Title: Best exchanges to use to get maximum exposure to different altcoins?
Post by: margana on September 08, 2017, 01:34:05 PM
I'm not having great experience with exchanges.  I have been using kraken in the past but their site has become slow and unreliable, it doesn't have that many altcoins available, they frequently get overloaded and disable vital features.  All in all I'm very displeased

Ideally I want to have a company rather than individual account.

Some exchanges like bitfinex look nice but they have ridiculously long waiting periods and absurd documentary requirements.  Some of them are just unreasonable busy work bullshit to produce (for a small single owner company) and others are things I'm not even sure I can get.

What are the best most hassle free exchanges with good support?

I guess I need one that does fiat and another one that does just crypto to crypto wouldn't hurt.

I'm sure this has been covered before, but then again the landscape is constantly changing and previously trusted names like kraken seem to be far less relaible than they used (website errors, disabled features during peak times, etc.).

I'm looking for a couple reasonable easy to deal with exchanges to interact with that will give me exposure to the lion's share of what's out there.

What can you recommend?

Thanks.

The are some best exchange sites such as the bittrex and liqui, as far as i know the kraken is the canadian exchange site and you can try to seach the more exchange site through the coinmarketcap site and that gives you an answer about that.

Do you have any particular ones you like best?

bittrex is fine

Having trouble with that one too... Typed in one digit wrong in the phone for verification and now the phone number is locked to the wrong one and no way to change it.  Can't get any support in the last 48 hours.

I hope they will help you as soon as they can, but it is your mistake, don't blame them..next time don't rush when writing numbers...allways check.

I use Bittrex now for 90% of what I do.

About 10% between Coinbase/GDAX, Poloniex, Kraken, Cryptopia, and Binance

I absolutely blame them, that's an idiotic design, why lock in the number before it's confirmed on a new totally unconfirmed account?  That doesn't make any sense.  Of course once the phone number has been confirmed once, then you need to provide a code to change it.

E-mail is also locked in and cannot be changed rather than the standard common sense design of sending a confirmation to the old email to change it to the new email and/or a 2FA...

Etherdelta have many tokens market in it and it's decentralized but only ETH smart contract token, you own the privatekey of their given address so you have full control over it and can withdraw at anytime as you need.
but this exchange probably will not meet your requirement about good support. but worth a try.
For other altcoins, best so far is bittrex, poloniex have now drowned with many problems so better to stay away.

Dump the old one and create a new account.  Problem solved (easily).

...and do be careful this time. ;)

Don't really need the support for anything besides getting verified or if their site is crashing and burning.  Decentralized sounds awesome, are there others?  But what about this huge thread going on saying that EtherDelta has been hacked?  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2160432.0

Poloniex experienced problems first hand, waiting for support to fix/complete verification for more than two weeks.

That's what I was thinking but first wanted to change my email to one I don't care about so I can actually use my real email to make the account that's going to work but can't do that either...  >:(

You cannot  get  100% perfection for all the  exchange, but  I use Etherdelta and  it  cool for  me with lots of  the  Altcoin, just  ensure  your  internet  network is  okay and  be careful when your  imputing  your  figures.

Why not try to have accounts in some exchanges? not only one exchange. Registration in any exchange doesn't take you more than one minute. You can't find an exchange which supports all the coins and you need to use some of them.

I know that and I do want to have a couple, I'm asking what are the best 3-4.  And also many don't take "one minute" that's the problem. "Verification" is a huge pain in the ass and can take a very long time to get done and often gets screwed up or has unreasonable requirements.

I would also agree with others, that Bittrex at the moment is the best one of exchangeres. Maybe also poloniex and kraken, poloniex is great and it has a huge variaty of coins. Kraken has few of them, but it has an option to exchange your coins into fiat.

I recommend NovaExchange. They list new coins daily including coins which most other exchanges do not have. And they have fast support and the speed is good. Overall recommended. :)

Trading coin has had a sudden surge in numbers of participants.

Exchanges can't hire fast enough to keep up with the new customers.
You're going to have to actually be patient.

Coinigy is the one my friends who trade a lot use.
You can trade on any exchange from there.

I use Bittrex, zero problems.
I use Kraken occasionally but don't keep much there because they're having growth issues.
When I first got the Kraken account, months ago, I entered my email wrong and had to choose a new user name.
They didn't have time to fix it for me, but did respond that the email was the problem.
I use Coinbase.
Expensive, but zero problems.
Actually now that I verified with them not so expensive.

I think it's fun that we're in a Wild West of sorts, and that the exchanges have such personalities.

I don't think the problem is the problem here.

Yeah this is the truth of the most of the exchange currently that few of them.have the limit of the withdrawal and few of them have the problem of overloadness .
But still here i am using yobit and Bitrex even with this limits i like these but .
But if you want use that exchange which have Better response and speed of the trade then i would like to recommend poloniex because that is much better exchange .
I know very well that was facing the problem of the deposit of the bitcoins and also the problem ofnthe withdrawal that take long time .
But now no one of person facing that type of problem that we faced .
And also that problem was for the bitcoin only that is now solved , so here in my opinion best exchange for speed trade we should use poloniex .
Otherwise bitfinex are also better to use according to  your need .

I've personally only ever used Bittrex, it is annoying because some popular altcoins not on there. Not sure what I think of other exchanges, HitBTC seems to host alot of the ones I want that Bittrex doesn't have. Will have to do some research I thinks :)

For now i prefer Bittrex for larger trades.
For small sized trades cryptopia and nova exchange are alternative but i don't trust them too much.

I believe in order to get maximum exposure to different altcoins, we need to use different exchanges, from small to bigger exchanges.  Some altcoins are not listed on bigger exchange and being traded on the smaller one.   Though there might be reputation issue on the smaller/new comer exchange but some altcoins that is not listed on the reputable exchange is trading there.  There is no choice but to face the risk in order t have the maximum exposure to different altcoins.

Bittrex is the only place right now that feels like it’s secure enough to do large transactions with certain coins since they’ve been around long enough to have that kind of support from the other members of the cryptocurrency community.
Poloniex is another place that is used by many people but they have less credibility compared to Bittrex because they have a large number of people complaining about how slow they are to answer support questions and they shut down things that the traders there liked to do. Poloniex is catered more to themselves compared to the people that want to trade coins.

They are a couple that have most coins on them, but then there is always going to be that one coin that you have to go somewhere else for.

Why ?
Bittrex is best stable exchange that offer access to many new coins (specially good updated one- NEO an example) so it is a chance to win and accumulate more profit before prices getting high.

Cryptopia and Coinexchange has different altcoins that you might like. You are really going to get exposed to different altcoins there even if you only pick one of those. Just avoid Yobit though because they don't have different altcoins but different scamcoins instead.

I am also using it but that is not enough for a high quality trader as some of the coins may not get a chance to  enlist on that exchange like some of the previous ICO tokens which have a high potential to increase in value but in the start they got space on other exchanges. I will like to join a few exchanges. I also have a number of top exchanges for trade.

Yobit plays games and locks coins when the price changes so that they can either cut loss or benefit from the price changes. Bittrex is ok, but the coin list is much smaller. Polo is about the same as bittrex. We add in Nova because there are some coins on there that are no where else and you have to add cryptopia for the same reason.

Nova just recently close their site temporarily and only Cryptopia and Yobit has the most list of coins and also very popular, then you have binance and bittrex that also got a good number of different altcoins but mostly legit.
