Title: Where to buy altcoins not available on Bittrex?
Post by: viking02 on September 06, 2017, 06:50:59 AM
I use shapeshift to get altcoins and thus convert btc to certain altcoins.  Of course the fees are very high on shapeshift.  So people say use an exchange.  However i noticed many coins are not available on bittrex.  For example, mobilego is not shown there.

So how would someone buy altcoins like mobilego if its not in bittrex?

The other thing is how would you even trade mobilego if its not in bittrex?

If you go to their site, do they list their exchanges they ARE listed on? Maybe in their ANN thread?

You could also check coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/mobilego/#charts). Looks like (under the markets tab) that it's traded on a lot of exchanges, albeit some I haven't heard of, possibly because of my ignorance. In the future try to start with the dev's website and get info from them before starting a thread, you'll get answers faster.

I can suggest you to use Liqui or EtherDelta.
These are both great exchanges, I never had problems. And they have fast websites.

I wanted to trade IOTA and registered on bitfinex for that. I guess this exchanger is big, trusted and containing coins which are not listed or bittrex. As for mobilego, I can see it on many markets but I guess Liqui is the most trusted one among them. I think you should go there, for it's too risky to use unknown exchangers. Even famous one have some hacks and robbery from time to time. If you feel that this coin is great as a long-term investment, you should install the wallet and keep the coins on your computer.

etherdelta is a horrible exchange to use, it is lagging a lot, you need to have ethereum in your account, it takes some time to refresh the orders. :( i would use it if there would be no other exchange to sell a particular coin

a very good source to find out exchanges that have an altcoin listed is https://coinmarketcap.com there is a search function there which you can use to find the altcoin that you want and from their page click on the "Markets" tab and see all the exchanges that you can use.

i suggest using: c-cex, cryptopia, Novaexchange if you are looking for alternatives.

also you can always check out the altcoin's announcement topic. they always list where you can trade their coins.

That website is pretty nice.
I usually look around Bitcointalk to see if there's anyone selling their coins over the counter.

For MGO, you can trade it here . https://coinmarketcap.com/assets/mobilego/#markets

I use Cryptopia for the coins that Bittrex does not have. They usually with have the lower volume and not very popular coins. Their site is okay and the performance is acceptable. Their volumes are really low so watch out for that.

+1
Etherdelta is a shit exchange site but it's better than Yobit as the worst and horrible exchange.
