Title: Sonic SSD is seeking a new Head developer.
Post by: virgojeep on September 12, 2017, 02:06:53 AM
The current head developer has not been able to keep up with maintaining or innovating the coin because of personal reasons. He is willing to hand over the development to someone else.

Here's some info on the coin:
Sonic Coin (ticker symbol SSD)

Sonic Coin provides a complete anonymity solution for cryptocurrencies. It combines the network analysis resistance of Tor with the blockchain analysis resistance of stealth send. Sonic Screwdriver has a fair distribution with nearly four hours of low reward blocks, a small premine of 1%, and the long-term energy efficiency of proof-of-stake minting.

This wallet supports the stake=0 option in the SonicScrewdriver.conf file to disable the stake miner thread for pool and exchange operators.

Info on the Money Supply:
Algorithm: SHA-256d Premine: 0 First Subsidy 8,000 SSD Halving every 1440 blocks (about 1 day) Last PoW block: 20,420 Total PoW Money: 23,037,120 SSD PoS Interest: 20%

Here is a link to the github https://github.com/SonicScrew/SonicScrewdriver (https://github.com/SonicScrew/SonicScrewdriver)

What I liked about this coin originally was that it added privacy to a coin with the same algo as bitcoin. I thought any innovation in this area could eventually be used by bitcoin developers and would make SSD more valuable in that regard. I still think it has that potential even now. Perhaps with some rebranding and development updates this coin can rise from the ashes. I've talked to Russel and he mentioned that it wouldn't take much to get the coin back on its feet. If your interested you can contact the current developer on twitter https://twitter.com/argakiig (https://twitter.com/argakiig)

SSD is the first cryptocurrency to integrate Tor and use stenography which makes it an important part of cryto history. I see that Deeponion is doing something similar with a different algo. The last development that Arg was working on with SSD that was almost done but never completed was integrating a Tor browser into the wallet. If your a developer looking for a project with huge prospects that doesn't require a lot of work this may be your opportunity. It's like finding an old car with 2000 miles on the odometer. It wouldn't take much to get it on the road again.

This is the best because its not take so much effort to become one of this camapign, I find it wonderful and good prospects in some cases.

With 23 million supply this coin has the potential to be over $100 a peice and it's already Proof of stake so no scaling issues. With an active developer I'm certain it would capture the attention of those interested in privacy crytocurrencies same as Dash or Monero.

John McAfee was recently talking about how Monero is untraceable. I wonder how well Sonic would've faired in those trials. He did mention using Tor for making bitcoin transactions. I wanna ask him what his opinion is about stenography.

Russel Waters is the current developer and I only have contact with him on Twitter. It's hard to get him to respond right away when I message him. It would be nice if a developer from a well know coin was willing to take over. I have my fingers crossed.

Russel is looking into getting the website back up and running which is just a matter of reregistration of a domain. That's a win at least for promotion purposes. It also saves anyone willing to take over the need to make an entirely new website. From what I can tell the only thing any new developer would need to do is maintenance and begin working on the wallet based Tor browser. Update the road map and then relaunch.

I started up my wallet and am staking. I will let it run for a few days if anyone would like to get caught up. I only have one connection atm. We need to get a few active nodes going.

I haven't run the wallet for well over a year, but I'd donate a bunch of SSD to argakiig or a new dev if there is going to be a revival.  It seems dead otherwise.

Same here. I would be willing to donate to a dev fund as well.

I'm thinking about ways to get an angel investor interested in the coin so it'll be funded. That would mean paid developers.

A huge selling point would be the Tor browser in the wallet that was under development. I saw that vertcoin is doing something similar and they are a hot commodity right now.

So as of right now vertcoin is sitting at $3.50 with supply cap double of SSD. Imagine want this coin would be worth if it had an active dev team. I imagine an investor would make out pretty well on this. Hire developers to make the coin active again, buy up as much as you can, rebrand to something new, update website and get the coin listed on bittrex or poloniex. Market it as much as possible for the least amount of money and boom instant profit.

C'mon guys. Still no takers? This is your big chance to be a head developer in a coin with a low supply and privacy features. Huge profit potential.

thanks for trying , dont give up , it may take some time but you will find someone a developer , please don't lose faith.  if there is anything i can do to help , let me know  ;)

I've been talking to Arg on Twitter and trying to get him to rebrand to something different. I was thinking Torque because it has Tor in the name and it represents something that's used for securing something like a torque wrench. He's still busy with life happening. I'm thinking he had children and that's what's taking up most of his time and resources. As for finding a developer nothing so far has come of my attempts. Arg says it wouldn't take much to get the coin back up again and I think the only way it'll get relisted on bittrex is if the GitHub became active again. My personal opinion is that this coin could be a college education or retirement fund for his kids if it were active again. Only time will tell. Our only hope is to get an angel investor to put Fiat into the project and that would require the community putting effort into marketing to the right people. Arg is a developer and not a marketer so we have to bear that. On a side note here couldn't get the website back because someone got the domain. Probably also a good reason to rebrand. Maybe torquecoin.com??

Well if anyone knows anything about SSD - I'd love to promote them once more; if somebody DMs me on twitter we can work something out.

I guess there's no interest. What a shame.

Arg may still need some time to settle into his house before he starts doing development again. I truly can not understand how we could not find a developer. This coin is based on Sha256 just like bitcoin but with stenography for privacy. It's a private bitcoin ffs. Right now Arg is looking into compatibility with Raiblocks algorithm so sometime soon SSD could be forking into a privacy coin with instant transactions and a 24 million supply. That's gotta be worth at least $50 a peice or more.
