Title: How to Switch and Mine a Different Coin?
Post by: mcrimson on May 25, 2013, 08:44:52 PM
I haven't set up my rig yet so this is just a hypothetical inquiry, but let's say I download GUI miner, scrypt version.

How easy is it to switch from mining, lets say litecoin, to any other scrypt based coin?

I guess if its pool mining I just input the pool data and it'll switch basically automatically?

Is setting up Solo Mining super hard for every coin? If I'm not a computer whiz am I just better off trying to find a good pool?

I'm just trying to get as much of a feel for everything before I jump into it. My equipment has almost fully been shipped so this week I'm going to build my rig and get to it, I just wanna know what exactly I'm getting myself into!

Thank you to all input!

1. Switching is very easy, just find the pool, register an account and put its url in miner application, thats all.
2. Solo Mining is harder to set up, its true. But no coins now are really profitable to mine in solo, unless you have some 20Mhs in scrypt or 20Ghs in sha256.
