I've been using it for several years without any issues at all. My main issue, throwing away fees because I couldn't decide the amount myself, was sorted out in the last few days.

Dodgy looking advertising is sneaking into it now which is something I don't like, but I can live with it.

What features do you want and need in your wallet?

I've never used Mycelium, personally. It appears on Bitcoin.org > Choose your wallet, so it should be okay. I've always heard good things, but I had no idea that advertising was included:

Personally, I've been very happy with Electrum over the years. A very lightweight client, but secure, with recoverable seed. And no advertising. :P It's usually what I recommend to friends who are just starting out.

I never used mycelium too. I'm staying with electrum but if you are only asking about the safety of mycelium.

It's a good wallet and you can trust them with your funds.

Not only you but me either, easy to use and convenient.

I personally use Electrum for my desktop wallet needs and blockchain.info for my webwallet needs. Both are good and enough for me. But its also important for you to back up your wallet files and enable 2FA always.

Theres no such thing as the best BTC wallet. Its how you secure it that matters most.

i think every bitcoin wallet is safe because each dev from each wallet is thinking about the secure for the wallet too. so no matter what bitcoin wallet you use, i think it will works properly for you and will give high level security as long as you follow the rules. personally i use electrum, bitcoin core in my desktop and i use jaxx, mycelium, and coinomi for my android phone.

Not every wallet is safe. Some are just malware that intend to steal your coins. That's why I would only use wallets listed at bitcoin.org. There are lots of scams out there.

Electrum and Core are great. I'm not familiar with Mycelium or Coinomi. I would not recommend Jaxx for a desktop wallet, whatever you do. You can only add a 4-number pin -- no complex pass phrase -- to protect your wallet. I prefer encryption with a strong password.

I am currently using electrum and jaxx as my hot wallet and they are working perfectly also they have high level of security. You are the only one who will have control on bitcoin stored in that wallet because none of the wallet details are shared with their servers.

Paper wallet and hardware wallet are ultimate solution as cold wallet, I haven't used mycellium till now so don't have any idea about it.

I don't use mycelium and you know what the reason why I started to use electrum? Look on the popularity of that wallet, it's suggested by everyone here. You can also refer to these wallets if you want to be safe https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet but I know mycelium is a good wallet.

Mycelium is a good wallet with strong security features. Yeah, like gentlemand mentioned the fees was an issue, even now you can't set a custom fee, but they readjusted their fees structure, low-priority fee is only 4 Sat/byte. Other advantages, you can buy or sell bitcoins locally through Mycelium marketplace and the wallet can easily be synced with hardware wallets like Trezor or Ledger.

Personally, I haven't used it so I don't know if its secured or not. But if you want recommendations, Electrum is the best wallet to used in my opinion. Its lightweight and user friendly and you can adjust the fees of the transaction. So if you want your transaction to be pick up in the next 1-5 blocks then go for the higher fees.

You have chosen the right wallets, but not every wallet is secure, as you stated. There are many kinds of wallets, like online wallets, hardware wallets app paper  and mind wallets. A wallet generally only can be secure, when you are the owner of private keys.

Well, It depends simply on you, how purposes you use it. If you want a hardware wallet, something that you can store your crypto inside, just like a thumbdrive, check out the trezor or nano s ledger. I have the ledger and it's great to use. If not, check out the JAXX wallet as well, not a hardware wallet but good option to store currencies as well.

I don't recommend jaxx because there are lots of issue about jaxx.. if you really wanted your wallet to be safe better to stay mycelium or like other said hardware could be safe high security is trezor than ledger nano .. base on my research trezor can block viruses and keyloggers unlike ledger nano s that can prevent virus but i don't think if its good in keyloggers..
So i suggest better to use electrum and mycelium instead or trezor for hardware and better security..

Mycelium is a good choice for wallets but for me there are so many wallets that has still problems and bugs. There are only 2 choice for me for desktop wallets and that would be bitcoin core and electrum. These two are my choice from before because they are so very stable and has a big support from the community. And for my web wallet there is only one I trust and that is blockchain.info but I'm starting to use green address now.

If you want a safer wallet to use try to check the list here https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet everything you need is there.

If you want a desktop wallet I will suggest electrum and greenaddress. But I have read some people here are using mycelium and I never used it so I can't give you a feed back about that.

Mycelium is a great wallet, you get to keep your private keys and for me it has posed no issues yet, a few people I know have also used it and have never had any issues.

Mycelium is alright.

If you are looking for a web wallet then i'd say for a entry level beginner, blockchain.info is probably still the best option. However, greenaddress deserves a mention as well since they're probably one of the earliest web wallets available and they've got a lot more functionality.

For desktop wallets, definitely either copay or electrum.

It is not every bitcoin wallet that is safe. While some are safer than the others, some can at least guarantee you some very good maximum level of security. The thing is safety depends on each individual and how they can enhance the security of the wallet they are using. One thing you should consider however, is ... do you have control over your assets (by being in possession of your private key)?

If anything happens to the wallet you are using and you do not have your private key, just know that you are done. Also, you may even have your private key with you and just leave it laying around and getting to the hands of someone who needs it more than you, and then you are also done.

If you are looking for the best safety by staying offline (if you are holding much for long), then just go for either a paper wallet which is free or hardware wallet which comes with a price.

Yes they do think about security, but mostly that is the security of the site and oftenly it happens that people loose their founds and can't do a thing, cause of the support of the wallet doesn't work effectively. You see, when you hold money on an online wallet those money are actually wallet's money but not yours. So, if one day the owner of the site will decide to close the site or it will be hacked - you will loose everything.
I used to believe to something more serious, as hardware wallet. Currently I use Ledger wallet and I feel safe with it totally.

There's nothing to worry about mycelium it may not be listed here https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet but it's one of a trustworthy wallet. But if you aren't sure about using them then you can prefer to those wallets that are listed there. What are you preferring to use, a web wallet or a desktop wallet? There are so many choices where you can trust your bitcoins with.
