Title: CoinCloud ~ The All in one place for cryptos ~ www.CoinCloud.tk
Post by: blindfaith on May 25, 2013, 01:17:38 AM
Hello again everyone,
My latest little project I've put together is CoinCloud

Visit CoinCloud (http://www.coincloud.tk)

Coin Cloud is my little creation where I can be creative & contribute to the Bitcoin and alt. coin community.
You can find information about some of the different crypto-currencies like their advantages and disadvantages, how to get a wallet and get started collecting them; find out how and where to find coins for free, information on mining and more!

I've only just begun the site as my old similar one was removed by crappy hosting! (don't use weebly for building Bitcoin related sites!)

quicklinks to 'finished' pages:
The Cloud (http://coincloud.webs.com/the-cloud)
(Only Bitcoin is clickable so far but you might discover coin you never knew of! :) )
Bitcoin Cloud (http://coincloud.webs.com/bitcoin)
What is Bitcoin? (http://coincloud.webs.com/what-is-bitcoin)
Free bitcoins (http://coincloud.webs.com/free-bitcoins)
Faucets (http://coincloud.webs.com/btc-faucets)
Chat (http://coincloud.webs.com/btc-chat)

tell me what you think! :)

http://s22.postimg.org/agucrgfa9/cccccccccccccccccc.png

--------------------------------------------------------------

updates:
I've ran out of pages I can make for free, so can't continue to develop my site until I can afford a better hosting package. :( boo! ~ donations welcome! (click) (http://coincloud.webs.com/donate)

Feel free to post below any other alt-coins you'd like to see added to the site!
(ideally with info or links about them & a logo for the 'cloud' :)!

It would be cool if this became a BCT.org community project thing but i'm probably thinking too far ahead of everything lol

Good idea, but... you used a free hosting and a .tk domain :(

We haven't all had such luck with their crypto's tripling in value..
Once I have some spare cash I'll throw it into this project!

Webs seems semi decent for a non-expert coder like myself but who still wants to contribute and .tk's are short and free!
Feel free to donate to speed the process up? :P

Avoid .tk. Seriously, it's going to cause more problems than it's worth, due to the way most hosts view them (they are notorious for phishing and scams). If you want to go with a free short domain do it with .co.cc. It's a little more awkward, but it is well worth it.

When you can, move to a .com. Usually you can register for $1 on sales.

It's a way to send bitcoins from a wallet to another one anonymously https://blockchain.info/en/wallet/send-shared

I suggest you to buy the .net domain with these money (the .com is bought from someone else).

I had to read through your posts a couple times to finally get it. I was like "how did you earn BTC from using the send shared?" You meant that you donated using it, :p.

Yes ;D

Forgot to say in the other post but thanks! That was really nice to do, :).

Now then... I just noticed the title of the thread has changed. Now it says "suspicious link removed" instead of the web address.

Agree'd - .tk's aren't very popular as a lot of people have used them in the past to give a phishing site or something similar a better domain..
- I would grab one cheap but Webs make you buy their paid packages to use your domain :( - found this out with another site I made..

& Ahh, I see - I thought you had somehow profited through it some how :P

& It's strange, only sometimes the link is getting 'auto-d' to suspicious link,
It's only as it's a .tk I believe!

& Considering the poll results I'll remove the members/sign up thing.. was more of a novelty really :P

Hey, it's looking good!

Are you only using webs.com because you don't know how to use html? If not, you can find free hosts that you can host with using any domain you want (this is in relation to webs only allowing you to upgrade through them).

Thank you!  :D

I'm using webs for a few reasons:
- it's quick and easy to edit things with their site builder
- I'm not very clued up on any programming / coding language but know bits and pieces from a few lol
- Weebly which I was using kept taking down any Bitcoin related site I made :(

But yeah, once/if I become more confident using html I would consider moving the site!
I recently bought a paid package from them for another project I'm doing but it means this one is kind of on hold for now but I have faith! :P

Got ya. I'm surprised a host would take down a site just because it's related to crypto currency. Especially when some big name people are even backing it.

A program like Dreamweaver may be a good idea if you are new to the web development side. There are also a lot of free alternatives as well, though I have never used any of them (I mostly just code by hand).

I know! :( just after I had got the site ready and published it etc.! - unregistered my old .tk name (ecoins.tk) then some sneaky bastard company come along and snatch that as it had, had so many views randomly! :@ boo! - but CoinCloud was born out of all this so yey! :)
& yeah, their customer service replies were blunt and unhelpful to say the least..

Also thank you! - I'll look into them! :)

Apologies the site hasn't many pages yet but glad to hear you managed to find a new coin! :D

My aim is to build the all in one go to place for newbies but yeah.. "i'm just a dreeeeaaamer.." -ozzy. :P

Ohhh, are you sure they took down the site because of Bitcoin, or was it because of the .tk? In the beginning I was using .tk's for some sites I wanted to get up and running before taking "live," and out of five hosts I tried all of them deleted the accounts due to the .tk address. This is when I moved to .co.cc for testing addresses and have had no issues since (though .co.cc has some bad press attached as well, but not nearly as negative).

To be honest I'm not 100% but yeah, I never thought they would of for the .tk but you never know!
I'll be moving over to co.cc if I have any more issues before I get .com/.net or whatever!

Wow, when I read through Branzig's comment it seemed more like a spam advertisement, lol. Just the way that it is written.

And if someone designs a new logo, I think clouds in the form of the different coins would be awesome. Like take the logos of the coins and line them up in such a way that they make the outline of the cloud.

I suck with graphics. Like royally. But I don't think there are any issues with repeating the images. I look at it as being like a necklace or something; there are only so many bead colors before you have to repeat. A way to possibly enhance how it looks is to form it like this (assuming there are 5 coins for brevity):

13245312415324

More or less randomize it to a point.
