Title: The 'm' List
Post by: eMansipater on May 27, 2013, 06:48:45 PM
This is a thread to collect businesses, websites, software, and other projects which use the .001 bitcoins unit in any form or under any name.  There are two categories: sites/projects/software that support mBTC/mXBT, and sites/projects/software that default to it.  Entries in the defaulting category of course also support the unit, but for obvious reasons they are not listed twice.  To start off the list we have:

Sites, projects, and software which default to displaying prices/values in mBTC/mXBT:

BitBrew (http://bitbrew.net/) (Sells coffee for bitcoins)
BTC Tip (https://secure.btctip.com:9000/) (sending bitcoins on Twitter)
CoinChat (http://coinchat.org/) (web chatroom)
coined.co.nz (https://coined.co.nz/) (Sells bitcoins for New Zealand Dollars)
mXBT.org (http://mxbt.org/) (mXBT price ticker)
Operation Fabulous (https://www.operationfabulous.com/) (advertising service)
PLAYTIN (https://playt.in/) (online Bitcoin casino)
Seals with Clubs (https://sealswithclubs.eu/) (online poker site)

Sites, projects, and software which support displaying prices/values in mBTC/mXBT:

Bitcoin-Qt (http://bitcoin.org/) ("standard" Bitcoin client)
bitcointip (http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcointip) (popular Reddit tip bot)
Blockchain.info "My Wallet" (https://blockchain.info/wallet/) (popular online wallet)
Electrum (http://electrum.org/) (Bitcoin client)
Raining Bitcoin (http://www.rainingbitcoin.com/) (advertising service)
Rugatu (http://www.rugatu.com/) (Q&A with bitcoin rewards)

Post more in the comments, I will add them here.

My site uses it by choice so advertisers can make a ridiculous low offer for ad space on my site. It really just depends on how large of an amount we are using at the time. Whole Bitcoin transactions obviously wouldn't  warrant their use. Interesting topic.

Operation Fabulous (https://www.operationfabulous.com/) made the switch several weeks ago.

And, as of today, so has BitBrew (http://bitbrew.net/).

XBT = µBTC, so 1 mXBT would be 0.1 Satoshi.

mBTC = 1kXBT or 1000 XBT.

mBTC = 1kXBT or 1000 XBT.

This is by no means standard usage of XBT.  See http://mxbt.org/ (http://mxbt.org/) for example.
