Title: Visiontek Radeon HD 5970?? Or should I go with another manufacturer?? Post by: NISMOkwim on June 24, 2011, 01:10:41 AM I am about to purchase 3 Radeon HD 5970's, but I am unsure which manufacturer to go with. I found some really cheap refurb's from Visiontek, but I am concerned that maybe they aren't the best choice. Any recommendations?

There are no nonreference 5970s

But other than that they're all reference cards, which means they're all made to AMD/ATI's spec by Foxconn in China. All reference cards from both AMD and Nvidia are made by Foxconn. It took them, no kidding, 4 RMA's to get me a working 5830. I bought the card brand new and a month later it was artifacting like a National Treasure movie. Took them 6 months to process all the RMA's and finally send me a working refurb...
