Fun little thread idea.  With BTC flying to pluto im sure many of have thought back and said "Fuck! I wish I didn't spend BTC on....." because now its worth so much more!

I'll go first. 

Fuck!  I wish I didn't spend BTC on the Gridseed Orb miners!  That cost me 3.5 BTC back in the day!  ROI is out the window.  =(

Around late 2015 I sold my whole holding of 2btc to put towards buying myself a new laptop. 2 years later and that laptop is nearing the end of its life, could've bought myself about 10 much better laptops if I held on to it until now  >:(

Bummer!  This is why I can't bring myself to buy anything with BTC anymore unless I immeidately rebuy.  I'm sure there more funny stories out there!  Anyone else?

Fuck!  I wish I didn't spend BTC on: purchasing a good number on steam games. This was around a year ago, so yea, the price of bitcoin was significantly lower back then. Though I don't completely regret it, since I don't think bitcoin would actually grow if people would only hold it, and not spend it online, which is what it's made for in the first place. It seems like people nowadays only see bitcoin as an investment and not a cash/payment system.  ::)

Oh no!  There is a bright side to all this though.  If we HAD NOT bought these things with BTC, we would have not been helping BTC become more mainstream.  The fact that we all bought goods or services with it helped it become a more accepted currency and bring it to where we are at today.

I know what you feel man. Regrets would really be on the end but still we should moved on because no one did really able to expect on what bitcoin has reached now regarding on its value. Even as of now i did really waste up my bitcoin which i do actively convert it to fiat because of some of my expenses but i do still save some amounts for future purposes.

Exactly, if all bitcoin users have the same mentality of holding bitcoin and do not spend as much as possible, then bitcoin would not experience this much rise in value as we are now. These "mistakes" are part of the growth of bitcoin.

Definitely. So it was only regret on a minimal extent. I regret it more for the fact that I bought some games that I haven't even played right now LOL. And yea, if Steam users didn't actually use the bitcoin payment option since they implemented that option, Steam would have probably the bitcoin payment option already. Well done to me I guess?

I wish I didn't spend BTC on a doubler that a friend recommend to me when I was just starting my bitcoin journey. He referred me and said that he was being paid. And me trusting my friend, invested .5BTC back then when it was around $1000. Initially it was paying and what I do is deposit more but they ran off and scam a lot more investors. If I didn't put that money and just hold on it, I will be getting good profits by now. Well, too bad I have to learn my lesson in a very hard way. We are still friends though, after what happened to me.

I wish I didn't spend 2 BTC on a traffic exchange in the hopes of transferring the money to fiat faster then virwox would of.
Lost 2 BTC because the traffic exchange wouldn't let me cash out LOL...

That would be 8-10 grand today, but this was back when BTC was only 500$, so it wasn't that bad.

Don't regret having spent your BTC, you have helped it reach the price it has now!

I've spent a fair bit. Most of it I don't regret at all, but I did spend my weekly sig earnings on utter shit from Amazon a few times like laptop sleeves that didn't fit. That was a disgusting waste.

If nothing else, all the tat you have lying around with Bitcoin serves as a cautionary reminder not to do it again. On the flip side in the UK there's a chain of second hand stores that pays out in BTC for the rubbish you send them so my old games and phones have now paid for themselves many, many times over.

Lizzi and bestchain. Too of the best gems i ever come across and actually spent BTC on:) They are too good examples of real shit. I did it the same way both time. I was around cryptopia and noticed very high volatility and decided to gamble as i sometimes do. and i got stuck with this too fine examples of shitcoins:)

Keep it alive brothers and sisters...BTC is climbing to new heights again..... So many regrets... :-)

You can use that same understanding to continue to make money at the future. There's hundreds of people out there that had literally thousands of Bitcoins in the beginning and they are gone now. But we've moved forward and continue to make a lot of money in there.
There is no reason that you should stick to just feeling sorry for yourself about that single incident and not move forward and start making money now.

I believe a day will come in the next few years when so many newbies will visit this thread and be like, Wow! Imagine how much this guys have spent on shitty things. Lol.
That is part of being one of the early adopters anyway and mostly by then so many people will even find it hard to smell 0.0000001BTC in their wallet (hopefully that dream comes true ;D )

I think every Bitcoin user has something about Bitcoin that he/she regrets. I really wish I haven't sold my 7 Bitcoins when they were worth about 250$ each. But back then I couldn't know the price will be that high as now and I needed money. Because threre is no use od regret the only thing I could do is to try to earn as much Bitcoin as I can and hope the price will be even higher.

