I'm creating this announcement topic, as it was requested.

Important: It's an information and discussion topic only. No samples and no voting, please.

What do you need to participate:

1. "Raw" logo sample;
2. Icon samples;
3. "Accepted here" banner samples.
4. Explanation of the selected concept.

If you wish to participate, you need report it in PM, with your samples. We will wait 1-2 weeks until there will be enough candidates. Only after this public candidates thread will be created.

Note that you don't have to publish this anywhere before start of public candidates thread. You should protect your ideas against the plagiarism attempts.

Prizes will be:

9 BTC + record in the copyright notes / changelog for the winning;
3 BTC for the 2nd;
1 BTC for the 3rd.

or equivalent in preferred currency (BTC-E USD codes and NVC available).

Okay, I have a question. I really like the current logo as it is shown here:

It's easily the best logo on that page and it will be hard to beat. Why do we need another one?  ::)

Unfortunately, current logo is licensed only for non-commercial purposes. But Novacoin is a free and open-source project, so such limitations it's not good. We should replace it with the new one without any licensing limitations. ::)

Congrats on seeing Nova in its position today , its very good to see great innovation and fine coding pay off in such a way .

I think the Nova team has brought a lot to the Crypto community .

Don't forget that you can supply multiple entries -- keep them coming! I hope somebody will make a variation of the existing logo.

Will a new Topic be started for entries , and I'd suggest a fixed format :

i.e:
Something like this :


1. - Raw logo design  i.e pure vector or JPG

[Picture here]

2. - Explanation of design if applicable .


3. - Possible use or 3D or Advert version of design

[Relevant pictures below]

4. 48 x 48 version to see how it shrinks, for OS and applications.

i personaly sell yesterday all my novacoins. i saw this behaviour when UNOCS promises soooo much things, and after that we saw delay and delay everything.

Hi guys. :) I'm sorry for being too busy with LTC and BTC pools, there is still a lot of work must be done. But I came with a good news, I finally have enough BTC to cover prizes, thanks to unknown guy for 1 BTC donation. :)

Thanks  :), Balth has already said he's got the funds for this contest so can only assume he can't be bothered. Wouldn't normally care but to work on a design for 10 - 15 hours and then be ignored is fucking annoying.

There were many personal problems, but the issue can be considered solved. Originally you didn't have to upload images to the public, but I suppose that it won't hurt because the chronology was broken already.

I think that we can continue in public, following the scheme:

1) Publish logo samples here or in PM with NVC or BTC address attached;
2) Receive some coins. :)

No attempt limits will be introduced... We'll think about voting later.

http://www.cryptocoinrank.com/Novacoin - not bad simple design, but IMO it will looks better with gold fringe (like a coin of 1 euro) - after the gold btc and more value than silver ltc. If Balthazar likes shekel sign (₪), it can be placed instead of "N" ;).

Surely Balthazar could lower the prices, seems a bit of waste after all the effort put in to make logos.
