Ethereum has many practical uses while bitcoin cash is merely famous because of bitcoin. So I will go with eth.

It's possible it's only a month that Bitcoincash launched and they head straight in the number three spot with large volume, my heart goes to ethereum but my feelings, Bitcoincash will eventually take over the number two spot and battle it out with Bitcoin it's good that two pow ios battling than with a coin than a premine coin.

It is possible because it is high priced. But it's also not the duration and the reconstruction of an altcoins, and I think the BCC will not argue Ethreum from the second place. First of all many ethics developments Many investors and uses it. While Bitcoins Cash or BCC is only available for free and Any time it can be sold by its holders. And what happens when a BCC holder sees his pricing for sales so that they can be rented. while new purchases will be forced to become holders due to unexpected collapse. OP, yes we all hope so! I am a Core supporter but I do not mind it replacing Ethereum as the 2nd placer in the market. BCC supporters do not have a choice but to pump it or the miners will take advantage and keep pulling off from mining it to activate the EDA.

I have been expecting the BCH to blow by now but apparently I was wrong once again, like when I thought it was too late to buy BTC back in 2011. Yet, the prices today do not prove anything. although there is no reason for BCH to be destroyed by itself, I think it might just be a hype afterall. This might sound stupid to you but don't forget it's large volume is because it was freely given to anyone holding BTC. Of course people wouldn't want to let go so easily.

yeah you are right bitcoincash stands at the top rank because of the popularity of bitcoin and same like copy paste of bitcoin while ethereum stands alone with own project.

Eth still have a lots of use especially in ICO. It is mostly used for ICO transactions. I haven't made any bcc traansaction yet even from right after the split. Eth is more useful and popular unlike bcc.

Bitcoin Cash market cap is growing very rapidly because a lot of people are investing into it and it may go beyond Ethereum next year to reach #2 spot! 8)

there's no way that BCC can beat ETH as the second largest crypto capitalisation in the market because there is no practical application to the real world like enterprise application, it was high valued because of whale in trading community other than that market adaption was unlikely to happen.

market cap does not really mean anything! it is just a number and it is a terrible way of comparing cryptocurrencies because most of them have unrealistic supply which makes the market cap (supply * price) also unrealistic.
in case of ethereum there are 72 million coins pre mined and in the possession of certain people and if you ask me that makes ETH market cap to a realistic number of $6 billion instead.

I do not think that Bitcoin Cash will go to 2nd position in the market because Ethereum will always be better. Although the value of Ethereum less than bitcoin cash but the enthusiasts of ethereum are more than the bitcoin cash.

Do not compare only market cap. Compare also transaction volume for example and you will find out that bitcoin cash is not being used by anyone. It's price is just artificially pumped.

ETH is an already established coin, and it slowly keeps growing. They do critical implementations time to time, and they are  in the market for more time. BCH grew really fast, because it was divided from BTC, so it had to gain value. But I believe that the people supporting BCH in the beggining where real whales, that didn't let the value of BCH sink, trying to establish it now in the $600 and who knows, next year they would hoop and ass the $1000 barrier.  So for me both are worth looking and studying, and also having some of them in our portfolios.

I have to agree. I do not think Bitcoin Cash has any useful value other than being a pure alt. I cannot say it is better than #4 to #10 on market cap. Other alts had to start from scratch and BCH had a wonderful start. It will probably even be #2 at some point as long as it makes money for miners. But in the very long run, I doubt it can remain there when it is no longer profitable.

It is creating a lot of hype in the market but we don't know what is the value of BCH is going to be. ETH price is increasing Step by Step may be ETH price will not be dumped in the market when compared to BCH because sudden growth is not always good to any type of coin.

Bitcoincash has one very big use - which is the big blocks allow them to absorb a lot of transactions. In May Ethereum got so congested that their wallets got suspended on all the exchanges, it can't scale.

Pure PoS will reduce the ETH price. The price performance of other PoS coins is a good indication.

Bitcoin Cash has the capacity to go up in price more than ethereum because of it coin supplies is equivalent to that of bitcoin core. You should know that bitcoin Cash is supposed to be part of bitcoin and there are parts of it from beginning and because of this it will have advantage over others cryptocurrency.

Honestly i was not expecting bitcoin cash to come this close but it's growing day by day. On the other hand Eth is still too power and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down but it's hard to make long term predictions nowadays. So in a year i wouldn't be surprised to see a swap of seats between these two.

In terms of price, BCH is doing ok, but in terms of utility ETH is great and  BCH is nothing but another shitcoin. i would prefer to own a bunch of ETH for long term and trade BCH for quick profit.

Not fully agree with you  ;D, according to their price bitcoin cash has bigger price than ethereum but not in marketcap. Bitcoincash marketcap and price generated because of fork and no new significant improvement, different with ethereum price and marketcap generated according community growth. As we know many people used ether for their innovative business case.

