People are getting interested with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general. We are here for different reasons and purposes but more than anything else, I would say that we should be more focused on the technology that has created these possibilities and the positive benefits it can do for people all over the world and the many possible applications that can be built on top of the blockchain which can even be helping people who are  less fortunate.

I'm sharing  this because I have to admit that  greed nearly killed my interest with the blockchain. I some Bitcoin back in the days, and it was hard to overcome but I still loved the technology. I tried my best to forget but sometimes the memories just keep on coming back. But I am back for good and this time not just for the money but because I believe that blockchain is one of the biggest inventions to come a long since the invention of the internet and I should be a part of it.

Money shouldn't be the sole motivator why we are here in cryptocurrency. Go ahead learn more, understand, take a big interest, tell people how great it is even if they think your crazy because they don't understand it. Help people make good decisions so they can also avoid being  scammed, promote the projects you think are great and beneficial and  be happy to be a part of it.

Don't just think about the money, otherwise things might not end well the way you want it to be. Great things can happen because we are part in creating possibilities, helping people and just being a part of a great community.

well you can't deny the profitability of  bitcoin and you can not exactly call it greed when someone invest in them and wants the money.
for most people it starts like that and then they become more familiar with bitcoin and start liking it also when they see the benefits of using bitcoin. but that never is everyone. there will always be people who don't care about anything in the world apart from that piece of paper we call cash ;)

You are 100% correct my friend, your interest in Bitcoin should not just be to earn more wealth and money. The bigger picture is the benefits this technology bring to many people. When I started with Bitcoin, I thought micro payments will go mainstream and people will be able to earn small amounts of bitcoin for micro tasks.

It turns out that it would have been possible, if other roleplayers did not spoil the party < Bitcoin XT / Spammers / BCash / greedy miners & 3rd party wallet providers > So we might have to wait for the Lightning Network for this to happen.

Greed is the main cause of high fees and this is killing my plans for Bitcoin to change the world.

I couldn't agree more to this post. like here in our forum especially to our local board. There are soooo many non-sense/ un related topic about threads just to gain certain posts for their rank. I leaned BTT because I was really eager to learn how to trade and didn't have any idea that somehow you can make money here. It was just a "plus" or perks because I am learning a lot here. I didn't even know ICO lmfao. And this where I just learned it, I am now learning from it that will give me chance to try with investment. And now, I am enjoying to participate with interesting topics about cryptocurrency.

You are very right mate. It is best we understand how the technology works rather than focusing on how it is going to make us financially free. However, you cannot blame a newbie who comes in first because of the money as that is obviously the most interesting part and the first glaring benefit anyone would easily know first. We cannot take that away! It then depends on each person's interest to want to know more about the block chain technology, that is if they wish cause not everyone is a tech savvy. Moreover, there is a lot to learn and it is good if we can open our brains to them.

Not Just for Money! That's right, I work in bitcoin not just for money but to find capital for business in other fields than in bitcoin, also to make family happy. :D

Well we can't deny that money is the number 1 reason why people are interested with bitcoin but the reason too is to be able to keep up with the emerging technological knowledge about our modern era.

How can you forget about money, sorry but for pleasure is not played, we invest also money, not paper. Yes it all depends on the goals of the person, what he wants to get from this. But understanding the technology of earnings, makes a person even more dependent on this plan. Therefore, I do not agree with you.

As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. We, as early adopters should further spread the word and make crypto currencies be more relevant, not just as a money-making venture, but to find ways on how it can be of help to a bigger population. Just small conversations regarding the benefits of these currencies, even with a small group could go a long way in the future.

Bitcoin is a invention and initiative happened in this generation. There are more reasonable ways in each individual on how they can utilize the use Bitcoins. I agree that technology has erupted so quick that it created a lot of things that we don't even have and though before. People can earn more than ever now just by using the technology and one of it's product is bitcoin. We know that in this world, things are not all about the money that we can earn or spend. There are so much things to be discovered.

Ah this is first post that I didn't feel like was merely created to increase post count and I feel op didn't proof read the post.

We need to remember it always that we are not using bitcoin just for money or to earn a lot of money in the future. We are using bitcoin because we know that we want to participate for this revolution and the evolving process of the world due to the power of the technologies and that is what we need to implement in our mind and not always money.

but op isnt denying the value of bitcoin and how its value has increased exponentially over the years. op is pointing out that its not just an asset of value, it's the start of a technological revolution that could very well lead to the currencies akin to those we might see in a sci fi film. and you can;t really blame those who just treat it as money / value, money does make the world go 'round after all. Personally, i think holding bitcoin is having a stake in the future, even though i believe bitcoin itself might not be the currency we all use in the future. Just by using bitcoin, i can ultimately come to familiarize myself with its basics and inner workings, and ultimately be ahead of the great majority if a cryptocurrency were to be adopted worldwide as the global means of trading value. its also pretty cool if you're a gook like me, so i guess there's that.

in a perfect world that would have been true, people would have been using bitcoin for bitcoin not for more fiat. but we are not living in a perfect world. because of that most people will inevitably be in it only for the money. but that is not such a bad thing if you ask me. it still helps bitcoin move forward, the more popular bitcoin gets the more of a currency bitcoin will become. and slowly as the currency part of bitcoin becomes more bold, those who were in it for bitcoin will start realizing other things. and see the technology behind it too.

Most of us first thought that we're just here to study what bitcoins are and haven't really thought of profiting off of it But you're a hypocrite if you haven't thought of using bitcoin as one of your investment tools due to the profitability it can bring. It's good that you still think of the knowledge that you still can share and gain about the tech, but admit it, money interest will still prevail no matter how hard you try to stray away from it.

Whilst I agree, there are a lot more motivators such as the technology it self, there must be a huge proportion that is simply in it for the money. The goal of investing is to both help but ultimately make profit.
