Title: Ban fudders?
Post by: Bonanzacoin on September 08, 2017, 12:54:43 PM
I think there has to be something done vs people that simply post in a thread: this is a scam, this is a shitcoin etc. Without any backup or explonation. People who do this know the sensitive impact of news in crypto, so its obvious thats why they do this for their own reasons. I think there should be something done about this on here. Its sickening and i personally have no tolerance for this kind of people. They are rotten imo.

that is why we can see a lot of people getting negative trust,
but banned them ?
it will not solve the problem because they can do it again and again.
banned their IP ?
they can use VPN to join this comunity again.so what should we do ?
that is why this forum has a DT member so they can help us the citizen fighting against that kind of human being.

but most of new altcoins are scam,so it's not really that bad in my opinion because if newbies look at them,
they will reconsider everything and raise their curiousity about that project which mean they will do some research before entering that zone.

This forum has taught us that if you want to enforce certain rules yourself (because mods aren't going to do it in this case), that you have to open self moderated threads. It won't prevent idiotic people from posting in your thread, but at least you can delete their garbage yourself. I think it would be a great option for the new forum (if it ever ends up launching) that thread creators will be able to ban misbehaving people from posting in their self moderated threads. If the overall moderation isn't doing anything, then at least give the user more power - that's something I see as a very important step forward.

That's why this forum has "ignore" button on below of each member on here. Just ignore those people who you think are fudders and move on. Don't waste your time by read their post.

You are absolutely right this is why we do have ignore button if you dont really like to read up some fuds regarding on a coin.At first i do really get irritated when someone fuds regarding on a certain coin without any proofs yes it does really affect somehow but for those people who are knowledgeable then for sure will neglect such thing because they do know whats the truth.

I agree with you to an extent, but I personally wouldn't go as far as banning the user. Maybe something smaller like mute the user for 24hrs, then longer duration of penalty if he/she ever did the same offense.

I usually don't like calling out a website/person without an explanation or sources as well. But sometimes some websites and or ICOs just has too many red flags, being so obvious that it's a scam that I wouldn't need to give any explanation why. But yea, having an explanation why is still always better especially so the less-informed can know why.

I personally actually support this. As long as factual proof or personal doubts are explained. The same goes for shilling a coin btw. But i think fudding intentionally does more damage.

It's very annoying to read FUD, fake news and clickbait thread tittles. But do these fudders really deserves to be banned? I think it's too strict penalty. People have freedom of speech and they are using it. But if they are spreading false information, I think they only should get negative trust rating from DT members.

I see your point OP, but this forum doesn't do a lot of censorship, and that's good.
Also, I don't think the crypto markets react to any sort of FUD on this forum in
particular.  If it was one of the big agencies, then I could see it, but people here
talking about China and all that stuff, I don't think that moves the market.  Much.

Honestly I'm glad bitcointalk doesn't ban those sorts of people.  You just have to
keep a critical eye as to what is said.

Freedom of speech disagrees with your proposal.
