Title: missing bitcoin
Post by: bull1980 on September 14, 2017, 09:47:55 AM
Hello, prior to the fork I have X BTC in my armory wallet. Because then armory haven,t had a bitcoin cash option, I claim my bitcoin cash with 'BITCOIN ABC' with this totural:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaRWNdRW9kE.
It worked, and I hade the same amount bitcoin cash as BTC in my armory wallet.
I send the bitcoin cash from the bitcoin abc wallet to karken.com.
The amount in my armory wallet was normal. A couple of days ago I wanted to send some BTC from wallet to kraken, but couldn't. I asked way, and was told to upgrade to armory 0.96.2, which I did. To my surprise and shock all my BTC where missing. There was a new transaction with the time and bitcoin cash address, when I have send the cash to kraken a 25 days ago.
One other thing - when I have send the bitcoin cash to kraken, it was received with not a problem.
Please if somebody cah help, I would be thankful.

Not sure where you tried to upload those log files to... but those links are broken... try copy/pasting them to www.pastebin.com and post the pastebin.com links here

Also, that address: 1H8K5yecLSvwqDsVvj8fLHgFoKfVbstJiz (https://blockchain.info/address/1H8K5yecLSvwqDsVvj8fLHgFoKfVbstJiz) has had 0 transactions on the BTC network, so I think your BTC is still safe in your BTC address here (https://blockchain.info/address/1JdxdSBJLjU8X6WcgP5btu1ycySYL8BY9j) ;)

You can see the BCC transactions for that address here (https://www.blocktrail.com/BCC/address/1H8K5yecLSvwqDsVvj8fLHgFoKfVbstJiz)

When you installed BitcoinABC, did you change the default install location at all? If not, then by default, BitcoinABC does a really "Bad Thing"™ and installs itself to the default Bitcoin Core location and uses the same data directory as Bitcoin Core!!?! :o this will overwrite your Bitcoin Core blockchain data etc :-\

It's possible your Bitcoin Core node data directory is now corrupted and showing weird stuff to Armory when it scans it... You may need to delete your blockchain folder and start again :(

Note, you should probably change either Bitcoin Core or BitcoinABC to use a different data directory, or this will continue to happen!

If you have the available space (ie. 150GB+ spare) I would shut down Bitcoin Core, rename the current folder (so you have a backup)... and then restart Bitcoin Core and wait for it to download and resync again from scratch... but it's a long wait :-\

I believe if you do this, you will find that Armory will report the correct amount of BTC in your wallet.
