Title: Hold, Hold, and Hold?
Post by: silenthawk on September 08, 2017, 04:35:07 AM
I bought ETC, GNT, SC, DGB two months ago and since then i haven't done anything else, ignoring market fluctuations, and you? What currency are you keeping?

Why make a post for that ? You have bought some coins and holding it. Okay thats good but making a post for that is similar to spamming the board. I get the point that you want to start a discussion but there are already similar threads where we can present our discussion related to which coins we are holding.
P.S: your selection of coins is not so good either. Apart from DGB i dont think other coins will make you any worthy profit.

What currency are you keeping?
DUH! only bitcoin...

I bought ETC, GNT, SC, DGB two months ago and since then i haven't done anything else, ignoring market fluctuations, and you?
market fluctuations are the only reason i am in altcoins! i make more bitcoin from these fluctuations, otherwise there is no point in even thinking about 90% of the altcoins specially the big ones like ether.
you can always make more money by trading coins as in buy in the dip and sell after rising. not by buying and holding them to wish the price goes up some day and give you profit.

One thing I have observed in this space is that long term invest tend to make more money in this space, because there will also be time like this in the life of any market, it is a buyers market for now.

I'm not sure now about digibyte. I bought a couple of dgbs when the price was at .0001 sat and ever since then it went spiraling downwards. I still keep it though but in hopes that something good may come out if it in the future.

It is always better to hold strong coins. Time doesn't really matter. You just need to get used and know when its updates are coming or speculations. So it will always be profitable.

How its possible!! Same here man.I also did like you.I sold my Monaco coin only $1 and after selling them in the 8th days the price of monaco reached $20!! I was shocked. I sold 200 Monaco at a cheap rate.but now i am not selling any single coin.I  need to hold them minimum 3 month after the end of ICO.

Yes, hold.

I trade only in percentages of one coin to another, never sell it off. Also I don't hold any non-minable, premined shitcoin.

It's a common mater to dump all tokens or coins when they distribute it.when they distribute it the bounty hunters are sold that at cheap rate and it's going really low price but if you want to get a good profit from there you need to patience for some time like 3-4 months. I think MCO is a big example when it distributed its price only 2 or 3 dollars but after some days its like 25 dollars it's a big amount for us.

It is not suitable to talk about the prices and your investment here, I think this post will be moved to Speculation (Altcoins) section, BTW, it is not wise to hold every coin, just hold some coins that you think it is promising.

Holding time and time again is proving to be the best method unless off coarse you bought a super bad coin that is just on a random pump then you may want to sell. Holding good coins is always the best option.

I'm long term holding xrp, ltc, etc, ark, stratis and posw

Yeah and that's a sure thing. There are coins that are only good for short term holding and some are for long term.
If you'll not determine which is which you'll end up losing profit so better be wise.

Holding alts is a very very risky business. I've seen loads pump up and then dump and die.

By all means buy alts for short term profit, but make sure you take those profits, don't be too greedy thinking the price will continue to go up, chances are it will fall back and never recover.

I agree with the previous post, I've been in crypto since 2013 and I started off with just bitcoin and then I decided to diversify into altcoins, Worldcoin, Quarkcoin, etc. My portfolio got decimated pretty quickly. If you're holding an alt, make sure its a strong project and has active developers.

if you take a good look at some coins ,you should hold it for long term.in this situation ,belief is more important than profits.on other hand,if you want short term investment, just buy low and sell high.

Simple trading strategy above is true buth holding is a total different type of investment... You keep some coins you trust with rising in some specific timing (for example I keep some strat and waves hoping they'll shine some time) but I trade with btc, eth, ltc, dash all the time because of volatility and their always high prices :)

there are certainly some worthy altcoins for as long-term investments like ETH, WAVES, ZEN, CLAMS and others, perhaps holding back for the next few years will certainly benefit greatly.

My favorite long term bag is waves for sure. Its one of my best and biggest positions right now. I am not going to sell my bag before mid 2018, beause theyre going to announce some nice stuff in the next time.  And I hold some waves assets, theyre going to grow up with waves. Favorite asset: Incent
Another long term bag is ARDOR. Theyre launching with the ardr snapshot and I think we will see some nice gains with that.

yes really once hold your coins until next year I'm sure the coins will rise in price. if you sell now your coin it's a very bad plan because all the coins are coming down and trying to climb rise back.

I am holding bitcoin and litecoin. Bitcoin will always increase the price and litecoin has the potential to become the world currency since it is faster than bitcoin and it can control the big number of people using litecoin without any problem. Bitcoin can not maintain a big number of people but it is the original cryptocurrency and therefore, it will soon become the digital gold

That is right. I bought XVG, BAT, XMR, and Waves. And as of this posting, they are all going down. Bitcoin itself is also going down. I am now losing a few hundred dollars. The more reason therefore that I will hold as tight as possible because I am already losing. I thought the green marks after the news about china were going to continue. I was wrong apparently.

I kept eth,etc and litecoin and I purposely invest them for long term investment, for other alt coin I don't really dare to used it as long term investment, because once it's drop it will be really difficult to see it rise again, and I admit the profit is quite good but still more risky than invest in bitcoin

The only coin that I would outright and always keep with no looking back is Bitcoin itself. Even Litecoin has shown that it cannot be trusted. We do hold some currencies waiting for a price move, but those are coins that we have put no investment into rather than a few hours mining or something like that. I have rarely seen a coin that we would trust holding and going to bed with

Nice look on how many of them grow. I'm holding DGB, TIME, SC, ETH and BCC. I'm not doing anything as of now and I'm just watching the market and hoping that there will be a good blast for these coins. I do not track many of the coins that you say. But DGB and ETC are two coins that I currently hold and wait for the price. ETC, I am not sure because I am also a headache because of it, but with DGB perhaps you should rest assured because I was earning a lot of profit from this coin.