Because Bitcoin cash is used as a currency, that's its purpose. We already have Bitcoin for that, which is accepted in allot of locations.

Ethereum is not used as a currency in the same way, it powers Tokens trades on its block chain, as more ERC20 and 23 tokens come out, its value will only increase.

Actually i do not share your opinion that Bitcoin cash will overcome Ethereum. I mean it is not impossible, but i think that people support Ethereum more than Bitcoin cash, and there for it will prevail. Yeah, Bitcoin cash is having an edge over eth because of its association with genuine bitcoins. Bitcoin cash has much tendency of beating al altcoins and become the best among them. I have read couple of threads where people are pretty much hopeful of making good capital with bitcoin cash.

How could you call it shitcoin if it's​ cap is in billions dollars, it's an upgraded vesion of bitcoin where some setbacks are upgraded. Compared to original shitcoins that are literally waste with zero satoshi value and been abandoned by their devs. Bitcoin cash can never comes close to the uses of etherium "in terms of applications" but surely it has a potential in this market because of its upgraded version (based on bitcoin core) to be used as an alternative or it may crash eth someday, not just a shit.

I think it is possible so I will agree with you. In my observations, today's value of ETH decreases and for BCH, its value is not that bad for a starting cryptocurrency. BCH was just launched on August and it was competitive to other altcoins. If ETH's value continue to decrease I think BCH can beat ETH as time goes by.

MrCrank, it do not work like that, market price do not determine how currency is going to performance in future. Circulating supply of bitcoin Cash is smaller compared to that of ethereum.   You should understand that coin in circulations contribute to the pricing of the particular coin. Ethereum has a stable price and in future it will definitely going to outperform others coins. Bitcoin Cash on the other hand has fell drastically and ethereum has the opportunity to excel in price than bitcoin Cash if you check the trading volumes across all the exchangers platforms.

For trading, ETH is more profitable for me than BCH. I trust the old altcoin more for my future purpose. Because, ETH has been tested under various price conditions.

Honestly dude BCH does not worth anything and no need to even think about buy level for it. Ethereum is a far better altcoin than bitcoin cash. Even Monero and waves are better than this trash. At first, it really got a lot of attention but with time everyone learnt its potential and put it right back to the place which it deserved. Ethereum has the most potential among altcoins.

Marketcap is the worst comparison for comparing two coins. Just because BCH did a kind of airdrop at price of 0.1 BTC which make it have a decent marketcap doesn't means that it has more potential or is better than Ethereum. Ethereum has been in the market for quite long and has gradually obtained the second position in the market because of its utility factor. BCH is just  a two month old altcoin which is just behvaing as pump and dump coin. They are not at all comparable. ETH is way better than BCH.

I know it's a kind of old post, but I don't agree and wouldn't even if it was the day you posted this or any other date.

Bitcoin cash has chance only to go down. It's marketcap is totally overinflated. Overinflation happened because it was possible to buy it as futures in July even before it existed. In it was that futures market that totally overhyped and pumped up the coin and on 1 August as the coin started to exist it's price was way higher than the actual money that was invested in the coin. And that gave it 3rd marketcap right from the day one. Then many people tought it must be some serious coin if it debuted with that high marketcap, so it must go even higher in the future and they pumped the hell out of it.

And that's it. Overhyped and overpumped coin with absolutely no use or value. And it's also very risky to hold. It's hashrate is even way more centralized than that of bitcoin. Over 90% of Bitcoin cash mined is transfered to just two different addresses. So they could even make a 51% attack if they wanted.

Comparing this to a platform that many projects find useful is just nonsense.

The cost of mining the Bitcoin Cash is about 30% of mining Bitcoin. So the price of Bitcoin Cash will drop again.

i would also like to prefer Etherium. To me i think that Etherium has a good future, because we can examine that most of the ICO are giving preference to Etherium and that is the reason that Etherium has good potential to increase its price, therefore we can say that Etherium has more bright future as compare to any other altcoin or even Bitcoin cash.

Bitcoin cash is complete forked coin and that will worth nothing after a lot of people will dump their free bitcoin cash to buy the bitcoin and wait another forked of bitcoin in oct - november, Bitcoin gold will take the bitcoin cash's place.

both are actually not doing well in the market lately, they are currently low and as to when it will rise is one uncertainty. however, between the two, i would prefer eth since eth has been around for quite a while and it has been improving. as to bitcoin cash, though it somehow gained a reputation due to its increased value, i don't see much improvement. although, the possibility that bitcoincash will overcome eth is still around but it will definitely take a while.

