According to the Bible, satan has dominion over the earth since Adam listened to him and ate the apple, for God to do anything on earth, his people has to pray about it. Creation is in turmoil because the devil is in charge that's why these things are happening.

God dont allow calamities and terrorism. People are the one behind of this... First calamities is the cause of undicipline doing of people like forestation that cause flush flood, illegal mining that cause landslide, theres many causes that effect calamigies in our country. Second is the terrorism, people is nit contented on what they have specialy those people create terrorisn because they want to get the place that they want to stay and create a big grouo that will help them. In religion i think, we have different belief specially in our religion, because they want to prove them that they are right when it comes.to their belief they creat terrorism.

God created this world and he left it all to the hand of the beings residing it. God is not going to interfere on anything that the nature cause.

God gave us all the gift of FREE WILL to decide our own fate.

God can not create war, the war is created by the devil. Those people who succumb to different temptations foment war and are more likely to die and burn in hell after death.

About disasters - Nature is Nature. There were hurricanes 1000 years ago, there will be 1000 after us. Yet, we are making it worst with our pollution.

I believe also in destiny. There might be things that do not even lay in the hands of God.
So even if you believe that God is almighty this includes that things can be and cannot be at the same time. So it can lay in his hands and cannot.
But whatsoever we should deal with it as best as we can.

God allows CALAMATIES and TERRORISM because of the heart we have. He knows that if He created a perfect world, no one will remember Him, no one will call for Him, no one will think that they needs Him. If He created a life without burden, people will never thought of God who creates this world. This is true, because almost all of us only pray when they feel cursed, they feel alone or they have many problems. But in times that they are happy and fulfill (also because of Gods Grace) they can't even thank God or just thought of Him.

There are also other questions that's been bugging me. Why does a fail loving god allows he's own creations to kill, annihilate, contaminates and extinguish each other ? Why there is fighting in life ?
Why are we drowning from racist, sexist and phobist soup we've all been drowning in ? Okay fine forget the one-offs, how about the countless wars declared in his name ?
Why does he not help people being murdered,tortured and all the people that's been suffering for no reason ?

Abrahamic religions: God is showing his displeasure, He's preparing for second coming, etc...

Karmic religions: It is punishment for mistakes in past lives, etc.

Primitive religions: Not enough virgins...

Atheists: Shit happens. Get over it.
 

It's simple, it's people's punishment for ruining and bringing destruction to life and earth. People usually invents something that is either making our life easier or something that destroys earth. People are becoming greedy, everyone wants power, everyone thinks they are great and always right.

God is giving you what you ask for.

Eternity has no end. We have end of life here. If you believe in Jesus salvation, you go to Heavenly joy for eternity in the resurrection. Calamity doesn't matter.

But, if you believe in Jesus, God will take you out of the calamity one way or another, even here. If no other way, death here, and eternal life in the resurrection.

Don't like it that way? You might not have much choice. Even billionaire David Rockefeller died.

Pretty sure that all religeous terrorists will always find a way to advocate themselves by quoting bible, koran, or any religeous prophet. I think that every terror attack have theit own beneficiaries so the idea of "god" (no mater what god) and religion is only abused by someone.

In every religion there is a god and I think that in some bad religion there is a war god who patronizes the bloodshed between peaceful peoples and forces people to fight for pleasure or the seizure of territory.

Free will. If God prevented us from doing the things we wanted to do, we would have no free will. You would be a robot, only able to do the things that God programed you to do. But God respects free will and allows those who want to disobey Him to have their way. People who want to sin are allowed to sin because they want to sin. God has no part in our evil ways; those in Hell are there because of their choices.

Is suffering bad? No, Christ suffered on the cross. We are told to bear our own crosses. Our reward is Heaven, not a comfortable life here. God has the ability to use the evils that we cause to create good. Trust in God, suffer willingly and do all that you have been commanded to do. All suffering is for our sanctification. What use is the virtue of patience if there is nothing to try our patience?

Besides, if you think that "those people" are bad and you are good, think again. You and I have done countless things contrary to God's will. He put up with those evils so that we may amend our lives and serve Him. Pray to God for stronger faith, have hope in His promises and show love to all.

