Title: New Avalon ASIC rig clones - scam or not?
Post by: RayG on May 26, 2013, 12:25:16 AM
(As a newbie I can't yet post directly to the appropriate topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=215431.60 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=215431.60).)

Guys at http://bitmine.ch/ (http://bitmine.ch/) are selling 30 Avalon Rig clones (85+ GH/s) for $6500. They promise delivery in August.

1.) They supposedly ordered 10000 Avalon chips. That means 320 chips/rig x 30 rigs = 9600 chips. Only 400 chips left for them?
2.) I've ordered (but not payed yet) one of the rigs. My order number is >200, where only 30 rigs are available?

Is there something wrong with this picture?

Avalon clones are new. Moreover, they are not saying that they have item on hand. They are taking pre-orders. Who knows when will they deliver? If I were you, I would rather spend that money on butterfly labs miners. I can buy more hashing power for the same money from butterfly labs and I would have peace of mind.

BFL are probably scammers. No one really is sure if they are or not. I d be careful if I were you...many people seem to be having a lot of trouble asking them for a refound...

Yes I got an answer and I got my request answered and the confirmation mail. Christian wrote they a problem with the mailserver, that was the reason the confirmation mail needed to be sent manually.

Well than I slept over it and decided to pay the order and now I'm officially in the business of "no risk no fun" :-)

I personally decided to say goodbye to the money and hope for the best.

Unfortunately I needed to cancel my order last week because of unexpected family issues and I need the money right now.

Everything went smooth and I just recieved a full refund on my order. I hope that bitmine.ch hits their goal and lights up the power of asic.

I personally have a good felling about those guys.

So good luck everyone in the asic race
