Hi all,

Hopefully one of you can help me with a question I'm having.

Do wallets like electrum and exodus accept all types of coin?  I know they will accept a wide range, but what are the limits?  I am worried that I will one day attempt to transfer a large amount of a peripheral coin from an ICO or the likes and will end up sending all my profits into the twisting nether.

The wallets will publish what coins they accept at their website.

Electrum only accepts bitcoin, but there is also an electrum-lite that accepts litecoin.

Electrum only accepts bitcoin, and one version of electrum only accepts bitcoin cash; whereas Exodus accepts Aragon, Augur, Bitcoin, Dash, Decred, EOS, Ethereum, Gnosis, Golem, Litecoin, and OmiseGO. If you wanted a wallet that can support more, try out Exodus Eden (https://www.exodus.io/eden/). Take note, Eden is still in it's alpha stage so expect alot of bugs.

Not sure about the "limits" you're referring to, but I'm pretty sure there are no limits on these wallets, only the transaction fees.

Exodus will only support a small list of coins, that can be found on their website linked above;

If the ICO you are participating is issued inside the Ethereum network (ERC20 token), you will need an Ethereum wallet that supports it. In this case I recommend you to use MyEtherWallet.com[1] as they allow you to add custom tokens and manage them.

[1] Be careful while visiting this wallet. The .com domain is the only one legit; There are tons of phising websites out there.

Thanks for the help.  My main confusion was whether exodus was going to take other ERC20 tokens besides the ones listed on it.

Yes myetherwallet.com is great. I also was like you and wanted one wallet doe more then one coin. I ended up just using a full wallet with chain for all the altcoins I collect. The myetherwallet is amazing and works so well I love it. I just hope there still coins being made now because there are so many people doing tokens and ICO for them. Remember to keep your back ups in a safe place.

My etherwallet is great for collecting tokens but you better use different wallets for different tokens and I'd recommend Parity wallet for long term holding.

Yeah, different wallets support different coins...and it's absolutely confusing sometimes!

You'll find Exodus first the on the list (but these aren't in any particular order), and they support BTC, ETH, LTC, DASH, GNT, REP, EOS, ANT, DCR, OMG, and GNO currencies.

Electrum supports BTC only.

some wallet accept two types of coin like blockchain so because you are newbie start use bitcoin and with days use other wallet with other coins

each wallet accepts only specific coins. so before choosing your wallet make sure to that is support the coins you are interested in.. type in google "Coin support Exodus" and check the first results to see what coin it supports

the wallet like bank some accept one coin  like coinbase  and other more like blockchain.info   so start with btc and then add more coins

Different wallets support different coins. You can simply visit their websites to see what coins do they support :)

yes its better to use myetherwallet..this is good wallet and secure of personal key. and you can add  custom token from ico if ever they release a new token.

you can use myetherwallet(dot)com for you altcoins. dont hesitate to use some other trusted wallets that surely support altcoins. i am using electrum for my bitcoin to store in, and myetherwallet(dot)com for some altcoins i have. in short i am using a multiple wallet not just to store my coins but to more secure to not to store all in on one wallet.
