Title: New faucet
Post by: mabeasley1 on September 12, 2017, 08:37:36 PM
Hey guys!

So I started a new faucet, 5minutebitcoin.com (http://5minutebitcoin.com), and I was looking for some feedback on the site.  I am trying to work with a minimal up-front cost so that I will not have to worry about having enough Bitcoin to pay out. This is my first website I have ever created and is mostly just a project to see how things work.  I used Wordpress to put it together.  I will be afk for a few hours, but I would greatly appreciate any feedback you guys have on the site.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: I have increased the minimum faucet claim to 25 satoshi and the minimum payout to 10,000 satoshi.

Great work for first site!
I try it 1 time and it looks that all work correctly.

I receive 5 satoshi to my balance and than checked on "Check Balance" and also they are available.

Hello, i have tried your faucet.
Pros: No popup ads
       High-referral commision
Cons: Low reward
        High cashout limit(30000 sts) :o
        Cannot check balance
Anyway good luck with your faucet.

As a starter it's a good looking faucet, clean and simple.  :)
though you should think about 5% bonus idea again cause it doesn't seem effective at all

I still claim normal, the system still counts the minute but when I check the account there are no sts in it balance

Looking cool. I think you didn't placed any ads. Just posted referral linky only. Placing ads in your site gives best advantages for you.

A solid site if this is your first one.  Good luck in the future.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

So I am also getting returned back to the main page when I click "check" on the Check Balance page. I am currently trying to figure out what is causing this. I have checked the payment logs and it is still crediting to everyone's addresses when they claim on the main page. Hopefully I will have this figured out in the next day or two. In the meantime, you can email me your wallet address at bitcoinfinancialinvestments@gmail.com and I will let you know your balance. That's my best idea for now  ???.

I will post an update as soon as I get it fixed.

Thanks again for all of your help!

P.S.  If anyone knows of any good ad sites I could use I would be grateful. So far the only ones I could find and use with my crappy Alexa ranking was Anonymous Ads and CoinMedia.

Looks pretty clean, it's always a little confusing when one enters information in between ads.
30 000 as a minimum withdrawal is going to be your largest obstacle since that often indicates a scam that won't pay.
Change to immediate payout and you should be good. :)
Personally I tend to stay away from faucets with such low min reward, but that's a matter of personal preferences.

I finally fixed the check button on the check balance page!!! It was a REALLY REALLY dumb mistake I made that caused the problem.

Anyway, I am going to up the minimum claim amount in coming days.  I'm thinking in the 25 satoshi range for the minimum amount. This way it will be worth more to the user to stick around.

Currently I am researching a way to link up with Faucet Hub or another reputable micro wallet.  As Kema said, I believe that it will show that the faucet is not just a scam.  In the meantime, I think I am going to cut it by 2/3 to 10,000 satoshi and see if that helps any.  My reasoning for the high payout limit was to figure out what my best way to create income would be, while allowing users to go ahead and start building up the accounts slowly.

So I plan on making a decision and implementing these changes in the next 24-48 hours. In the meantime any and all suggestions and opinions are welcome!

Once again, thank you for helping me out!

It's a really rough approach to say that 30k minimum to withdraw indicates that the website is a scam. First, this is the best way for a faucet to survive long time, until the user reaches the withdrawal limit, you receive the payment for ads.

If you start with a microwallet, you should have at least 0.01btc to survive 2-3 weeks and not afterwards, you will not get paid out from ads as much as you paid to users. This is the main disadvantage and the reason why almost all faucets who start with a microwallet do not pay or close their door after just couple of weeks.

I know more faucets that use microwallets who close their doors than faucets with direct payments. To give you an example...look at moonbitcoin, their direct payment system work for years, now they have their own micropaymens but they are very stable and allow themselves to make payments through a microwallet.

 You get the point right?

suzandi> If a site with direct payment to Faucethub doesn't pay, you just shrug and move on. If you spend time and effort to collect 30000 satoshi and the site doesn't pay, it's an entirely different ballgame. I have yet to see any site with direct payment as a serious scam, but I've seen several sites with large minimum withdrawals turning out to be scams.

With the price of bitcoin today, pushing the rewards down, 10k is probably going to scare some people away as well. Lower it to 1000 and people will likely give it a shot since it feels like it's within reach without having to spend a month claiming.