I have long heard the bitcoin 2010 I want to buy but no exchanger here in our country creditcard holders can buy bitcoin anymore. If I had credit card only then I would have bought a bitcoin too much that I hold now because bitcoin's price was no more than 1$ 2010 in today's car with bitcoin's price.

I did this too. I wasn't really introduced to all these scam sites early enough. I learned most of that stuff myself from trial and error.

I put a decent amount of bitcoin into a marketing sham called triple threat marketing. I don't know if anyone else had done this also or not, but I got a few payouts back and decided that it was worth putting some money into. A few weeks later, all the money is gone and the owners of the site deletes the site and creates a new marketing scam.

So far I didn't regret for all what I spend with bitcoin because I'm benefiting to those I bought. It's all for my convenience as well as my family. Maybe because before I spend my bitcoin to anything I make sure that I think it many times if it's really necessary. And until now I still use and enjoy all of those.

Yes, I guess we should look at the bright side now knowing we have at least in a way contributed to the growth of bitcoin. Sometimes, I do wish I could rewind back the hands of time, but we can't and since it ain't possible, then we just move on! But really! F**k when I spend about 3BTC way back then just to buy a pair of sneakers.

I cannot even wear the sneakers anymore and I sure wouldn't give it out. That shit is going to stay in my hand for years cause I will tell my kids the story. ;D I do not regret it anyway.

The problem is that most people are into bitcoin today considering it more of an asset than a payment method for goods.

So many people just want to get rich fast and thought bitcoin is the best way to help themselves out. I sure know a time will come when transactions will become a norm but who knows if the amount you are spending now may be worth a whole lot in the future. Spend little, save more has been my slogan since 2012.

We'll do regret spending our bitcoin unwisely but we go get to learn that it's better to hold it than to spend it. I've also regret my decision when I saw the prices going down I immediately cash in my coins only to find out it will peak and reach a new all time high. Quite sad but I'll credit it to experience and move on. This is a great thread though for it might teach some valuable knowledge and avoid the mistakes we have made.

As much as the people spend bitcoins at shops,institutions,exchanges,games stores and trade in markets, the more it gets valued.
So far i never had feeling of displeasure while spending bitcoins. As a physical commodity, bitcoins do not have importance rather than the centralized currency.
The reason why bitcoin has value, is that traders accept it as an asset. Therefore,if you wish the bitcoin to remain alive, you must not express regret.

I wish i didn't spend my btc earnings early last year on things i didn't need like eating out in fancy restaurants and buying unnecessary items. I didn't of btc as an investment then and i easily could have an additional 2-3 full bitcoins now

You dnt have to feel bad because i buyed assets from the bitcoin income, after all this is why we all do this, it's not just a romantic perspective of life, we all want money to buy thing, to become more and more indedenpend. I have a long list on wich i have spent my btc incomes and i don't regret because at that moment it was the best decision.

I regret going on a vacation in 2016, all the payments where made in btc, from flight bookings to accommodation, it was worth it although I spend so much bitcoin. During that period it wasnt even worth $1000. If I would have been patient, I would have been having more money since bitcoin is even worth more.

That's what happens when you don't trust and don't keep patience in the reality. Since I started I have always been know to bitcoin being expensive grower in the market and the market cap will always grow more like this now and forever. I will always withdraw money if I want to but I won't go for emotional selling of the bitcoins in first place. Anyway you can always grab this chance the only thing is you will have to buy the bitcoin at very high rates now and then your ROI will come at very expensive prices. This will keep happening always no matter what. Bitcoin still not reached Pluto though, when it will be there then you can expect to have 10K USD per btc.  :D

It is totally the game of nerves who controlled it in time of panic is in good profiting state now and those who did panic selling at that point they are regretting why they did that, and many of people are asking hen will next dump occur so that they can buy again but the good time has gone now and the moment panic sellers sold bitcoin was 3000USD and now it is 5000USD one can think about their regret level.

It's reasonable for most people to become skeptical of it and sell. In the beginning of this year BTC was around $800 and I remember when people were freaking out about a bear run when it was 1k. Makes you wonder where the ceiling is and the possibilities of this in the future. Maybe 10k BTC will be something we may regret to sell as well - maybe not.