God created us in the world to build the world and we are given the freedom to choose to be good people or to be bad people, all will be accountable in the day of judgment, as our human beings are given thoughts so that we can choose what is good and bad, and also given the guide to life in the world is the holy book

I'm not wondering. I mean how lame could it be if we have a single entity controlling everything without giving the beings freedom to do things in their own free thinking? Calamities happen naturally. I don't think it's being sent by an outside force. Terrorism is something that people decide on themselves in doing. It would be too convenient to look to god for answers to these

Well clearly some here are not Christians and don't believe in God.

Technically God give us our own mind, our own path to walk in, they want war and they(humans) made one. God only know the future he might send someone or yet a chosen one to fix it all but sometimes ot may work and not work or it depends on us because we have our own mind because God give us one.

He did not allow for such things to happen. Its our own fault why it came into existence in the first place. He just lets us be and run around wild, not intervening to see if we might learn from the past actions that we have committed. I dont see why people blame God all the time, where in truth is that we are the ones who have caused this to happen

Well i don't think we have to concern ourselves with why god allows this and why god doesn't allow that. Of course he'll allow people to do things their own way. Of course he gives guidelines on how life should be lived and then judges people by bow they lived by those guidelines.

Easy Answer, there is no god. Just like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter are just fictional stories, so are Zeus, Thor, Allah, Yahweh, etc.

On my own opinion God allow calamities and terrorism for some reasons. I think God wants us to experience it, to be much stronger and to hold on to our faith in Him. He wants all of us to unite and fight against the true evil.

If one thinks of god as a bearded man/being in the sky. Then your question does seems fair, in that god should actually do something to 'help' us.

If on the other hand you think of god as nature, or the universe, the source of all existence. And you think that planets and galaxies are at some level conscious. Then you might understand why it is not his/hers/its 'job' to allow and dissalow certain things.

The universe follows certain rules, always. If we know the rules or not it makes no difference. For example, animals (or people in our history) do/did not know about the force of gravity, but that force influences most of their lives. There are other rules/forces in the universe we still are unaware of, nevertheless they influence all of our lives.

There is a good analogy with our body. Only one third of the total cell count in our body are human cells, others are not. Let's say that you are god to all of the cells in your body. You are conscious, their god is conscious, be they do not know that, and for them you are most powerful and knowledable, and for what they are concerned, you are immortal.

Let's say one of the cells sees how a certain type of cells kill the others (which is a normal function in your body) and wonders why does god allow this kind of behavior, can he not see that cells are dying?

But we understand that cells have to die, and understand why. But for the cell it makes no sense.

As you live and evolve in this live, you are part of the god/body that is evolving also. That's what happening whether we are conscious of it or not. There are no calamities or terrorism, it's just our narrow perspective of it all.

True, calamities and terrorism isn't God's fault. But the thing is God knows that this happens and there is a plan in there. I believe that this life has alot of crap and storms thrown at you, but God make it so that you could withstand it. Besides, we do not know how God will pull it off but that is the reason of faith, you have to believe that there is something here maybe not in your lifetime but be comforted that it is but a thread on a great tapestry

In my opinion, this is just a Natural phenomenon that occurs in Our world. Religious Gods have nothing to do with it. Ofcourse many religions have different perspectives on this matter, but truthfully in reality, this is just a Natural phenomenon.

Landslides due to deforestation, fishkills due to toxic wastes that are dump on the river but big factories and minings, stronger typhoons due to changing weather that is caused by global warming are some calamities that are manmade. Terrorism is purely made by man because of some ideologies and beliefs. My thoughts, maybe and just maybe, God is allowing all of these to happen to wake us all up and change our ways.

I think God is allowing calamities and terrorism for us to be aware about the wrong things that we are doing. However, in some instance, God isn't actually the reason for such things. It is us who suffers the result of our carelessness and inhumanity for our mother earth. He gave us a paradise and it is for us to maintain it's beauty. If we destroy it, it will just destroy us back.