In my opinion, it still depends those miners want to keep mine that cheap coin or not, if this is a potential altcoin, I do not think they will ignore the chance mining this coin with low difficult. If I remember correctly Bitcoin cash was the number three coin at some point and now ripple is ahead of it, I will not be surprised if at the end of the year bitcoin cash dropped and was no longer in the top 10, no one is using that coin and the miners are manipulating it and mining a lot of blocks very fast and  selling those useless coins for profit and I do not think this can keep up for much longer.

any altcoins that was created by a "pump-and-dump" mindset developer has no any chance for a longer life span. It has been proven for so many years that any coin without any real world application or not backed by any enterprise or business alliance, that coin will soon fade away. JP Morgan aren't against Bitcoin. They like anything that makes profit. Their CEO just manipulated the market by saying it's fraud and later JP Morgan bought huge amount of some Swedish BTC fund for cheap.

But it's true they're part of Ethereum Enterprise Alliance. And they also have agreement to build their private sidechain on ethereum.

From where I am seeing JP Morgan rather Jamie's remark about bitcoin, he is definitely not praising it. His statement was actually a disturbance to the new investors but didn't really afraid them because now millions are trusting bitcoin.
By the way, this story has become an ancient one now. BTC has already beaten him up. No one can destroy bitcoin and there are ways to do business without playing cheap tricks.

I dont think bitcoin cash (or gold or platin :) will become big. Its ethereum all the way for me

For me, I'll choose bitcoin as a cryptocurrency not cash because in our country, bitcoin need to be converted through fiat currency before we can able to use it or spend for our necessary needs and wants.Etherium is my no.2 because it is being use most in the ICO project so I can say etherium is second of bitcoin.

Ethereu, according to BCH in a different classification . Lanes is different . ETH from the smartcontract is much better .

i think no, bitcoin cash has nothing to do with etherium. and as you see wo dont heard any news about bitcoincash also there were rumors that bitcoincash will crash and bitcoin gold /bitcoin2x will replace it after the fork has been established. yet i can say that etherrium  would compete to bitcoin in terms of value and usage and maybe someday it will surpass bitcoins legacy.

The winner we all know is bitcoin because if we look at current prices of these three coins, we can easily pick up the most expensive and profitable coin. One thing that I would like to mention is that by taking a name similar to bitcoin, no coin can become as popular and profitable as bitcoin is. It is really shameful or bitcoin and its follower to compare such a mighty coin with the newborn baby coins.

Bitcoin Cash is for the moment stronger than Ethereum. In the beginning and middle of this month, BTC will be stronger. ETH will surely fall more as Bitcoin will increase in value. This is what i think, but i may be wrong.

We can say that bitcoin is a big winner to this coin wars, because he had the upper hand and got the most bigger price than it's predecessor but I think the other coins are not the same they had a wider Explanation why they are not base on the price and the Market cap alone but the volume should be consider, we can see that bitcoin cash volume is much greater now than Ethereum but I don't think we had seen all of it and let's just say that we need a further study and time to confirm who's 2nd to bitcoin's lead because these two are a promising competitor to bitcoin.

I think Ethereum deserves the spot in this match, but as you can see. More ICOs are using ETH as a platform to scam people, that is why it loses popularity among investors. It is a very sad happenings.

As you can see now, you were in a bit in error anyway, but etherum is still developing at an incredible rate and maybe someday this big pump will happen.

I will always think that the ethereum will get at a certain moment and a good leap of value which will only affect positively on investors investing in it.

to stay on topic in the speculation board and as a trader i have to say both of them have the potential of being equally viable investments for short term to make a lot of profit.  because both of them are centralized altcoins with rich people behind them who will pump and then dump these coins to make lots of money in the process every now and them.

this process can benefit us as well, but only if we know how it works and have a good sense of timing.

Bitcoin cash is just scam. Creators of bitcoin just split it all of the time so they can make more money. Ethereum is good but it is over valued. Buy something that is so cheap and new that now one is never hear about it. Then you can make money.

I do not think it will be such a thing. Ethereum is waiting for the right time to go to the moon. Bitcoincash will be forgotten after a while

I do not need to make comparisons between them, which are obvious in any way, I think etherum is more precious in every way.

For me If I choose this two coin i will choose ethereum because I see the potentila of ethereum to increase more the price. Even the price of bitcoincash is more high than ethereum I think ethereum is good. Increase slowly but surely.

Bitcoin Cash is pumping hard once more but I do not think it will catch up with Eth which has not made any positive changes other than a decrease in market cap

Ethereum is backed by professional developers unlike bitcoincash that is backed by holders that received it from airdrop so bcc has no value to me. I really did not have interest when bcc came out and I'm surprised that it still exists but let's see  what happens next year.

The Bitcoin Cash market cap is still low. It conforms more to the Nakamoto white paper.

The Bitcoin Cash is also backed by good developers. It is also used by many people.

I also believe that bitcoin cash cant replace ethereum as the second coin in cryptocurrency.
Unless the miners who helps bitcoin cash will continue their support until the BCC surpass ETH.
