If only there was some kind of decentralized, free market system where it is impossible to just create more money out of thin air we could replace fiat with...oh well, we can dream  ;D

We can all dream this will happen but we have a long way to go yet!

It will be interesting to see what happens for sure. It is a mathematical certainty that fiat will end soon, probably within the next year as every market on Earth flirts with the sons of disaster. Any tilt anywhere could start a catastrophic chain reaction that could stop fiat cold in its tracks faster than anyone thought possible.

An example is Lehman Brothers. No one thought that bank would completely fail over a single weekend, but it did, and the fallout was so severe it sent the entire world into a recession. The entire world is now in such a predicament...no amount of BernakeBucks will fix it this time.

If it's a mathematical certainty, please provide the exact date/time. Thanks.

Mathematically certain enough to say it is a question of when, and not if. Fractional reserve has a built in clock, where the debt at some point will effectively be infinity, as in there is no way to pay it back by just printing some more money. The market will do what it will, I cannot say when down to the exact time and space, no one can, but if I had to posit a guess, our world will start feeling it bad around the start of 2014 when the same old tricks won't work anymore, leading to hyperinflation of the Dollar, and worse probably.

Just...hell no lol

Though pedobear is a pretty fair analog of our current world market...

Fiat will be replaced once ruling bloodlines insure getting more control over herd with the whole replacement deal. It would be so much more effective if herd "comes up" with that which
is to replace fiat and demand global adoption of it, which is what cryptocoins are actualy about.

Herd can never permanently outsmart natural-born rulers. "We are many" can do some damage here and there but in the end they need someone to rule over them. That is nature law.

I imagine when the Dollar/Euro/Yaun/whatever actually starts it's rapid decline the first thing our Sheep Herders will do is call for a global currency likely based on fractional reserve as before, one they still control naturally. There already are rumors on something like this (http://www.amerocurrency.com/) already for Canada/North America/Mexico as part of a new fiefdom.

Bitcoin is the antithesis of privately controlled currency. The herds money :D But it is a system that not even the herd completely controls. We still need leaders of course, some are happy to follow, but those leaders should not have total control over the money supply too as that absolute power corrupts absolutely, and this is proven again and again in our current rat race world.
