ICO?

well if you invest on a good ICO earlier you get a big discount on token.
sometimes the token has a high price than the ico price when it enters exchange

-to get quick money but also put myself in high risk of my money.That's my answer.

I think if the ICO project is promising, then to be a part of it as the investor will give me the opportunity to get tokens and gain additional funds in return.
At the same time, a lot of preliminary work should be done about every ICO project before getting involved with it in full.

because some ico projects will return 20x profits when listed, of course, few can achieve this, but ico can give we cheaper coins and hold for a long term

Primarily to get a discount from the project.

Although I always dream of trying out my luck, unfortunately it is something I cannot afford right now. I now only pick coins that are more or less stable and have less risk involved. The coin needs to have a real world use, a real solid team, and good marketing.

I wouldn't know why people why buy an ICO just for the status of an "important investor." Lol. Seems very childish to me.

The second ICO our of Korea is coming soon (BOScoin was the first). DAYLI Financial Group (formerly Yello Finance Group) is preparing to launch a coin called ICON. The site was opened on the 2nd. Of all things, the Korea version of the Whitepaper attracted me the most, and after reading through, I felt the company was well prepared.

ICON is an interconnecting blockchain network. ICON can connect independent blockchains without the use of additional third-party intermediaries. Various blockchains can communicate with each other through the ICON platform. By connecting siloed blockchains, ICON aims to become the largest blockchain in existence.

ICON tokens are named ICX. ICX is used as an intermediary currency when transacting amongst the various blockchain networks. As an inter-chain blockchain, the ICON platform will be able to host other ICOs on the ICON platform.

The ICON ICO will be the largest ICO in Korea. Overall, ICON aims to raise $44M over the span of 2 weeks. The ICO starts on October 20th, 2017 and ends on November 3rd, 2017. ICON will distribute 400,230,000 ICX which can only be exchanged with Ethereum (ETH). 1 ETH has a conversion rate of 2,500 ICX (1 ETH = 2,500 ICX).

For me is to try out your luck because a success ICO means a good money for me and a good investment but do some research first of every ICO because not all ICO's is good! some is scam.

For me, it's: get discount for the project
Usually the ICO period & definitely the Pre-ICO period (if any for a certain project) are ideal to buy tokens for competitive price, that will allow you to make some profit (sometimes great) when the token gets listed after things go well with the project

Most of the bitcointalk users diving into ICO because it maybe long enough to campaign it yet, you get bigger income. And most of the time, when coins is not yet in the exchanges it's small, but after you see it in exchanges it becomes higher and means, you can have higher income.

This is just the common thing why investors do dive on ICO project. Get some discounts and when listed and the price is above on the amount that they bought then easily sell out as long as it being listed on exchange already to secure profits.This thing do normally happen and this way investors do gain profits.

Therefore we need to be vigilant in investing in ICO, preferably if we want to invest we must be more careful and check it again, whether it is good or not, because with us make sure and see the profile of the team to prove it. it really ensures that the project is good.

I think in doing an Investment in ICO. we have to do a lot of research and consider some factors. if the goal of investing in ICO is of course to make a profit.

To try my luck or to invest in something I believe in. There are many potentially world-changing projects out there. At least, I hope they are  :)

Bitcoin is tumbling and I recently invested in BMC ICO to hedge my Bitcoins because they have a floor of 80cents and the ICO price was 1USD.

Would you consider being Bounty as making profit via ICO?

Personally, I want to support the project, I do it with all means available. After all, why not help a good project, right?

Firstly, everybody wants to gain money.
After this I choose supporting of interesting project which I believe in.
And of course it will be very nice to get discount while crowdsale :)

I look for new good products with a good team. Definetely by participating in ICO, you have chance of getting the coins at discount!

A.  If it's a highly popular ICO, you might miss out if they don't offer a whitelist....  therefore better to get in early if it's a highly promising prospect.
B.  You normally receive bonuses for early adoption.

Why dive in to ico ?
Because i threat ICO like i invest in to start up, when i see there is a good project i will definately invest on it. And because if we want to invest on normal start up we need to have much money. But there are several people dive in to ico just to make a fast profit..it is not good in my opinion, because if you do that you act like a gambler..total gambler. Not act like investor not even speculator.

I will see the project first if I am interested then I will join, of course with ico that I understand.
in the presence of ico is clear to seek profit and mutual benefit.

Personally, I just want to support a good team with a good project, and besides, if I was wrong I still can earn)

my opinion ops, Better to stay away and don't dive in if you don't know the ICO of a company. But I you does better to check the developer and the team before investing in it. In my perspective it is a good way to start investing in different ICO as it will make you a lot of profit in long term or short term investment but make it a mark that Risk is a part of investing it will make you a lot of profit or lose. I watch many ico. and buy nothing. only when it is at the exchange I then buy from the bounty hunters.
everything else is now much too risky . buy bounty token at hitbtc and etherdelta. this works perfectly

I like all 3 but for me it's more about the "early adopter" mentality that I missed and wished I had with BTC. I buy tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of ICO or pre-ICO coins that I like because I like to take chances and follow a coin growing up. It's the possibility that's always very enticing for me.

Too many ICOs, everyone is looking for big profits by joining and investing there.
but ICO is currently at risk, there are some things to consider before investing among others:

1. Team
2. Whitepaper
3. Coin supply
4. Roadmap
5. use case

I am a mixture of those. I am trying my luck to get a status of an important investor and to get a discount or an extra income from the project. I also wanted to explore more of the cryptoworld. There is a great opportunity waiting.

I generally want to be investor of their ideas. It is also definitely trying hard for profit so trying my chance. I really love how ICOs help common people to easily invest. These are general reasons I dive into ICOs.

well. For me, It's kind of gambling. There good opportunity to get good profit though! It's better for them to visit the site and read the about their project. Anyway, must be read out the white paper first to last. There some ICO so much hopeful, other ICOs are garbage!

They are great ways to get money if you can find the right ico to invest in. Because there are lots of scams lately. If you find a good one it is a very fast way of making money.

Hello, I joined an ICO is to try my luck and take discounts and bonuses.
Because the bonus in an ICO is very much around 30-50% and I am interested to participate in it.

the first and second points. if u want to be an early investor you have to invest in icos. At most icos (excerpt scams) the (pre-) ico price is the lowest so you can expect a possible profit when ico hits exchanges. but not every time.

I have never seen any project on here that I would dive into. I have seen many that were worth Investments but as far as pouring everything that you have heart soul into a project I have never seen one on here that deserves that. So if you're looking for something good dive into Rhapsody to look at the stock market where there's a little bit more stability.

As I'm looking to ICO - it is not so good now for short investment. Usually price going down.
But for long and big investment it still nice!!!

There are some much different advices and opinions. For me the main reason invest in ICO, to support a good project, that could be useful for me and also to become more richer. Make the money!

I think that usually people dive into ICOs because of " try out your luck" as you wrote. Everything is about the money so if you don't know something let's thik about it. People invest in ICO becase new coins are always much cheaper than already well working coins(projects). So if an investor find an promising one then invest with many benefits and in addition has opportunity to earn much money on coins.

ico's now are the trend in the  Alternate cryptocurrencies world it is highly beneficial of course depending the ico you had participated in a dude became millionaire by sych diving as describe it ride the wave and you wont regret.

to invest my money into ICO project. but i don't have target to get status as important investors. then after the project is successful i get many profit it's about luck because not all of ico project will successful.
