Do you believe that the love of money is the root of all evil?

Money was designed by GOD himself and those who love it more than HIM, their family and good relationships defiled it's very purpose. Because the purpose of MONEY is to provide for our needs, to strengthen relationship and to enjoy our living.

I really believe that these signs are important but is not everything. I think you will never be totally sure if someone loves you because not everybody is the same and not what you think is love can be love for another person. For example, a friend of mine says that time is the most important thing in a relationship but to me are the feelings. So, the only thing you can do is trust her/him and let her/him how much you love them.

As you said yourself, money is needed for may things as you stated yourself. But the Bible is saying that the love of Money, people will go the extra mile just o get money and the list includes lying and killing just to do that. The one's who get money through legit ways are not evil but the one who get it through dubious ways, those are the one's the Bible is talking about.

Money is essential for living. But, before people didn't need money. People before can live happy and peaceful life without money. Nowadays, money is essential for us to gain influence, respect, power and many things. Money brings greediness to people, which could lead to bad things. Greed is one of the mortal sin and greed brings man's destruction.

I think that to love money is not bad. Just don't value money above family and love.Money is a means of life. Money can't buy health, as an example.It is not necessary to put money above all else.

Hi Footmanfred!  Thanks for your opinion. May I share my opinion to you why it is said... "The Love of Money is the root of all evil".  I think you just mean money is not bad :-)  Yes, if that's what you mean you are right!  But loving money is really wrong. Because when you love something you will do everything or anything just to have it. Like many people who love it, they kill and they lie just to get money because money is the means to get anything you want in this world and most bad people take advantage of that.

Yes, money is kind of evil. Because of the money people have a lot of problems. Without money there will be nothing to live. Because of the money, people even killed.

I don't believe that money, or any object for that matter, is evil. Evil is a feature that is unique to self-aware creatures. Without a human to use money for evil, the money would just be money.
Money in general isn't bad either, in fact it's one of the greatest tools mankind has created. Without money a lot more people would be dying than the amount of lifes that greed-driven wars have claimed.

I believe not, in the history of all humanity, money had just been created recently and I think its for the purpose of not putting in too much sheeps or catles in your pocket to trade with. I agree with you. Money is not the complete cause of all evil. The circumstances have given rise to evil. Anyone has the good and the bad inside the soul. When crushed, oppressed, evil will arise. It may be due to hunger and thirst, humiliation, trampling, poverty, and so on. Money is important but not all. Not all bad things are caused by money.

The problem is exactly the word "love". People should understand it is only a tool, not a fetish...

In this world as there is light there must be shadows as long as there is a concept of winners there must be losers and the desire to maintain peace causes wars and hatred is to born to protect love so we can say not only love of money but love for anything can be the cause of evil. Yes it is. Money itself is not evil but the love of money is. By too much love of money one steal, one cheat, on rob, on kill. Love of money a man may exchange his family to another woman more wealthier than her woman. One will deprive another  for his right because of love of money and a lot more of similar incidents and actions that could happen because of love of money.

Yeah i think so for other people. Because besides from needing in order to buy daily expenses, rich people uses it for their desires, whatever they have in mind they will do it even pay for a judge if he causes a sin. I believe that money shouldnt be loved but use it on its right purpose only

I don't consider that love of money is the root cause of evil rather its insecurities. I say insecurities for the fact that are jealous of what others have, how they look, and how they live through the point that we don't even love ourselves. Because of insecurities we would like to have money more than what we need to get our pleasures and almost all the things that we want.
Don't try to blame others with your own mistakes, accept and learn to be mature.

Yes I agree with this because it was stated in the Bible. It is the root of all evil like crimes. Robbing is one crime with money involved. Corruption and many more crimes involved with money are seen today. Poor people often rob because of needs. Other people steal because of envy. Money is the reason on why people don't serve God. Instead of going to church, they prioritized their business. As also stated in the Bible, man can only serve mammon (money) or God.

Actually, money is just a medium of exchange. Money does not have brain to think how to hurt people. It is the thought of human that used money as a tool for evil purpose. Many of them did wrong looking for a quick buck or two and end up doing some action that hurt another people. But they blame all the fault on money in fact is their brain that cause the evil.

What I have heard in a sunday preaching before. Money is not bad. Money is a tool to bless other people. A tool to help people in whatever need they have. Money becomes bad or becomes God if that only occupies your thought.

For me, love is a positive word. So love for money is not bad. Lust of money is. Love means sharing, being patient, being a giver, its humble. So if you have a attitude of love with regards to money, it is something positive and very powerful. That's for me :)

That's just a part of it. Much of that depends on whether our personality is good or bad. So money is created to balance life and its use if good will give us the love of money. Silver, but if the user is bad, will create a demon always in my mind, forced us to do bad.

True, it's only evil if the person has evil intentions and is willing to break relationships just to gain money. If the reason is unselfish, it's a totally different thing.

We live in a world where money is necessary. Money is just another form of energy, and it’s what we attach to it that becomes the problem. Money is one of the greatest motivators for evil. I mean alot of people break laws for money. They also lie, steal and cheat to get money. But money is not the root of all evil. People kill out of jealousy and money doesn't have anything to do with it. Others kill merely on principle,  like race thay money doesn't have a thing for. Money and other stuff might be a catalyst, but it's never the root cause. It's the different nature of people which make things good or bad.

Human's nature is a root of evil but not money. Money have no consciousness. It is an item or verifiable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts. It was created by people. But if you value money above everything else then probability of bad deeds increases greatly.

Before we use barter exchange for transactions, and people invented the logic of currency in form of coins (gold, silver, etcetera) to make transactions easier.

Money serves a purpose in the society, and because of its functionality many people have developed strong obsession in it. Money is never the root of evil but the person itself.

Intentions, motives and other personal agendas might be the "root of evil" not the tangible things.

YES, the LOVE of money and not money because when you love money and you can do anything to get it not minding the implications involve,that going extra mile of doing anything makes it evil.

Yes because money can change a person from good to being evil. They say you will know the real character of a person through money. Money is being use by satan to deceive more and more people. He wants all the people to love the money so they may forget to call unto God.  Many people fall on to this trap of satan. Use money wisely and in a good way.

Loving money is the root of evil but not all. When we value money over everything, we tend to do something just to have it. But loving money is the only catalyst of evil but also the money alone. Having money nowadays is a must for everyone since it is the only way to sustain our needs and wants. But if it will be attained through negative way, evil will come along. A lot of things here on earth are good, some of it people use for their own convenience. One of these is money. Having money is good if we are not the servant of it. But if the money will be the master by loving it will lead you to do evil.

Yes money is the root of evil, because sometimes just to have money other people will do something bad just to have money. And sometimes family start a war because of money, husband and wife start a fight because of money. So i agree it is the root of evil.

Yes I do. Even without the Bible verse we can easily figure out why there are many people fighting for money, because of money the family members are fighting, politics are killing each other, yes they do such evil things because of position but behind that why they love to have power is because of money, and many more. There are many reasons why people are fighting each other and some lives are ruin because of that behavior whether you are part of the doers or the victims.

Having money or wanting to make money is a good it, but when you make money the only thing you want to do neglecting every other thing, then it translates to greed  then it becomes evil
