Bitcoin won't have an Initial Coin Offering since coins have already been circulating for years.

Do you even understand what ICO is?

I'm guessing OP probably meant what the effects of other new cryptocurrency ICOs on bitcoin in terms of price.

As we all probably know, ICOs have been getting alot of attention from investors since the first ICO came out; millions and millions of USD worth of bitcoin and ethereum are being received by various cryptocurrency ICOs. In my personal opinion, I think ICOs has a huge effect on prices of both bitcoin and ethereum, since ICO holders most probably dump the BTC and ETH on exchanges after each cycle, effectively lowering the price of both BTC and ETH significantly. It used to be fine in the past, but as every week more and more new cryptocurrency ICOs are being announced, ICOs definitely have an negative impact in the market in terms of prices.

Little to no effect. Ethereum and Waves are more used for ICO's so their price is more dependent of them.

Maybe indirectly, if people enter the crypto world because of Bitcoin.

today's current temperature of where i live is 33°C and it is partly cloudy. these stats have the same effect on bitcoin as ICO has.

Not much unless the ICO already release in exchanger and then people trade the coin using bitcoin, it can increase the transaction volume and that can caused the price to go up, when it has become alt coin then it got more effect to bitcoin

That's why when China banned ICO it makes the BTC price dips. ICO have a big impact on btc. When investors buy plenty of btc to invest into ICO it adds on btc price. Ico attracts more btc users for it is the easiest way to invest in an ICO having bitcoin.

Recent ICO issues shouldn't have too much effect on BTC in the long run. Once ICOs are better regulated and transparent they should attract more of the "big money" and cryptos will benefit.

While you can't fully decouple the ICO market from BTC, I'd say the effect is rather limited compared to the effects on ETH. BTC still is part of an economy of its own while ETH is largely used for buying ICO tokens.

The BTC price dropped because it was reaching a new ATH of USD 5k that was already a strong psychological barrier to begin with. While China's ICO ban may have been a catalysator, this dip still was bound to happen either way.

We're a looong way off from regulated and transparent ICOs... even if they become regulated, most big money will prefer traditional VC investments as opposed to ICOs.

ICO company tokens will never die, because Ethereum needs a reason to exist.

This is what i supposed to say on which i didnt think off that banning ICO made by China is the actual reason why bitcoins price dips on those times but somehow do really make a trigger to dip too together on the thing that bitcoins price is really already on the reversal side when it didnt able to break the 5k usd resistance barrier.I cant see that this ban ICO cant really affect big on bitcoins price.

It doesn't affect the price of bitcoins but yes, if there is some news that concerns the market then we can see bitcoin prices falling or rising like the latest china ban on ICOs as well as the news of the country banning exchanges made made traders dump their coins on the market. It's mainly ETH whose price keeps fluctuating during ICOs.

There is not much direct connection between start of ICO and price of bitcoin but as most of the altcoins like waves, eth are bought with bitcoin when there will be demand for eth or waves to invest in ICO many people have to buy bitcoin first also many of the ICO are also accepting bitcoin as deposit for tokens this can also create another wave of demand for bitcoin.

But these demands can't change market price of bitcoin significantly.

ICO will be affect the other altcoin only not a bitcoin. Since most of the altcoins initial offering is based on ethereum based smart contracts. It may be competitive to ETH or LTC.
If the market place value grows for the concern new ICO that is good for the investors who are all invested in initial token sale.

I think its a minimal effect for bitcoin that is why we are seeing more people are buying bitcoin just to invest in ICO it is because of marketing strategy ICO as you can seen even in google advertising you see the ICO advertisement and also in other social media like facebook or a twitter..
Bitcoin is increasing value because they are using bitcoin as payment or ethereum as payment when selling ICO ..
But it will never be a big effect if china will removed ICO because its only one country.

ICOs won't have any effects over Bitcoins and you can clearly see how gradually Bitcoin recovered after being dumped when that ICO news took place (if that was basically your concern). ICOs are different coins (basically altcoins) which have their own markets and I don't think it should harm Bitcoins' market in any way. The reason why Bitcoins got slapped down was mainly because China's name was included.

As stated ico will be an major asset to support the growth of the cryptocurrency. The ICO's might create more users into the digital currency and most of the ICO's were created to perform unique functions. Also most of the users invested into these ICO's too were benefiting bigger and better.

ICOs being banned has little effect on Bitcoin. The action by China on ICOs led to some fear that Bitcoin could be next. So the drop in Bitcoin's price was driven more by sentiment than anything else.

ICOs definitely have less impact on Bitcoin compared to Ethereum, as more ICOs prefer receiving Ethereum due to the transaction fees and transaction times, but ICOs definitely do have significant effect on bitcoin prices. Where did you get your data/information about people buying bitcoin just to invest in ICOs? Can you link me to any source? Almost everyone knows that the majority of the offerings to ICOs are Ether.

"But it will never be a big effect if china will removed ICO because its only one country." I disagree so so much. China has 4.2x the population compared to the United States of America. Also, take a look at the market volume of bitcoin alone; a huge and definitely significant percentage of the market volume is coming from China. Do your own research before making such statements.