I have come to believe, lately, that it all stems from not listening to what the Holy Spirit is telling us. For example. Patsy Cline was boarding the private plane that she died in when it crashed. She announced that she had forebodings about flying on that trip, but she did it anyway. I think that the Holy Spirit was warning her, but she didn't listen.

You can find all kinds of people who felt the warnings about something. Some of them listened, and some of them didn't. And I am talking about some of the troubles I have had in life, too.

How do we know when we are hearing the holy Spirit, or when it is our imagination? The best way is to fill up on reading the Bible, or listening to Bible tapes or CDs. The Holy Spirit will help us make right decisions by emphasizing something that we read in the Bible that matches our present situation. It could be something as simple as  avoiding a cut finger, or as complex as moving out of our country when war is threatening.

But the Holy Spirit has a hard time when we don't have enough of the Word of God in us to work through.

I do not wonder why so-called god allow calamities and terrorism on earth because there is no jesus, allah , god etc. The force who causes terrorism on earth is just human beings. For that reason, we should blame evil people to create hell on earth.

To enable the people to see that God exists and that it is time for us to care what He has gave us ever since.

It would be about time to move from reasoning by the way of prehistoric myths to reality based thinking.

If you are reading the Holy Bible, it's says there that all of God's creation was perfect until Satan deceived Adam and Eve and ate the forbidden fruit. Since then, everything turned upside down.

Why did God let Lucifer and his demons to exist? why not just let them "poof" out of existence? What is the point to a play without the antagonist? How can you say that you passed a test if there are no questions on the test paper to answer? I don't "wonder". If you "wonder", you are questioning. I don't think that there's any kind of active presence from a God.  If God exists - it's not to impose morality on us.

I am sure that these calamities are all usual events of nature and these occurs before even we humans existed. And we should not blame God for terrorism because He gave us freedom to decide on ourselves  but unfortunately those terrorist wanted to spend it on doing evil.

Calamities happen because of our planet. Though we as a specie also has a lot to do with the calamities that strike us. Greed for power,.money and control often overlooks the more important things like calamity awareness. We can't blame dieties for the things happening to us because one way or another, its our decisions that put is in those situations

God is not responsible for terrorism and calamities. These unfortunate events are made because of the humans' greed and need. For example, we cut forest trees to give way to the development of the cities like buildings, if the forest is already bald, nothing can prevent flood or flash floods. It is our own doings, so we should not question God for allowing these things to happen, instead we should help one another to obtain peace on earth and a healthy world.

He gave us this in order for us to look for his help more and more and this is also happening because of the behavior of the people on this planet earth as well.

God gave mankind the freedom or their free will. What they do with it comes with consequences. Calamities and disasters are sometimes caused by negligence of man to nature. God allows these things to happen because it is some sort of punishment but God is still good for He brings miracles through this disasters.

God did not created humans as robots. They have free will. They can choose and decide whatever they want. It's just that people are liable for what they did. They have to suffer the consequences of their actions. God wants his creation to recognize Him. God wants his people to turn to him. This only proves that we need God. We cannot solve our problems alone. We cannot control things on our hands. It is still God who is in control of everything. If we will repent our sins and  call unto Him,  he is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from all our unrighteousness. God will spare His children from any harm and disasters.

I wonder why God allowed this calamities and terrorist. Actually this is one of the hard issues to discussion. Discussion of this topic can lead one man to more than doubts and calamities in his own life. This will bring a person to destroy his entire belief or it can strengthen but it depends to the person personality.

Well as for me... it's not that God allows Calamities and terrorism.. its that God allows men to do whatever he or she wants to do in his or her own will and at the end of his/her life will bear its fruit which is bad nor good.

God does not allow calamities and terrorism. It is us people who cause this. Calamities are causes of illegal logging, dumping of waste in the sea, dumping of waste anywhere and many more. Terrorism are causes by anyone wanted to rule and not satisfied with they have.

Everything happens for a reason, we may not know the reason now but we'll realise it in the end,just like what is happening to other countries who were hit by an earthquake or calamities. God let all these happen so that people will have a realization of how bad people have become over time. He let us suffer so that we'll learn how to forgive, to ask for help, to pray and thank him for all the blessing he has given to us without being appreciated.
