Title: Positive press
Post by: mrjuice on September 13, 2017, 02:34:23 PM
I've been talking about a Bitcoin association but a lot of users are against this idea. They are telling me that would be "centralizing" a decentralized system.
The irony of it all is that Bitcoin is so WEAK and FRAGILE that whenever some banker makes a statement it immediately affects the price, whenever China decides to "ban" it immediately affects the price.
The effect of certain negative press releases can easily be avoided if we only had a team of people that could hire and pay for a PR campaign with other bankers claiming something else.
Why is nobody approaching other famous bankers to release aggressive contra-statements? Instead of whining and bitching on this forum and seeing how Bitcoin is losing its value faster than
ever before. Start posting articles , don't lie , just post the truth start promoting start paying for Facebook ads and campaigns, start talking to journalists, start doing it!

indeed until now only with the negative news influence on bitcoin prices immediately felt, if when the news appeared and immediately there is a counter response from other parties certainly the market will be stable

Yes and you're like the only one responding to this thread. That's the sad thing
Stop feeding the negative

There is not, will not, and should not be a centralised BTC "association" which gathers funds from the network instead of having a free open source project.

An example of this system being attempted is DASH.  10% of the block reward is set aside to pay developers as long as a centralised group of masternodes agree with the proposals (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1077613.0).

It's extremely difficult to make it clear what the community's consensus is, which is why it's important that funds come to project voluntarily from people who support different proposals for the Bitcoin network and that the proposals are developed accordingly.

It's also important to note that anyone could continue running a client supporting the old consensus rules which doesn't allow your ill-thought out ideas to come to fruition.
