it is called Vanity bitcoin address where you choose a set of starting characters (case sensitive) and then use the tool below to find an address that starts with it. the longer the prefix the harder it will be to find a real address to a point where it is usually 4-5 characters .

Currently not all wallets allow vanity addresses. I know for sure that Electrum allow to import your custom address.
You must create new wallet --> private key from what i remember.

The longer the prefix the more time or hashing power you will need to find your custom keys.
As long as you follow the rules for first character most coins can have a custom address.

As posted above above it's called vanity address. You can generate your own (by software mentioned above)

Just wanted to warn you to avoid any third party generating service (trust no one).

You can also use a Vanity Pool such as https://vanitypool.appspot.com to request other people to try to find a vanity address for a fee. If you are doing something like this, be sure to only use one that uses partial private keys ( like the one I listed does ) otherwise the other party would have your full private key.

Bitcoin addresses can start with a 1 or a 3, but most vanity addresses will begin with a 1
